I will be going to Washington in mid April with my wife and kids for three nights. I can book at a corporate rate at any of the following places. Suggestions taking into account location and amentities? All of the nightly rates are between $209-$258. I'd probably defer to the Four Seasons but will listen to local experts.

Avenue Suites Washington DC 2500 Pennsylvania Ave

Club Quarters Washington Dc 839 17th St Northwest

Donovan House Kimpton 1155 14th St Northwest

Doubletree By Hilton Washington Dc 1515 Rhode Island Ave Northwest

Four Seasons Washington Dc 2800 Pennsylvania Ave Northwest

Mandarin Oriental Washington D.C. 1330 Maryland Ave Southwest

Omni Shoreham Hotel 2500 Calvert St Northwest

River Inn 924 Twenty-Fifth St

The Ritz-carlton Georgetown 3100 South St Northwest

The Ritz-Carlton Washington Dc 1150 22nd St Northwest

Hilton 1919 Connecticut Ave Northwest

Willard Intercontinental 1401 Pennsylvania Ave Northwest

If your family is planning to do the usual sightseeing stuff you want the Willard out of that list. You won't sacrifice luxury for location either, it's pretty high end.

Thanks. How's the location of the Four Seasons for sightseeing and family stuff?

It's good for family stuff if your kids are a little older bc it's on the eastern end of Georgetown, so lots of shopping and restaurants and busy sidewalks. Plus you can tell them that they're walking in the hallowed footsteps of FFA legend Scoobygang. Can't really walk to the monuments or the museums, though.

Yeah, I'd also pick the Willard if price isn't a factor.

The Four Season's Georgetown is a bit out of the way for sightseeing. Nothing big, maybe a 3 or 4 block walk to the Foggy Bottom Metro and then a Metro ride.

I haven't seen a room since the re-design. Before the re-design, they were probably the worst Four Season's rooms ever. It does have an excellent restaurant/bar in Bourbon Steak.

The Willard is walking distance to the White House. It's about a block or two from Metro Center, which is the hub that will take you anywhere in the city (except Georgetown). I don't like the Occidental Room / Cafe du Parc as much as Bourbon Steak, but the Round Robin is an excellent bar if you're Old School.

The Ritz on 22nd St. is also very nice, but not in a super convenient place. That goes double for the Mandarin, which boasts one of the best restaurants in the city in CityZen, but isn't near anything.

Yeah, I'd probably go for the Willard based on location too.

On amenities, my wife is a big fan of the spa at the Mandarin, FWIW.

The Willard, and it's not close.

Honestly, I've never stayed at any of those others, but my family stayed at the Willard last mid-April and loved it. A short walking distance from the Mall and all the surrounding attractions. The hotel has a rich history with many presidential, dignitary and celebrity guests over the past 150 years---all on display in the Round Robin bar. And if you're there over Easter weekend, their brunch was incredible---very pricey, but from what I gather that won't matter.

I know it's not on your corporate rate list but it'll likely be in the range of what you're looking at...maybe check out one of the Embassy Suites? You'll get big rooms, a great breakfast included which will save you a lot of money, and snacks for the kids/free drinks for you and your wife early evening at their "manager's reception".

If that Willard Intercontinental is anything like the Intercontinental in Beverly Hills...I'd take it. That hotel was primo.
