What's your opinion on consuming bad movies? Do you still enjoy watching them? How do you determine if a movie is bad?

I watch and rewatch bad movies all the time, just depends on how and why its bad.  Ususally some dumb ### comedy that tickles my funny bone for some reason will keep me coming back even if its dreck.  Something like weekend at bernies for example.

Very low tolerance for bad movies, and getting worse. This is one area of culture i really feel "get off my lawn" about FAST because most films these days are about stealing my money and attention with eye####ing and i just dont play. I cannot process poor movie logic unless the flick has gotten me to want to suspend disbelief pretty damn quickly. Have little nostalgia for old stuff i used to like either. Though i fall asleep to the TV and prefer either black & white movies or history shows to soothe my attention, even some of the older b&ws are now too stagy to be useful to me that way.

I do take great pleasure in watching the very few bad movies (Motel Hell, Born Losers, Ed Wood-ness, some of the Eggplant That Ate Chicago type stuff, Dr Phibes) that have camp quality but dont believe i any longer have the process to embrace that kind of bad in newer flix.

I hate bad movies. Such a waste of time, I rarely can watch even half of a movie if is it bad. Now why I decide a movie is good or bad, that is probably more complicated.

Big fan of 80's and 90's bad action movies - Red Dawn, Commando, Face Off, Road House, Broken Arrow, Twister etc.  I'm not watching them in denial that they are bad, just guilty pleasures.    Watched She's All That this morning on day off. Very bad, but holds up to multiple viewings.

Commando is greatness.

Did you just call Red Dawn a bad movie?

Twister is the only one of those movies I consider bad.

There's not enough time watch all the good movies but there are times where only Cheese will do

Watching some awful Hallmark dreck as we speak

its hit or miss for me, if a movie just sucks,  then im not interested, but if you have something that’s so bad it’s good like Troll 2 or Zoolander I’m all in

I like the way MST did it. If it sucks bad enough, it now changes into comedy.
I've been on a RedLetterMedia kick. Their Best of the Worst shows on YouTube are some of the funniest I've watched in a long time. Similar to MST3k but they pick 3 movies based on some arbitrary theme and either enjoy them as a "so bad it's funny" thing or just end up miserable at how awful the movies are.  Here's some examples.

Best of the Worst - A very Canon Christmas

It has Death Wish 3, the Christmas Tree and Invasion USA.

If my wife likes it, it's bad. And tis the season for horrendous Hallmark channel crap too.
:lmao:  My wife loves those Hallmark channel Christmas movies too. She had some on last week and watches them every night when she goes to bed. I swear they use the same pool of actors AND plot lines for every one of those movies.

Their regular movies do too. Paint by number nanny or sister snatching either hubby or child with a few variations here and there.

Nothing wrong with Red Dawn.

Happy endings abound with a sense of optimism about the future.

I remember watching some random awful movie called “spirit of ‘76” about some people who travel back in time to get a copy of the constitution because society has taken a crap, but instead of going to 1776 they go to 1976. Pretty great time.

Worst movie I ever saw was one I found at the video rental place in the early 90’s. Kevin Costner’s face is on the cover and it’s a baseball movie, so I think it has to be decent.

Costner is in the opening scene and then he’s gone. I watched the whole thing wondering if he’s gonna show back up. Never does and it was pretty awful! IMDB gives it a 3.2 out of 10.
