Miami Dolphins new HC Cam Cameron had this to say about his 2nd round draft pick, QB John Beck from BYU. "Other than JaMarcus Russell, We think all of the quarterbacks were very smart players. Beck is extremely bright but it is accuracy that jumped out to me. He has uncanny accuracy under pressure and he has a unique ability to get teammates to play together well."

Do you think he actually meant to publicly say he wasn't bright?

Maybe they had no interaction with Russell since they knew he wouldn't be there at #9. Maybe the other than was simply because he was always excluded from their plans.

I read that article and immediately came here to see if that comment jumped out at anybody else.

Not sure what his intentions were, but definitely an odd thing to say.

I saw Cameron on an NFL Network interview during the draft...he separated Russell from everybody else, treating Russell as though he was the lone top-tier QB, and all the other QBs were in the second tier. I think that is what he was trying to get across; just came out garbled.

That's how I would interpret it.I am so happy that I am never on TV and every pronouncement of mine pored over for hidden meanings. We all misspeak at times, and don't say exactly what we mean.

No he didntHe picked the whole Ginn family I dont care if he thinks jr will be the best football player ever thats fine but to say "we drafted the whole ginn family" and "ive known them for years"is just stupid...makes him look shady and political....not sure how the team will react to coach picking a guy because he is a friend.

obviously the Fish weren't interested in him or weren't going to have a shot at him. Just to play along though, I think Cam is just plain stupid for taking Ginn at #9..
