It's that time of year!

Feel free to post your own questions, and I hope the guys in the know will answer here. I'll give my input, but as you'll see, I have my own issues, so if I can't figure out mine, do you want me helping with yours? ;)

Tony Hargrove vs. SF - I like his big play potential

Mike Rucker vs. New Orleans - was a stud before

John Hall vs. GB - a usual start, but Green Bay doesn't let Favre get hit much

LB: (pick 1 to go with Ray Lewis, Marlon Greenwood and Dan Morgan)

Monty Biesel vs. Oakland - is he starting?

Dirt Davis vs. Green Bay - fair potential

S: (pick 2, or 3 if all 3 are better options than the LBs)

Tony Parrish vs. St. Louis - should be on the field a lot

Brian Dawkins vs. Atlanta - Vick doesn't throw a lot, but Dawkins can get an INT or stop the run

Rodney Harrison vs. Oakland - softball pick, he's in.

TIA

I would start all three DBs instead of Beisel/Davis. The main hesitation is at DL between Rucker and Hall. I think in week #1 we have to make safer picks so my personal choice is Hall. I think Rucker will be better in 2005 but I would want to see a game or two before starting him over Hall. The Packers O-Line will not be as good in 2005, while the Saints O-Line is improved.

Thanks. I just saw the FBG cheatsheet for the week, and if it holds true, I'm in much better shape than I thought. :D Hargrove and Hall are ranked #3 and #12. Dawkins is a bit low, while Beisel is higher than I thought.

I think the week #1 projections need some tweaking. Hall has more projected tackles than Hargrove (makes sense). But I don't think Hargrove has an expected number of sacks 1.0 above Hall. See my thread about decimal projections. Just using integers skews the numbers. At DB, I dare anybody with R Harrison and guys like Thomas Davis (rookie), Mike Brown (off major injury), or M Boulware (2nd year) to bench Harrison for one of these three guys. I personally have Boulware and Harrison and will not start Boulware until he shows he can beat Harrison consistently. Brown and Davis are even riskier than Boulware.

There are several other places where I think projections are questionable, but again that's one man's opinion so I don't expect this to match my opinion! :)

Rucker & HargroveParrish, Dawkins & Harrison.

As an after the fact - Harrison did poorly last night and Beisel did ok. It goes to show that on any given day even the best players can stumble and others can shine a little bit. Just my .0125 cents
