not for nuthin' - dunno why this popped up on my youtubes (i do watch a lot of standup clips), but this radio segment by the late, great Patrice O'Neal is the nuts. had me looking for the Patrice O'Neal's Guide to White People that he worked on just before he died. anybody seen the pilot he did for Comedy Central or know where i can get at it? makes the loss of him reverberate all tthe more......brilliant.

Heh. Every so often, wikkid would start a thread that nobody grokked or paid attention to, and I'd watch the link he posted and read his comment to see if it made any sense because he almost always did that for me and my flights of stream-of-consciousness fancy. I figured I ought to at least check it out. I sort of owed it to him, after all, and usually there was something going on under the surface with what he posted.

And that made me just sort of sad right now.

Oh. I’m on mobile right now, where you can see the author but can’t see who was the last post in the thread. Seeing there were only a couple of replies, and not being familiar with the meaning of the title, my heart jumped.

For a second, I thought he was here to tell us it had all been a joke. This despite having been in frequent contact with his sister. Despite having had confirmation of his death from VT authority. Despite having in hand his memorial card. For a few seconds I was relieved it had all been a joke by him.

But FFS it wasn’t. Now I’m crying again.

Yeah. I enjoyed finding the clip he posted and ended up watching a few Patrice O'Neal clips last night.
