So i have crazy depth at my skill positions.

10 team PPR league.

Have a choice of either starting Isaiah Crowell or Demariyus Thomas as my flex.

Crowell should get 12-15 touches, its a new QB, lots of check downs possible. My worry is that Cleveland is out of the game so early they just start chucking it down field.

Demariyus isn't 100% healthy, really sub par QB, and playing a top 3 NFL defense.

Thank god these are just my flex options I'd hate to have these be my RB1/WR1s.

Anyways guys, who should I start and whats your thinking?

I disagree with both premises. I think Cleveland absolutely keeps up with Pittsburgh. Not saying they'll win, but I think think they'll keep it close enough so that Crowell could see 20 touches.

I would never call the Chargers a top-3 NFL defense, maybe top-10, but Thomas is the type of WR they have problems with(bigger WRs)

All that said, I think Crowell is the call. I actually think he's a borderline top-10 RB this week. 85-1 seems reasonable.

I have to agree with travdogg. San Diego, while better than past years, is not a top 3 Defense. If this weren't a PPR league, the choice would be obvious, but I think I'm going to go Thomas. I can see a stat line that looks something like 8-60-1 TD.
Now realize, I'm a huge ND fan and I love Kizer and I hope he shines. He's going to be given every opportunity to do just that Week 1 as Pitt will stack 9 in the box and make Kizer beat them through the air. The check downs will likely go to Duke Johnson and not Crowell.
