Was your season over on draft night if... (1 Viewer)

you drafted A.Foster, D.Martin, R.Rice, T,Richardson, CJ Spiller?

Just wondering if your season was over if you drafted and kept these guys all season. By over, I mean not making the playoffs. If you traded any of these guys early on, you do not count.

I drafted Rice late in the first and had Spiller as a keeper. I've managed but it wasn't the season I was expecting.

I won 3rd place with Spiller. But it was a 10-team league so I had depth.

This is why I usually go WR-WR. I would've taken Foster or Martin but beyond that I'd rather take the surefire WR and forget about it.

Drafted Spiller 1.05 (thrown for a loop when my target McCoy went 2nd overall).

Clawed my way to a playoff spot with some good WW adds, cuffing Spiller with FJax and some good trades, but was dispatched early in the postseason.

Made it to two title games with rice and almost made four of four. One of the finals had rice and Richardson.

I drafted C.J. in a 16 teamer, kept him all year and am still in it (although squeaking along by just a couple of points most weeks - and this weekend was only our semis. (Riding Mathews, Gordon, A.Brown and Allen, and with luck Crabtree tonight.)

Took Richardson first round of two leagues and also got Spiller in then second round of one of those leagues. Both leagues ten teamers. League one with both of them, I traded Richardson for Julio the week before he broke his foot. Still felt I got the better deal. Finished 10-4 #1 seed but got "Charlesed" week 15. Just lost consolation game to Manning owner so I finished 4th.

In league 2 I traded Richardson and Matt Ryan straight up for Rodgers. Rodgers went on to break his collarbone as you all know. I got Foles and went on to win it all in this league!

The big key for me though was both teams had Graham, Gordon and Garson. This had a lot to do with my success.

I drafted Spiller at 1.05 in a 14 teamer and won my Championship yesterday. Offset the bad pick with a Zac Stacy pickup.

Took Rice in one, Spiller in the other of my 2 money leagues. Made the playoffs in both, had a bye even in one. Both of them sucking (even though both were on my bench) and combination of other injuries (Gronk) or injuries impacting my players (see: Nelson, Jordy) left me hard pressed to win a title.

I kept both Spiller and Martin in my 10 team keeper. I still managed to finish 3rd in scoring (thanks to Peyton and Megatron) but somehow missed the playoffs.

Just horrible matchup/injury luck all season.

Drafted Rice @ 1.09 (12 team redraft)...I know hindsight is 20/20, but I took him over Shady (who got taken the next pick). I replay that moment in my mind. I still sneaked into the playoffs, and am going to lose in the championship game (it's a formality...I'm down 21 w/ Vernon left, opponent has Boldin + Dawson going). I picked up Keenan Allen, who solidified my WR corps; Lacy I drafted & he took the sting away from my Rice pick; also picked up Ellington & used him his big game against Atl, led me to a win).

Oh yeah, I also took Ridley w/ 3.09 (yeah, he fell that far in my draft; only reason I took him; saw it as a "value" pick).

So basically, I gave away my 1st round pick, and my 3rd Rd pick was only useful (to me) 2 weeks (I didn't start him often because I didn't trust BB. I am going to lose the 'ship largely because my opponent had Shady. FML

Was lucky enough to start McCoy / Rice from the 7th spot in a 12 team PPR but managed to work trades and the WW aggressively to finish 2nd. It was Calvin's misfortunes this week that likely meant the difference between 1st and 2nd for me.

In a league I didn't win, I drafted Rice, just scored 200 in the 3rd place game... The championship game final score was in the 130's. If I would've gone Charles instead, I might've had the greatest team ever. Huge mistake, I though Roce was the safe pick

I was able to offset Rice with a roulette wheel of P Thomas, Sproles and D Williams....what I could not offset was having Cobb, Bowe, and Wallace as my WR corps.

Drafted Foster. If Vernon Davis gets held under 10 pts I win the championship.

It helped that I drafted Jimmy Graham 2nd and picked up the KC defense.

I picked at the turn and drafted Spiller and Richardson back to back. I unfortunately lost in the semis, but ended up as the #2 see with Leveon and Gio at RB. First 2 picks can't get much worse than that, but you're season is never over on draft night.

Had Richardson as my RB2. Vereen as RB3. Behind Charles. Started 1-6. Winning the title tonight with Charles and my RB4, whom I tried like hell to trade for someone better, Joique Bell.

Drafted Martin #2 and Richardson #19 in a 10 teamer. Thought I was going to have a killer year at RB.

Did not trade either of them, In the finals in a 2 week playoff (16 and 17)

I'm still not sure how I did it.

I drafted rice AND Richardson as my dynamic rb 1/2 and did not make the playoffs. Thought when trich was traded there would be hope but those two guys sucked all the life out of my team.

Just finished a 13-3 season with Richardson as my #1 and D. Wilson as my #3 pick.

Out of my 11 re-draft leagues, I drafted one of those 5 guys in 8 of them. Out of those 8 leagues I made the playoffs in 5 with one Championship. Not as good a year as I had hoped but I did make a profit overall. I did better in the other 3 leagues (where I drafted McCoy) though.

Drafted TRich #2 in a 12 team PPR. 14-2 and champion. Luckily, Gordon and DJax were beasts all year. TRich saw my lineup twice before sitting the bench the rest of the year.

"Surefire" and "WR" seem like a contradiction of terms. That's actually how I played it this year but it was not the norm.

Kept Doug Martin and drafted Ray Rice in the first round.

I made it to the championship round as the #4 seed but lost pretty handily.

I made it by drafting Eddie Lacy, and most of all picking up Moreno after the week 1.

Drafted Trent in 3 leagues.

Made the finals in 2 of them...won one of them.

Helps that I backed those up with other good draft picks or moves (Calvin, Lacy, Moreno, Foles)

Had Richardson as my RB2. Vereen as RB3. Behind Charles. Started 1-6. Winning the title tonight with Charles and my RB4, whom I tried like hell to trade for someone better, Joique Bell.
Joique was quietly huge these last few weeks. However, I bet he rode the pine in most leagues...there was very little notification for him to be put in lineups for Bush for the snow game and I doubt he started much this week either aside from a few flexes.

Winning roster in our $1250 FFPC Draftmasters. Won the league by a whopping 225 points. Had we taken Charles over AP and Foles over Gerhart, it would have been a 400+ point differential.

by order of Rd. drafted.

Adrian Peterson-avoided a landmine in Rd.1 and performed well enough
Maurice Jones-Drew-perfect best ball RB2
Alfred Morris-steady Eddie at 12ppg
Shane Vereen-could have been even better without the injury
Drew Brees-2nd QB taken and great value in the 5th
Eric Decker-great value as the 24th WR off the board
DeSean Jackson-great value as the 25th WR off the board
Tavon Austin
Golden Tate
Dwayne Allen-ouch
Dallas Clark-meh
Knowshon Moreno- I called out his name during the draft and said "starting RB for the Broncos". People laughed.
Alex Smith-great value
Marcedes Lewis
Seattle
Brandon LaFell
Houston
Robert Woods
Phil Dawson
Adam Vinatieri
Mason Crosby
Zach Ertz
Rod Streater
Luke Stocker
Riley Cooper-great value due to the racial incident
Toby Gerhart- almost took Foles here. He ended up undrafted.

My main 16 team league (8 playoff teams and 3 rounds)....

A.Foster, Team made playoffs, lost round 1. Traded Foster/Tate for L Bell.

D.Martin, Team missed playoffs. Traded Martin away.

R.Rice made playoff lost round 1.

T,Richardson missed playoffs. Also had Ridley.

CJ Spiller playing in a week 17 title game. Traded for and starts Fred Jackson (with Forte) over Spiller.

Had Joique starting. Drafted A. Foster. Got Tate snatched from me by the guy who drafted R. Bush. I picked up Bell as payback. Halfway through the season I (stupidly) turned down a straight up trade, right before Foster got hurt. Dude tried to gouge me for Tate after that so I stuck with Bell.

Thank you Joique.

Three of my seven keepers were TRich, Martin and David Wilson. I still should have made the playoffs as Bush and Lacy became fixtures in my lineup but I lacked quality depth because of those misses and I couldn't sub out of bad matchups. Bush missing that Philly game and Gronk tearing his knee would prove to be my final nails.

I drafted Spiller at 1.06 in a 12 team PPR and won the championship. Also drafted Peyton Manning and Josh Gordon so I had that going for me.

I had one team where my 1st 2 picks were Spiller and Richardson. Ended up winning the whole thing!

Took Rice at 1.07 in my 14 teamer. 5th place in points but missed the playoffs due to dumb luck all season in match ups.

Managed to get to the championship game with a squad that drafted TRich, Roddy White and Hakeem Nicks.

After Week 4 I traded TRich & rowdy Roddy for Doug Martin and Dwayne Bowe. This was not the key move of my season.

Let's just say I was more active on the wire than anyone else and leave it at that. I'm exhausted.

True. I was high on him coming into the year and had him in 3 leagues, 2 without Bush. So I started him as a flex a number of times and got lucky and heard the news about the snow game in time to get him in the lineup.

I drafted Trent Richardson, kept him on my team all season, and won the championship.

I actually pulled Trent off my bench and used him in the flex position Week 15. Trent posted a respectable 15 points during that playoff week.

With all that said, Trent was useless for the money I spent on him.

I drafted Martin and David Wilson. Lost both

Had Moreno and Ball but dropped both before they went on to do well.

My #2 WR Jordy Nelson lost his QB

Scrambled with some trades and waivers to make it to the SB.

Lost to P.Manning & J.Charles owner by 20 points.

All in all not a bad year but certainly would have been Champ if I hadn't lost my 1st round pick.

Spiller was a keeper. Drafted Richardson. Next three picks were Roddy White, Matt Ryan, and Reggie Wayne. So that team was doomed from the start.

Drafted Richardson, Wilson, and Gronk with my first three picks. By drafting Gordon, AJ, and Jordy all fairly late and then picking up Stacy, Andre brown, Kc d, Keenan, and Vereen....I managed to make it to the semis until I ran into a Foles - Charles steamroller who scored by far the most pts in our league history.

My (12 team no ppr) starters at the end of the year were romo, lynch (traded jordy and DMC for him just before their values crashed), Vereen, Calvin (traded AJ and Stacy for him and Tate just before foster got hurt), Gordon, and Pitta. There is hope after a bad draft but it didn't work out for me this year. Next year I am not reaching for risky players with my early picks. I thought I had learned that already but apparently not.

Drafted Martin at #7 and T Richardson at #14 in a ten team league and still made the playoffs, but it was a struggle all year.

In my 16 team redraft, I drafted Richardson, CJ?k, and SJax 1,2,3. Ugh... Still made the Championship game (which I lost). But it was a grind this year. 42 waiver moves

In probably my luckiest fantasy season ever, my first 7 picks were : TRich, Rodgers, Cobb, Gronk, Bradshaw, Garcon, and Daryl Richardson. With a LOT of luck, I managed to win my championship this week without making any trades. Contributions from Rodgers/Jordan Cameron in the 1st half, Gronk in the 2nd half, and Garcon's monster championship week were huge. Also, Keenan Allen was a big acquisition, but to have only 2 of your top 7 picks even PLAYING on the championship (and one being Trent Richardson) just shows how sometimes you just have to have the right matchups.
