Washington at NY Giants (1 Viewer)

Alfred Morris with 2 good runs. Giants defense has paused to play pinochle. Cousins throwing the ball all over the place. Giants INT. This game may set a record for deflections if you count multiple deflections in each play.

Hillis has outplayed him, so I think that's why I think Brown's out. The Redskins are in a "would rather not tackle Hillis or cover Jernigan" defense now.

Jernigan =next year's victor Cruz.
Most people assume Rueben Randle hits big next season. Having watched the last three Giants games....I am not so sure. Jernigan looks studly in the slot, maybe better than Cruz.
Makes Nicks more expendable with Cruz showing he can be the #1 WR, Jernigan taking the slot and Randle taking the role Manningham had. Though in this cast Cruz and Randle are the #1 and #2.

I still hope Nicks stays. But the way he acted this past off-season and the way he didn't shine during the season, I think he was ready to move on before OTAs last spring.

Battle of the s-h-i-t-t-s
Glad to see the expert opinion has arrived.

If I'm Shanahan, I start Cousins, state that he is the better QB anyway, wait to get fired, run to Houston, trade a 6th rounder for Cousins and start over.
Shanahan is going to get Cousins cheap now. All part of his master plan. RG the turd would have fared no better.
Shanahan's going to be gone shortly. Cousins clearly isn't worth more than a 4th round pick now, though some team might offer a 3rd which the Redskins won't take. Shanahan won't get another HC job.

Other than that your theory is flawless though. :lmao:

Jernigan looked good today. I had never heard of the guy before. The Giants have a decent young player there.

I would be stunned if Nicks is re-signed. Even if his market is much weaker than expected, there would still be 2-3 teams willing to pay more than the Giants would.

Just based on the last weeks, Randle did not look like a #2. I agree with the Manningham comparison, but Manningham was the third option most of the time and never a very appealing fantasy starter. If Jerningan can keep playing like he did in the last three weeks, he takes the #2 job. Eli's penchant to throw to slot receivers helps, too.

I hadn't given up on him, feeling he never got much field time with Cruz healthy. But there were some fans on Giant forums calling him a bust and wanting him cut. Even worse were those that wanted Ramses Barden kept over Jernigan. I think some have been to quick to conclude that Jernigan is another Sinorice Moss.

Main reason I don't think Jernigan would be #2 is that his role has been as the slot guy. Cruz unexpectedly being the stud he is caused Jernigan to sit. It remains to be seen if Jernigan can get much play in two WR sets. I don't think he will, and if there isn't a coaching change he might not get the opportunity either. Being a little guy he may struggle if he was where the DB could get hands on him.

It was Randle's 2nd year. Maybe he'll have that 3rd year breakout that many WRs tend to follow in their development.

He was a very enticing slot wr prospect coming out but basically disappeared early. Got hurt, and wasn't needed when nicks was good and Cruz was so hot. Really interesting stash right now considering nicks might be gone

Agree that his biggest challenge will be size. MFL has him listed as 5'8, although just looking at him on the field relative to other players, I am thinking he must be definitely taller than 5 8. He also seems to have a very good rapport with Eli, but then again even I would get targeted by Eli if I played slot.

Either way, this Jernigan kid looked VERY good in the last weeks and is a very intriguing PPR stash. Off-seasons are long and lots of things change, but I wouldn't be surprised if Jernigan leads a lot of sleeper lists next August.

I certainly would love it if he turned into a super smurf like Steve Smith and Santana Moss were for their respective teams. Thankfully he's not a FA till 2015.
