Jeff help me out with this would you. All my RB's have not so great matchups and some have injuries to boot. I am trying to decide between these 4 in standard scoring no PPR league.MBIIIPortisDeangelo WilliamsWarrick DunnThanks
I do not know how many you need, so I would order them:WilliamsDunnMB3PortisPitt and Bal allow very few rush yards or TDs.

Hi Jeff, its palyoff time. I cant believe I landed 2nd in my division with this team. This is a non-ppr redraft league. We start 1RB and 3WR, no TE but 1 flex RB/WR/TE so I can go 2RB 3WRTE or 1 RB 4 WR/TE.at RB I have: Barber, Hillis, LJ, Pierre Thomas, Mew Moore and Kevin Smithat WR/TE I have: Bowe, Isaac Bruce, Holt and Winslow. So I am thinking about dropping Winslow for Carlson or M.Floyd, which one would you go after. I think I want to drop Moore for another WR/TE but not sure who if if I should even bother. It is a 14 team league and it is slim pickings. Crayton is available as is S.Rice, Hilliard, N.Washington, Gaffney, Jason Hill, etc and at TE, Shiancoe, Scheffler, Z.Miller, Heap, Boss, Olsen.Do any of these seem appealing to you. or someone not mentioned. You can get an idea of what is out there.
I like Hillis and LJ this week at RB. At WR, I like Bruce a lot this week. I do not have much faith in Holt this week and Winslow is prob done for the year. Scheffler is a good play this week so I would drop Winslow for him. I would then play Bowe even though the matchup is not great. He has as good of a shot as these others. The other TEs are good options in leagues that must start a TE, but not compared to WR/TEs. A couple of sleepers this week IF VERY DESPERATE are Gaffney against a bad Seattle pass defense and Jason Hill against the Jets.Players to look for on waiver:Davone BessJustin GageMichael Jenkins

Hi Jeff,

(Standard scoring, non-PPR, 6/TD, 1/10yards)

Tough decision at RB for me this week. I've got Slaton (@GB) starting, given that GB's run defense is so bad this year. At my other RB spot is either the unpredictable Westbrook (@NYG) and Jacobs (vs. PHI), both going against decent run defenses. Which one do I start? (Pick 2)

At WR, I'm thinking about going with Colston (vs. ATL), and starting AJohnson (@GB) over ABryant (@CAR). Both face tough pass defenses, but I think I like my chances with Johnson. Your thoughts? (Pick 2)

Finally, I've ridden Akers all season, and he has produced surprisingly well, but it sounds like the end of the line. I want to pick up Carney (vs. PHI) but I'm afraid he'll be benched for Tynes again. I also can pick up Longwell (@DET).

In my other league, I've got the same old problem with three stud WRs, all with great matchups this week:

Pick 2

White (@NO)

Wayne (vs. CIN)

R.Moss (@SEA)

That's a lot of questions, but it's do-or-die time, and I can always do with your insight.

Thanks!

Morning Jeff,

6 pt for TD pass, 1 point for 25 yard passing. (Heavy TD)

Rivers vs. OAK

Mannings vs. CIN

Hi Jeff!

I just have to ask if you have any thoughts on Bush or Thomas versus Atlanta in New Orleans this weekend?

If Deuce is really suspended (the Williams' in Minn apparently have temporary injunction or something so they can play), my thought was that Thomas would be the guy for most of the RB carries, as well as any goal line stuff. I assume he'll also catch several passes even with Reggie playing. And if Deuce isn't suspended, I'm not as sure, but am still inclined to go with Pierre since I didn't see all that much in Deuce that last game.

Yet my Lineup Dominator likes Reggie by a few points over Pierre?

Am I missing anything here? I'm wondering if you have any info that would talk me out of Pierre over Reggie this weekend.

Thanks again! (non-PPR league, 6 pts for TD's rushing or receiving)

I agree on Slaton. For RB2, I think I would go with Westbrook since he is healthy. This is one that could go either way, but Westbrook's receiving skills should mean he does not have a bad game.At WR, hard to argue with Colston and AJohnson.

At kicker, I like Longwell this week in the dome.

For the other league, it is tough. I think I would go with Moss regardless. He plays one of the worst pass defenses. For the other, I like White. Wayne has not been himself of late.

I do not think Deuce will play, but who knows. For carries/production, I would guess:Bush gets 12-15 touches and 70ish combined yards with a .5 chance of a TDThomas gets 15 carries and a couple of catches for a combined 65 yards and a .7 chance of a score. It is real close. NO usually runs the ball 22-25 times a game and averages 1.2 a game. So, my numbers look about right above for the game.

Hi Jeff, thanks for looking! My team & scoring (TD-heavy) is in my sig. Must set full lineup by 7pm EST tonight.

I'm up against the top scoring team in my league this week. Here is his starting team:

QB Warner (is benching Romo this week)

RB ADP, Turner

WR LMoore, SMoss, TO

PK Hanson

TD Jets

I've pretty much decided to go with:

RB Jacobs, LJ

WR Fitz, Johnson, Cotchery

TD Giants

Need to pick between:

QB Big Ben (in PIT with iffy weather, facing DAL pass rush)

QB Thigpen (@DEN, good weather predicted but LJ may run all over them)

QB Cassell (@SEA, could get an early lead then run the ball a lot)

not considering Schaub, may be rusty

and

PK Crosby (GB weather)

PK Gostkowski (same issue as Cassell, but Herman has him #1 this week)

Thanks for your input!!!

I like Gostkowski. I guess I am nostalgic on how the Cardinals lit the Seahawks up.At QB, it comes down to Thiggy or CasselSeattle is one fo the worst pass defense teams. Here are some numbers for you:Last four weeks:Sea pass defense averages: 285 yards and 1.5 TDs given upDenver pass defense averages: 224 yards and .8 TDs yielded per game. This is just a gut feeling, but I think LJ has a monster game. The one thing Thigpen gives is rushing yards of 20+ yds.Good luck.

M Barbara @ PITT

C Taylor @ DET- like

I like Gostkowski as well. Besides, the latest forecast for GB is clear but a HIGH of 17. I don't care if they keep the kicking balls protected or not, by the time it's put into play and snapped, that has to be like kicking a brick. I think I'll take the 49 with 40% chance of rain in Seattle this weekend. As far as Cassell goes, I like the 2x as many TDs given up by SEA. Cassell it is then.I also like LJ to have a huge game this weekend at DEN. I'll probably need it to counteract ADP against DET.Thanks Jeff !!!!! Good luck to everyone out there!

Ryan at QB. The only one to start Hillis over would be Westy (due to matchup). Selvin Young is back on a limited level. This is very close.

For me, this comes down to Bowe vs Morris. It is very close. NE does not give up many rushing TDs, but the Den defense has allowed only one TD to WRs since their week eight bye. I think I might go with Morris since he will have a better shot at getting yards with run and receiving. But, very close. Could go either way.

Jeff,Need some help on trying to pick some starters for this week. Standard yahoo scoring with 1 pt per 25 return yards as well.Need 2 RB, 3 WR, 2 RB/WR FlexRBs: Portis, MBIII, Forte, Slaton, K SmithWRs: Calvin Johnson, TJ Housh, Cotchery, Bryant, Ginn JrI'm thinking I'll start Slaton, Forte, K Smith, Calvin Johnson, Cotchery, Ginn, and BryantI have 3 QBs (Favre, Cassel, and Eli). I'm thinking of dropping Favre for Miami defense (my defense is Pittsburgh).
I think I like Houshy more than Ginn. For some reason, I have a tough time seeing huge games out of Ginn. Houshy and the Bengals will be playing from behind against the Colts. For the QBs, I would drop Favre for a spare defense. But, if the weather is bad in Pitt, and MB3 is out ... could be a good matchup for Pitt
Our playoffs are week 15 and 16. The available defenses are:ChargersMiamiArizonaDallasBuffaloThoughts?

sadly, the steelers have two not so great matchups those weeks in Balt and Tenn. Miami has the best schedule with the 49ers and KC. AZ has Minny and NE. I Week 15 at home vs Minny is a great matchup, but the AZ defense is not great on road.

Jeff - Am I crazy for considering sitting Lynch for Sammy Morris.

I have to start 3 of the following RBs:

Portis, Lynch, Turner, Hillis, S. Morris, Norwood.

Turner and Hillis are locks for me, but I'm not sure about Lynch. I don't like that they aren't really playing at home and it's against a Miami D that's pretty good at stopping the run and there is the concern about the back spasms.

Morris has a good match-up, but you never know how many touches he will get.

I'm playing the highest scoring team in the league, so I need some upside here.

I appreciate your input.

Lynch should have more upside, especially given the few touches any of the NE backs get. One thing on Morris is that the Seahawks have given up at least one rushing TD each of the last few weeks. Miami only gave up rushing TDs vs NE in week 12. Other than that game, none since Lynch scored on them in week 8. Lynch had 110+ combined yards and a TD in that game. I think Morris scores but may not get enough carries to get 10 points. Lynch should get that just on yardage.

thig or hill over ryan?Calvin vs Moore?
At QB, all three are great options. I think I would go with Ryan. The Saints have yielded 20+ points to quarterbacks almost every week. At wr, it would be tough for me to bench Calvin after he had 4/85/1 last time the Lions faced the Vikings.

Jeff thanks for your reply. I benched Portis week 14 and it looks like it will work out. I only need 8 points from Dunn, Deangelo Williams and Steve smith tonight to seal my victory so thanks. Any way on the subject of Portis and looking ahead to week 15. The Skins are facing the Bengals in a must win situation and that looks like a great matchup for Portis. I am a bit worried however they will save CP for the Philly game since the Skins could probably beat the Bengals without CP. Have you heard anything about the possibility of Portis sitting in week 15 or should I start him with confidence?

Stellar call on Westbrook over Jacobs. I know you can't predict Jacobs going down with that knee injury in the 3rd quarter, but it certainly seemed prescient. Thanks! :lmao:

So, you get to keep all players that fit under the cap? that is good. Drew Brees $16 (possibly going up to $20)Marshawn Lynch $20Maurice Jones-Drew $18Larry Fitzgerald $17Calvin Johnson $12 (likely going up to $15)Stewart and Evans would be top of my list. I would order the next:MendenhallGatesMcFaddenMaroneyRoyDelhommeI like the price on Mendenhall so I would try to trade the others. Mendenhall would be a good guy to wait until the last bit to see what the cap numbers will be. I only like him because of the price/upside ratio. The other five should have decent trade value.
Thanks! I have paired my roster down by trading for future picks and am now under the cap. I appreciate your help.

Hi Jeff!

Thanks for the thoughts along the way, and I sure appreciate this option for a second opinion. Like most folks, I still make my own decisions and don't look back, but at the same time, I love hearing a different perspective. So I have some RB and TE questions.

RB – Lynch wasn't very good this last weekend, after being pretty special for several weeks, so I'll probably go with him again. He'll start along with Forte, and then I'll probably go with Pierre Thomas over Bush on Thursday. "Play your Studs" seems like good advice, but I guess I can't figure out if Bush or Pierre is my stud in this instance.

1. So any thoughts on Thomas or Bush?

2. They play at Chicago, and I wonder if there is any logic in playing both of them? I'd bench Lynch who plays at the NYJ.

TE – I'm starting to think that "targets" is a pretty good indicator of success for WR's and TE's, and am inclined to go with Carlson this weekend. It's only a one game sample, but Carlson had 9 targets last week, Daniels had 6, and Boss had one. Seattle plays at St Louis, and they have both been struggling. Daniels has Tennessee at home, and Boss plays at Dallas, both fairly good defenses, although I have no idea how they do against the TE in particular.

3. Is my logic sound on Carlson, or does one of the others stand out to you this weekend?

12 person redraft, NO PPR, 1 point/25 yards passing, 4pts/passing TD, 1pt/10 yards rushing or receiving, 6pts/TD. Start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1RB/WR flex, 1TE, 1K, 1DEF

My roster: QB P. Manning, Campbell, RB Lynch, Forte, Bush, Thomas, F. Jackson WR R. Wayne, A. Boldin, Mark Bradley TE Daniels, Carlson, Boss PK Vinatieri, Def Ravens.

Thanks again!

Playoff time and could use some advice. 16 team dynasty - bonus scoring.

RB .05 per reception .01 per yard running/receiving 30 yard or less TD 6 over 30 yds 8 pts - bonus for 100 yard game

WR 1.00 per recption .01 per yard receiving/rushing 30 yard or less TD 6, over 30 yds 8 pts - bonus for 100 yard game

Very tough match-ups for my team. Pretty evenly matched against my opponent, but he has stud offensive players and I have more stud defensive players

My starting QBs - chose 1

is Rivers @ Chiefs

or Gus Frerrotte/T Jackson @ Cardinals

I need to choose 2 RB and 3 WR

My RBs :

R Grant at Jacksonville

AP @ Cardinals

P Thomas @Bears

C Benson vs Redskins

Brandon Jackson @ Jacksonville

My WR's :

K Walter vs Titans

Lance Moore @ Bears

Hines Ward @ Ravens

Jordy Nelson @ Jacksonville

Chris Henry vs Redskins

my starting TE is Shiancoe @ Cardinals

kicker:

Bironas @Houston

Reed @ Titans

then I start 1 DT - 2 DE 4 LB and 2 CB and 2 safeties

I am up against these guys offensively - I bolded who I think he'll start.

Bollinger, Brooks DAL QB 5.15 10 FA

Cassel, Matt NEP QB 230.10 4 FA

Playoff time and could use some advice. 16 team dynasty - bonus scoring.

RB .05 per reception .01 per yard running/receiving 30 yard or less TD 6 over 30 yds 8 pts - bonus for 100 yard game

WR 1.00 per recption .01 per yard receiving/rushing 30 yard or less TD 6, over 30 yds 8 pts - bonus for 100 yard game

Very tough match-ups for my team. Pretty evenly matched against my opponent, but he has stud offensive players and I have more stud defensive players

My starting QBs - chose 1

is Rivers @ Chiefs

or Gus Frerrotte/T Jackson @ Cardinals

I need to choose 2 RB and 3 WR

My RBs :

R Grant at Jacksonville

AP @ Cardinals

P Thomas @Bears

C Benson vs Redskins

Brandon Jackson @ Jacksonville

My WR's :

K Walter vs Titans

Lance Moore @ Bears

Hines Ward @ Ravens

Jordy Nelson @ Jacksonville

Chris Henry vs Redskins

my starting TE is Shiancoe @ Cardinals

kicker:

Bironas @Houston

Reed @ Titans

then I start 1 DT - 2 DE 4 LB and 2 CB and 2 safeties

I am up against these guys offensively - I bolded who I think he'll start.

Bollinger, Brooks DAL QB 5.15 10 FA

Cassel, Matt NEP QB 230.10 4 FA

Hill, Shaun SFO QB 110.10 9 FA

O'Sullivan, J.T. SFO QB 102.50 9 FA

Romo, Tony DAL QB 222.85 10 FA

I think you have to go with Rivers and hope that the young Chief defense can slow LT down. This could be a good game for Rivers. I think I would go with AP and Grant. The Bears are a tough matchup for the Saint RBs. At WR, Ward should be the obvious choice, but the stinker of a game last week gave reason for pause. I still think the odds are with Ward more than Nelson who is the WR4 in GB. I like Bironas this week.Good luck.

The Bears are good against the run (except when they play against Peterson). I think I would only want one dog in that fight. It is a tough call. The weather will be cold and maybe nasty with the wind.

Carlson has been playing well. Keep an eye on the injury issue of Hasselbeck. Carlson is a much better play with Hasselbeck playing than Wallace.

12 person redraft, NO PPR, 1 point/25 yards passing, 4pts/passing TD, 1pt/10 yards rushing or receiving, 6pts/TD. Start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1RB/WR flex, 1TE, 1K, 1DEF

My roster: QB P. Manning, Campbell, RB Lynch, Forte, Bush, Thomas, F. Jackson WR R. Wayne, A. Boldin, Mark Bradley TE Daniels, Carlson, Boss PK Vinatieri, Def Ravens.

Thanks again!
Good luck. This is a big week in fantasy ....

Thanks Jeff - appreciate the advice - it is a huge week - win and on to the championship - lose and go home with a 12-1 record and number 1 seed (happened to me last season) I don't want a repeat this season. But am afraid it could happen again.

Ok so I'm in a 12 team, PPR, 6PER TD, -2 INT, 1PT PER 25 PASS/ 1PT PER 10 RUSH LEAGUE

Some of my Biggest Decisions:

Peyton Manning vs. Detroit or Rivers @ KC (I'm leaning Manning but a huge lead and maybe he won't be passing as much?)

RB - Need 1 I'm starting Tomlinson @ KC then it's between Lynch @ NYJ (tough run d, maybe no QB again, Isn't raking up receptions) Addai vs. Det (has had cake matchups the last two weeks and barely sees the field, does it catches though) or Jonathan Stewart vs Denver (at home, but will he get the touches, I see a close game with maybe 10 carries?)

WR - Andre Johnson is in, Larry Fitzgerald is in, WR 3 ???? Lee Evans @ NYJ (coming off a stinker) Cotchery vs Buffalo (needs the targets) Santonio Holmes @ Balt (I do get 1pt per 20 PR yards but wont see anything past Ed Reed) or Avery vs. Seattle, could lay a 2-17 day or go big)

Flex- basically it's between the RB's you didn't pick and the WR's you didnt pick.

Kicker - I have Gostikowski @ Oakland in or would you go with Josh Brown at home vs. Seattle?

DST - I'm using SD @ KC

TE - Kevin Boss because Winslow is hurt and I don't trust V. Davis

ALL Help an anaylsis is appreciated.

Hey Jeff, need some help.

12 team H2H auction Keeper. Keep 3 players for max of 3 years. Can keep unlimited number of rookies(salary depends on round taken 10 for 1st, 5 for 2nd, etc)

Scoring:

1 pt/25 yds passing

6 pts/rushing td

6 pts/catching td

1 pt/10 yrd receiving

1 pt/10 yds rushing

Basic scoring for DEF and K

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 4 WR(TE's also WR), 1 K, 1 DEF.

QB- Rodgers($3), Collins($1), (Thigpen $6)

RB- Lynch($48), Chris Johnson(5 years at 10/yr), Lewis($22), Warrick Dunn($10), and Fred Jackson($1)

WR- Moss($40), Calvin Johnson($20), Chris Cooley($11) D. Mason($3), L. Moore($3), M. Clayton($3),

K- Rackers($1)

DEF- Jets($1)

Rookie Squad: Malcolm Kelly, Early Doucet, Josh Johnson

Finished 1st in my division(10-4) and I am in the first round of playoffs and looking with some starter help as well as some waiver wire help. I think I definately need some depth at RB and WR.

Some possible WW pickups:

QB: Seneca Wallace

RB: Tatum Bell, and not a whole lot more here.(Weaver, D. Foster, G. Russell) I have around 33 of bling bidding dollars left. Should I drop anyone for Bell?

WR: Braylon Edwards(someone actually dropped him to make some salary room, great matchup against Cinci in week 16 if I make it), Hilliard, R. Williams(JAC)

DEF: Seahawks have STL this week, Houston has Oakland next week.

I am pretty much at the Cap Limit so I might need to drop some players to pick up others, is Braylon worth picking up and if so who should I drop. Thinking I could drop both Lewis and Cooley and pick up Bell and Edwards but for how much?

Thanks Jeff

I think Manning with Addai nicked.

RB - Need 1 I'm starting Tomlinson @ KC then it's between Lynch @ NYJ (tough run d, maybe no QB again, Isn't raking up receptions) Addai vs. Det (has had cake matchups the last two weeks and barely sees the field, does it catches though) or Jonathan Stewart vs Denver (at home, but will he get the touches, I see a close game with maybe 10 carries?) It comes down to Addai or Stewart for me. It is close for me and much will depend on Addai's health as we will know more on Thurs or Fri.

Seattle, could lay a 2-17 day or go big) I like Evans vs the Jets after the way that the 49ers lit up the Jet DBs

Flex- basically it's between the RB's you didn't pick and the WR's you didnt pick. I would go with the "other RB" as long as Addai is healthy. For me, relying on Cotchery is worse than Addai.

Kicker - I have Gostikowski @ Oakland in or would you go with Josh Brown at home vs. Seattle? Gostkowski

DST - I'm using SD @ KC

TE - Kevin Boss because Winslow is hurt and I don't trust V. Davis

Good luck. Answers above in red

Jeff,

need some help here on who to start and then who to pick up for a kicker.

Traditional yahoo scoring with 25 pts per return as well. Need to start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 2 RB/WR Flex, K, D

My team:

QB: Cassel, Eli

RB: Portis, MBIII, Forte, Slaton, K Smith

WR: Calvin Johnson, TJ Housh, Cotchery, A Bryant, T Ginn

K: Feely

D: Miami and Pittsburgh

I don't think I want to start Feely, and some available kickers are: Carney, Suisham, and Vinatieri.

Thoughts?
