Ways to watch 2014 NFL Draft? (1 Viewer)

I am having a tough time figuring out options to watch the NFL draft. I know it will be live on NFL Network, but I do not have cable and am wondering if it will also be streamed on the NFL network website.

Also, with a Thursday night course, I will have an hour or so where I would like to stream from my phone or tablet. Anyone have insight?

No NFL network for me neither, gotta watch it online.

I wasn't able to watch last year, did they still do that really stupid thing of showing the player on the phone before the pick's announced?

During the draft you can watch their feed at NFL.COM.

Also if you do a search you'll find tons of local radio feeds from your favorite teams. That way you get lots of other rumors and tidbits during the draft that you won't find on ESPN or NFL Network.

Additionally I like to try to find local radio feeds for any teams who have made trades or have drafted players that interest me for fantasy purposes because you get more info that way.

Hope that helps but you can see and hear the draft live at nfl.com they stream it in a little box at the top right of the screen and you can maximize that tiny screen to see it live.

I used to like to go to Saints camp for their draft day event but it's really not worth it for just one pick on day 1 or for the later picks by themselves. It's too bad, it used to be fun.

Now I watch on tv and online and then get on with my day.

I do not have cable.

I would say he's a forward thinker. The move now is away from cable to streaming services. Get away from that overpriced monoply with all their stupid promotions.

Yes. Or allude to what the pick will be. - thanks domvin

About 2 yes ago I cut the cord. I pay 8 for Netflix, 50 for high speed internet, and add the rest to my investment portfolio. Give it another year or two and swarms of people will be cutting the cord as well. Cable will be the dark age before you know it.
Count me in the corner here for cutting cable, and I don't mean to ransack this thread, but what about local channels? You just live without them?

Rabbit ears with the digital reception work fine for me.
Cool, so a Digital Receiver.

Another option would be Sirius XM. Just sign up for a temporary login/trial, and you can listen in on the draft. Audio only of course...

NFLN cut that out 2 years ago, ESPN followed suit last year...although Berman still alludes to the pick as some people have mentioned

Restaurant/bar like Buffalo Wild Wings. Fun to hear all the varying reactions from everyone there. You may miss out on the in-studio commentary if it gets too loud, but some may consider that a good thing.

did the same about 2 or 3 yrs ago but kept the locals, minimal package available. Honestly, for the amount of money whats really on that I need to watch at that moment that I can't stream or dl in a couple of day later. With every other cost I have going up something had to go.

man,OP, I came in here thinking this was going to be fun, like making the draft a drinking game..

do a shot every time a trade is made, shotgun a beer when the Jets boo their 1st pick..

didn't know you were going to be all serious about what channel to watch the draft on.... :P ..

How about a drinking game where you drink every time they talk about a player even after a different one has been picked?

Oh wait, I don't want anyone to die of alcohol poisoning.

Audible. Wife knows how much I love draft, so she will probably do everything with the kid and leave me alone for the night. This isn't an event that you have to watch at a bar. It's fun to keep it low key or with a few buddies hanging out.

Bars are fun for about the 1st half of the 1st round, but you miss out on the analysis.

How about drink whenever Chucky says he loves a guy.

ESPN allows free online streaming to many customers who pay for cable, depending on the cable company. All you need is friend with cable.

+1

Never going back. What a waste of money.
I would like to join you guys, but I just can't do it. I don't want to have to search the interwebs for grainy feeds that may or may not give me computer the hiv when I desire to watch sports (NFL and UFC mainly). So the cord continues to suck blood from me each month, for now at least.

Yeah, as much as I would love to cut the cord (and I do love my Roku, my Netflix and the ever-expanding streaming opportunities online), there is still just too much I cannot reliably access without cable/satellite tv. I am hopeful that will change in the not-so-distant future, however.

That said, for those without the NFL Network, I would think there are numerous opportunities to follow the draft, but the best of those should be Footballguys' own Sigmund Bloom and Matt Waldman on Audible.

A few small tricks could really improve the audible live YouTube stream. Get some better lighting andyour wife's to do your makeup for the camera.
