Waiver Wire: Week 2! (1 Viewer)

I'm in a 14 teamer, 25 roster spots, and I'm keeping an eye on:

Ryan Garko- Just like the look of him, hasn't taken off yet in Cleveland, but they haven't hit a groove yet but I think he could be a comer

Ryan Theriot- Chicago Cub 2b, I've not seen any games, but following the stat lines a little bit of baseball tonight hype, I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on him

John Buck- KC Catcher, again haven't seen him play yet, but he's putting wood on the ball

Fausto Carmona- Impressed me versus the Yankees, especially after recovering from a rocky first. Small sample size, but he's got stuff and I think he could be worth watching. Maybe not there yet, watch his next start or two, but I know he was hyped coming up, but he's young.

Brian Bruney/Sean Henn- If your league credits holds, which they haven't exactly wracked up yet, but if you do as mine does, keep both these guys on your radar. Showing nice control and they figure to get a lot of work and added responsibility

David Aardsma- Can't take credit here, there's a thread about him, but he's basically living up to the hype. Ditto more of player in "hold" leagues, but the stats are there. Haven't watched him myself yet though

And I hate to say it, but...

Sammy Sosa- Hey, he's getting it done. Don't know how long it can last, but I'll take my chances in that ball park.

I'm a big fan of Chad Gaudin, middle reliever cum starter for Oakland right now. He's always had good K rates, and his GB/FB is over 2 right now.

Only problem with Buck is he's playing every other day right now. That might change if he keeps hitting the way he is. But he's known to have hot and cold streaks so buyer beware.

i drafted theriot and as long as he gets abs, he'll be productive. soriano is back tomorrow/tuesday so he won't get to bat leadoff anymore. can't argue with more than a steal a week and i think he's set for about 20 more. can't expect much more than that, though. very little power and few rbis.

Gotta add Hideki Okajima to this list in Hold leagues. Not a bad pickup overall though, as you have to think he'd have an inside track if Pap went down.
