Warner signs 2 year deal with Cardinals (1 Viewer)

The Arizona Cardinals and Kurt Warner agreed Wednesday to a two-year deal, $23 million deal, according to his agent, Mark Bartelstein. He will have $19 million of the contract guaranteed.

Under the terms of the deal, Warner will receive a $15 million signing bonus and $4 million base in each of the two seasons.

"Kurt and I are appreciative of the way the Rod Graves and the Cardinals resolved the negotiations," Bartelstein said.

Just heard Warner offered to take 1 million less per year if the Cardinals make a deal to keep Boldin happy.

Good for him. He obviously wanted to be in Arizona, so better to take a little less money than he could have gotten somewhere else and really enjoy his last two years........

I am glad this happened...as I kept Fitz in one of my leagues for a first round pick...it was the 1.12...but it makes me feel better.

Good. Id like to see the Cardinals build on their success from the past year. Lord knows their fans deserve it...

Leinart can't be too happy to hear this.
Do the cards keep Leinart? he was the 10th pick in the draft and while I don't know the specifics, I'd imagine his contract is going to start escalating.
This is the third thread I'm posting this in but although I may be in the minority, I'd like the Bears to make a move for him. I think he still has a lot of potential.
I think Matty would fit pefectly into the long line of great Bears QBs.

How high a draft pick is "potential" worth?I'm guessing it's low enough that the reward for the Cardinals shipping him off is not enough to make it worth entirely giving up on the guy.
