Waiver Wire pickups Week 9 (1 Viewer)

Obviously Ryan Moats will be the hottest prospect.

Any other guys out there? James Casey if Owen Daniels is out?

Mike Thomas seems to be getting a decent number of looks in Jax.

Jacoby Jones, especially in leagues that count return yardage. I expect him to get more looks now with OD out. OC Kyle Shanahan seems to be intent on getting him the ball a few plays per game. Jacoby is a scoring threat with the football.

Still like Donald Lee in GB.

Moats will be the hot pickup, but so was S. Greene last week. Slaton's not going to ride the pine folks.

Had Moats rostered for a few weeks and just dropped him last week.

Not sure what will chake out with the Texans but as you can see, Slaton will lose his opportunity if he keeps fumbling the ball.

How about for deeper leagues: Devin Thomas

Looked relatively decent before the bye, was heavily involved and may see some more looks while Cooley is out.

This is what i have, some of these guys may be gone in a lot of leagues, but might have been dropped in 10 team leagues:

Moats

Maroney

Kevin Walter / Jacoby Jones

Maclin

Charles

Cad. Williams

Lance Moore

Why? Isn't Finley returning soon?
read he tried to give it a go this week in warm ups and could not... but that does sound like he's close to returning to me.
I read it the other way."Trying to give it a go in warm ups" before the game says to me he's close enough to returning that the team and Finely thought there was a good chance he could play this week. Apparently he couldn't, but he was close enough to try.

what about Spencer Havner? Saw he had the TD's. I didn't see the game so what's the take on him?

That's what I meant--but you're explanation is much clearer. I'd guess (barring setback) he'll be back for their next game... I'd bet he's out there on some WW's (he's on mine and I'm trying to get him).

Right. We're agreeing.Guess my reading comprehension is down.

I haven't seen anything new on Fred Taylor in a long time.. but I bet he's on most WW's... been out since week 4. I'd be surprised if he was back prior to December since there's no word of him even starting rehab yet...

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick and running back Fred Taylor are hopeful Taylor's ankle surgery Thursday isn't season ending.

"We'll list him on the injury report weekly as we always do," Belichick said Friday when asked if Taylor will return this season. "I think obviously if he wasn't going to come back this season, then we would place him on injured reserve at some point. He's not there now, so that wouldn't be the expectation."

Taylor underwent surgery to repair ligament damage in his right ankle at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Thursday.

Taylor told the Florida Times-Union that he doesn't know when he will be able to return.

"I'll know more once I meet again with the doctor," Taylor told the paper. "I will bounce back stronger. I know it. I've prayed on it."

Taylor's surgery, which lasted two hours, was "more serious than a scope" and showed he tore "a couple of ligaments," according to the Florida Times-Union.

Looked relatively decent before the bye, was heavily involved and may see some more looks while Cooley is out.
Fred Davis with Cooley out.10 targets, 8 receptions for 78 and 1 TD
Davis looked great as a receiver, but he is very bad as a blocker. Hopefully he can still wind up on the field enough to be a productive fantasy TE.
It is Davis or Todd Yoder. IMHODavis was in 72% of the offensive plays versus Yoder's 9%. http://profootballfocus.com/pstats.php?gameid=1497

Haven't seen any transactions in the past week moving anyone from the practice squad or free agent signings.

wouldn't that be good (for fantasy) since they won't try to keep him in to pass block?

Anybody else heard anything lately? The above article seems like it was from right after the surgery, which was a month ago.

Jamaal Charles had a bye last week and so might have been skipped in some waiver runs last week. He'll get at least one start, right?

Casey is supposed to be out a few weeks which makes Dreessen the guy right now..

No love for Vince Young? Not the hardest schedule in the world. For start 2 QB leagues finding someone to plug in with the generally horrible QB play on at least 10 teams he should be mentioned.

He did yesterday. He has been fumbling all year and has not had a game this entire year that matches Moats' performance yesterday. I'm sure Slayton will still get carries, but it is not a stretch to think Moats gets at least half the carries (more if he continues playing like yesterday).

fred davis was a product of the opponent. the eagles simply can not stop opposing TEs. i don't know if reid doesn't give a crap, but they light up the eagles. latest example - kevin boss sunday. next example - jason witten.
