Warren Sapp was arrested in Phoenix this morning for soliciting a prostitute around 7AM ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Sapp was also arrested for assault.

The 42-year-old "Dancing with the Stars" alum was booked just a few minutes ago.

Sapp was in Phoenix covering the Super Bowl for the NFL Network.

It's not Warren's first arrest -- he was busted in 2010 for domestic battery, but those charges were eventually dropped. He was also arrested for an alleged domestic battery in Miami in 2014.

Don't think he's a scumbag for getting a prostitute but there's only way thing that makes you want to bang one at 7am.

Great year for the NFL eh? Just spitballing here, but I'm guessing this won't get much coverage on The NFL Network. Can't wait to hear more verbal diarrhea and diatribes against Belichik and Brady. "Integrity" and "Cheating" my ###!

Wow, the guy gets caught trying to buy a piece and now he's a coke addict. I can't stand the phony but I'm not adding up this conclusion.

Super Bowl host city's are sausage festivals. Even a celeb can have trouble hooking up, massive supply vs demand problem.

As an example I was in New Orleans for the Super Bowl in 2002. Remember standing on a balcony looking over the crowd and telling friend of mine I was with that I'd never seen so few women to men on a night out in my entire life. Around 5-6 am we came across an Asian massage parlor and my friend, who was not on any drugs, wanted to check it out. Asian lady who answered the door just said something like "we tired, we tired, no more, no more" and shut the door on us.

Yeah, kind of unfair to jump to conclusions like that, and smear a guy's reputation, with no evidence.

Pretty much every year, the Feds bust some kind of massive sex trafficking ring in the Super Bowl city. Read about one in Phoenix a few days ago. They're imported for the week from all over the world.

He could have ended Clifton's career with the #### he pulled on the field. No one will feel any sympathy now that he's tossed his own career under the bus.

 
twitter saying that female called police to Sapp's room. She was booked for prostitution, he was booked for assault and solicitation.

Somewhere that waitress that he wouldn't tip is laughing her butt off.

LOL. You express enough moral outrage over alleged deflated footballs to power a small city. Then an employee of the NFL network gets busted for assault and prostitution, on the day of the year when there are more acts of domestic violence by far than any other, and you make a statement like that? Classic.

Cops say two women told police they were at the hotel "as escorts" and went to Sapp's room, where an argument broke out over money.

And he didn't get busted on the street, he was already in his hotel room.

Update (3:52 p.m.): A sergeant from the Phoenix Police Department sent a summary of the events. Sapp allegedly assaulted two women working as prostitutes in a hotel room after an argument about money, according to officers at the hotel:

On February 2, 2015 at 2:30 a.m. Phoenix Police officers working security at a Downtown Phoenix hotel were investigating a noise disturbance when they were contacted by a female alleging she had been assaulted. The incident was alleged to have occurred in a guest room, after meeting in the lobby while she and another female were there as escorts. During a meeting in the room, an argument ensued, allegedly over money and the altercation turned physical, spilling out into the hallway.

During the investigation detectives were able to establish that an act of prostitution occurred in the room by at least one of the females. Sapp was detained and transported to Phoenix Police Headquarters. While there he was questioned and admitted involvement in the act of prostitution, but denied assaulting the females. Minor injuries consistent with a struggle, were observed by investigators on both females.

Sapp was transported to the Maricopa County Jail and booked on charges of Soliciting Prostitution and two counts of assault, both misdemeanor offenses.

One female was cited for one count of Prostitution and released, the second female left the scene prior to detectives arrival but was later located at a Peoria hotel. She was interviewed, and cited for a violation of the City's escort permit requirements and released.
