Water Filter Advice (1 Viewer)

i've had a Brita water filter for 15+ years now and it's getting pretty worn out. went to BB&Beyond to see about getting a replacement, and found a whole mess of new brands: Pur, ZeroWater, Soma, etc.

anyone have experience, suggestions, or preferences with which way to go?

I've had a Brita myself. Then I found out it only rids taste contaminants and not actual chemical stuff. I've been looking at the Pur as that stuff appears to actually get rid of the poison junk, mercury, pesticides, etc. That's if you want to deal with that thick Pur filter hanging over your faucet.

We have owned the Zerowater filter for about 3 years at least. It really works and tastes awesome. The filters are pretty pricey ($24 with a coupon for 2) but they generally last about 2 months each.  I have a family of four so that probably matters as far as how much you will use it. I feel like that is a small price to pay for some great tasting water that we use pretty constantly (kids bring it to school in water bottles, sporting events, etc.) The only thing we don't use it for is our ice so we save on some usage/$ there.

The only other one I have used is the Brita and I think Zerowater is better.
