Waiver wire gems - plug and play (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
who do you got?

I am thinking some of these guys will have pretty good weeks.

QB: Kitna - has been playing more consistent, still has Austin, Witten, Williams receiving ball.

QB: Collins - had 244 yards passing and 3 TDs last week and gets HOU this week

QB: Garrard - He gets Ind, Was, and Hou to close out the season

edge: Kitna

RB: Torain - seems to be the guy in WAS as he got most of the carries

RB: Hightower - had 18/148/2 in week 14. Seems to be the guy now too

edge: Torain only because I think WAS can move the ball better and will have a better chance at scoring

WR: Britt - just missed a TD last week and facing HOU

WR: Mason: Has scored 10+pts in 5 out of last 8 weeks, but not playing HOU this week again

edge: Britt, the guy who is playing HOU

TE: Owen Daniels - He had a 11 pass targets 5/91..

TE: Zach Miller (OAK) in case he was dropped, looked healthy again and had solid 4/68

edge: Owen Daniels, seems to be the solid #2 target there

there's already a huge thread about DEF for week 15 so I will ignore here.

any other hot ww pick ups?

Those would be hot alright... if they were actually on the waiver wire.

The only one in any of my leagues to be had from your list is Collins.

I was able to grab Matthews, Benn and Louis Murphy this week. Not sure if I'll play any of them, although that might depend on the health of BMW. My flex decision will probably come down to Matthews and Dixon.

Louis Murphy - looks to be the No. 1 WR for the Raiders again and has a great matchup this week

Brandon Gibson - not a lot of upside but seems to be a lock for 5-50 every week which isn't too bad in a PPR league

Mike Sims-Walker - scored last week and Jags may have to throw it more this week

QB: Kitna - has been playing more consistent, still has Austin, Witten, Williams receiving ball.

- Not to mention Felix Jones on checkdowns and dumpoffs.

QB: Collins - had 244 yards passing and 3 TDs last week and gets HOU this week

- He’s a risky start with plenty of upside. You wonder if Chris Johnson doesn’t blow up early and the Titans just rundown hill all day with the lead. But the Texans should score enough to keep this interesting. I’d feel better starting other options, but you could do worse.

QB: Garrard - He gets Ind, Was, and Hou to close out the season

- Let’s focus on week 15 only, the matchup against Indy looks to be a high scoring one. But I’d expect the Jags to run roughshod on the Colts and passing production will be only mediocre. I don’t like Garrard

edge: Kitna

- Agree Kitna, then closely followed by Collins and then Garrard only if I was desperate.
RB: Torain - seems to be the guy in WAS as he got most of the carries

- Will be playing from behind all day long as it appears Rex Grossman is the starting QB. He’ll be facing 8 and 9 in the box. Not a good start.

RB: Hightower - had 18/148/2 in week 14. Seems to be the guy now too

- Had a great week last week in garbage time. Seems to be in Coach Whisenhunt’s doghouse over an early fumble. He had the same issues in week #1 and produced great numbers in week #2 even though he was on the hot seat with the coach. Facing a Carolina defense that has generously allowed 19 rushing TD’s this year.

edge: Torain only because I think WAS can move the ball better and will have a better chance at scoring

- strongly disagree with you here. Edge Hightower, great matchup and even if they get behind, Skelton will dump off the ball consistently to Hightower. A huge plus for PPR.
WR: Britt - just missed a TD last week and facing HOU

WR: Mason: Has scored 10+pts in 5 out of last 8 weeks, but not playing HOU this week again

edge: Britt, the guy who is playing HOU

- I’d like to agree with you here, but Mason has been money as Flacco’s main target. Britt is as much a roll of the dice as Kerry Collins is at QB. If you are really a gambling man, play both KC and Britt, but the safe money is Mason. He has a much higher floor and comparable ceiling compared to Britt.
TE: Owen Daniels - He had a 11 pass targets 5/91..

TE: Zach Miller (OAK) in case he was dropped, looked healthy again and had solid 4/68

edge: Owen Daniels, seems to be the solid #2 target there

- Weather will play a factor here, I don’t know what it will be like in Tennessee, but out west in Oakland, they are expecting heavy rains over the weekend, drying up in time for the game. The Oakland Coliseum could be a mud pit. I’d still be inclined to start Zach Miller here, as he is probably the most trusted receiving target on the team. Miller has more upside for this mismatch of a game, and Daniels has looked better of late, but I’d still rank him lower for week 15 at Tennessee. Still gotta love those 11 targets of Daniels. Both are solid plays.

Trying to decide between Benn and Murphy for my FA priority right now. I'm almost thinking that I can trust Benn more and would be more likely to insert him as my WR3 over LM. It seem hard to trust what the Raiders will do from week to week over Benn's recent uptick and TB with Freeman.

After a bye week in the first round of playoffs, I made the following pick-ups from the WW this week to fill in some gaps

Jason Campbell playing at home against a reeling Denver (gap left by an injured Rodgers)

Owen Daniels

Cardinals D @ Carolina (to sub the Packers D which is likely to get lit up by the Patriots this week)

I was able to grab Matthews, Benn and Louis Murphy this week. Not sure if I'll play any of them, although that might depend on the health of BMW. My flex decision will probably come down to Matthews and Dixon.
I'm in the same boat, but have Choice added to the mix. I'm leaning towards starting Matthews over Dixon and Choice. IMO, Matthews has the greatest upside this week.

qb - Collins, Campbell

rb - Hightower (likely not available anymore), Hart (if he plays), Dixon

wr - Benn, Nate Washington (may be available in some leagues), Murphy

te - Daniels, Gronkwhoseewhatsit

k - Feely, Buehler

dt - Cardinals, Raiders

:blackdot: I wish these guys were on the wire..I tried for Kitna but another team had priority over me

TE Kevin Boss may be a nice play with Steve Smith out for the season and Manningham a little gimpy.

Robert Meachem

You can count on his INCONSISTENCY and last week he had a goose egg but that was b/c he dropped what would've been a 50+ yards TD. I think he gets deep on the Ravens secondary this week.

A rookie starting his first game, outdoor stadium with double digits wind gusts in forcasts with single digit temperatures. Are you sure you want this guy in as your flex player? I am going with Javaris James of the Colts. He is starting to become the go to guy as a RB on the Colts, at least until Addai comes back or Mike Hart gets healthy and it looks like that isn't happening for either of them this week.

webb hes a qb/wr

I went with Benn. I'm considering picking up Avant as well though if DeSean sits. I obviously have major issues at the WR position or I wouldn't be considering plug and play for week 2 of playoffs.

with Gates out and filth on the waiver wire, i am hoping Bo Scaife comes up with a touchdown. vs texans it's certainly possible

Shipley might be a good play if Ocho sits with the bad ankle. I picked up Gibson for a #3 in a ppr league. He is usually worth 10-12 pts in that format. Might go and get Shipley if Ocho sits though. Shipley has had some big games this year. I think TO is even a little dinged as well.

Just picked up Avant as WTH add. If Desean is out, Avant could be a major sleeper play.

I keep looking at him too. I'm sitting Harvin and I need a home run play. The Saints will throw at least one deep ball to Meachem every game. You can bank on that. And if he scores, it's likely going to be a long pass (my league rewards bonus points for distance TDs). Plus the matchup is really good because the Ravens have serious issues in the secondary. So Meachem has plenty of home run potential. But the thought of a 0- or 1-point game scares the beejesus out of me.

Well, at least I put in the better of these two. I'm sure either Benn or Murphy will go off on my bench.

I'm not sure I could trust Benn based on his game last week. Sure he had a bunch of yards but this is the first time all year he has had 60+. But who the hell knows, perhaps he does it again.

You guys must have some really small roster leagues. Very few if any of these guys mentioned here are on the WW in any of my 9 leagues. ;)

....it's time.....and he is available just in case you were riding Rodgers or Favre or Sanchez....go pick up

TIM TEBOW

Week 15 STARTING QUARTERBACK for the Denver Broncos against the Oakland Raiders (thus a bad run defense)

My last flex spot is between 3 guys Ive gotten off the wire over the last 2 weeks: Webb, Rashad Jennings, Javarris James.

I think all 3 are decent plays since they're basically my 6th best wr/rb, but figuring out who will have the best day is a crapshoot.

Looks like I picked the right guys in here. Kitna 305/2TDs helped me make it to the superbowl. Britt had a nice day, wish he would have added a TD, but i'll take 128 yards any day. Torain had 101 total yards and 1 TD as well. Neither TE did much but Owen was better.

I dont think any player you listed besides Collins and Daniels were on a WW going into this week
