Watching one game is great (1 Viewer)

####### rules

I frequent my favorite watering hole every Sunday, getting there roughly an hour early to secure a good seat(usually held if I'm running late/hung over).

They show 8-9 games at a time, I can watch each and every game at once(head on a swivel)

Watching just one game at a time, just doesn't cut it anymore

I suggest you all give this a try!!!!

You're welcome

Nothing new here some of us have been doing this for over a decade. The current NFL packages eliminate the need to go to a bar.

I'm in the minority, but I feel the opposite. I just prefer watching one or two. I do like the red zone channel, but would never spring for Sunday ticket for it. With live scoring and 30 minute game recaps, highlights, etc....I don't feel the need to watch 'all' the games.

cant stand redzone . give me one game to dig into and stay from kickoff to end . a 2nd game to go to on comercials . best is get 2 dvr . you can watch 1+ record 3 complete games at 1, and repeat at 415 .

This. All I want is a couple of games and an internet connection. I can pick up other games later in the week on NFL rewind without all the crap in between...

I'm just sharing, I've been going to the same bar since I was 19(I'm 38)The NFL packages out today force you to switch channels to watch games........sans "redzone"

Watching one game at a time is, indeed, awful. I've said before, it's amazing how poplular the NFL is when watching a single game can be so boring with all the commercials.

This is my first season with Sunday Ticket, but I'd usually gone to sports bars to catch them all and that is great. My personal preference is about 3 games, maybe 4. Anything more than that and I find I'm not able to really focus.

The flipping around of the Sunday Ticket will be annoying, but spending 8 hours in a sports bar every sunday has just gotten too exhausting and too expensive.

(I don't have RZ, but I don't think I'd like it anyway.)

The hardest part will be resisting the temptation to fire up the laptop. Football is much more fun without checking fantasy scores every 5 minutes (which I used to take the laptop to the sports bar to do :goodposting: )

Same. Gimme one game on the TV and some boxscores on the computer and I'm good to go.

I've had 9 Tvs set up in my garage for the last 7 years, awesome way to spend Sundays! Bunch of my friends come over and we usually cook out or someone brings food. Everyone brings their own drinks. On top of that I have a computer set up so everyone can check their fantasy scores. I'm currently working on a setup similar to some sports bars with the little game counsels but instead I'm using laptops with a charging station. Everyone who comes will be able to use their own laptop or one I have available via wireless internet! Some of the guys are talking about buying a ticker board... a nice one about 1 foot by 10 feet so we can set that up to just run stats all day lol. It's turning into an awesome event!

I simply don't think it's possible to watch more than two games with anything resembling interest.

Two TV's, maybe a 3rd for RedZone Channel, and laptop checking scores, beyond that, it's too much. For me, anyway.

F-ing trees, ruining my life. Can't wait to get my own place with the Sunday Ticket. Reading some of the set ups that you all have makes me jealous as hell. But I'm happy for you...no, really I am....ok, I hate you.

2 times a month I go to Smokey Bones to chomp down the best rack of baby back ribs in town and watch all the games on multiple screens, chug down frosty mugs of Killians red and hoot it up with my local fantasy league. The other 2 times I am at home on my lazy boy watching the Dolphins and then watching the other games that are on TV plus flipping to the red-zone to get updates.

I will never do the Sunday ticket. I could never surf back and forth between so many games. I rather have all the screens in front of me and focus on what I want.

7 TV's set up in my office along with a 35" monitor works for me...
Pic? Mine is in my sig with the 65" in the middle. I always love to see other setups.
So do you have 9 DirectTv tuners ?
That's what I was wondering...
Update? :excited:
1 triple LNB dish... the coaxial cable feeds into an 8-way multiswitch (which Directv provided), and 8 more cables come out of the multiswitch and into 8 different Directv receivers. That's the only way to get different games on different TVs. Each additional receiver after the HD receiver which feeds the big screen costs $5/month. So it's just $35/month more for seven additional feeds. I cancel the service to those seven receivers when the regular season ends. The 9th TV comes from a cable feed. That TV gets whichever local game FOX or CBS is showing at 1:00.

This. Before the triple LNB dishes were available, I used to have two dishes on the roof. One "dual LNB" dish for the big HDTV, and one for the other TVs. I dunno all the technical stuff, but for some reason once the triple LNB dishes came out, that one dish was all I needed. I think it was because the dual LNB dishes were not capable of independently feeding the 8-way multiswitch, but I'm not 100% certain about that.
