We cant let them change America (1 Viewer)

Its been ok the way it is, they cant be allowed to change us.  Men are men, women are women, English is our language and Christanity is our religion.  We can let them in but they better conform.  As Steve King said in 2007 "Wilders understands that culture and demographics are our destiny, We can’t restore our civilization with somebody else’s babies.”

“This ‘old white people’ business does get a little tired, Charlie. I’d ask you to go back through history and figure out,” King said, “where are these contributions that have been made by these other categories of people that you’re talking about, where did any other subgroup of people contribute more to civilization?”

“Than white people?” Hayes responded in astonishment.

“Than, than Western civilization itself,” King replied. “It’s rooted in Western Europe, Eastern Europe and the United States of America and every place where the footprint of Christianity settled the world. That’s all of Western civilization."

America is the Great Melting Pot but the stew is white bean and chicken only, no added spice or flavor allowed.

I agree.  Much of Trump's support is because of blatant racism and xenophobia.
yes, and I've been doing my utmost to deny this being the case but it's just to blatant to ignore or sweep away with euphemistic apologetics.  Now what do I do about this, do I argue with sonn to be erstwhile friends, keep still and quiet and just ignore, try to persuade, shrug my shoulders and just keep moving ahead?  Rhetorical only, just doing some figuring out loud.

Say you're at a football game.  I don't know what your team is, so I'll go with mine:  at a Saints game.  A rivalry game against the hated Falcons.

You're there with a buddy, watching Saints/Falcons, in Saints jerseys, and on an obvious but uncalled off-sides on the first drive of the game, Beasley gets an extra step, barrels into Brees, the ball pops out and Beasley picks it up and runs it in for the score.  XP is good, and it's now 0-7.  Your buddy tears off his jersey to reveal a Vic Beasley, Jr. jersey and starts screaming "Go Falcons!"

You ask him what the hell he's doing and he says he just agrees with everything the Falcons stand for, can't believe you're really a Saints fan and don't just wear the gear in public in Louisiana so people will leave you alone, and he's enjoying watching the Saints get their ###es handed to them.

You might argue with him for a bit.  But once Drew gets the ball back, drives down and gets a field goal (2018 elections) and they go on to win the game running away (2020 elections and/or results of Mueller report) what are you going to do?

And that's just a game.  This is real life and not a kids' game played by adults.

It's not racist if he says "western civilization", right?

Pointing the racism finger at the GOP is a touchy subject because most on that side are more focused on preserving a way of life than overt racism.  "We" have black "friends" - have never had "Them" to dinner, but "We" say hi in the office and joke around.  "We" smile at Mexican babies in the checkout line.  "We" waive to the Honduran/Haitian/Costa Rican/Peruvian guy who picks up plastic water bottles in the park after "Our" kid's soccer games. How can "We" be accused of being racists when "We" tip "Them" $2 at the car wash?

So "We" aren't racist, but "We" must protect ourselves from "Them" (gun debate).  "We" must keep "Them" out (immigration/wall). "We" must disenfranchise and isolate "Them" (voter suppression and gerrymandering).  "We" must militarize our police to be on the lookout for "Them" and respond violently to any threat posed by "Them" (law and order - BLM response). "We" must stack Courts with "Our" own so the law is always on "Our" side.

It's not racism - It's just protecting "Our" way of life.  Big difference there.

which shows you really know nothing about it

I voted Trump because I'm conservative and I saw Hillary as anti-gun, pro-abortion, pro-big Govt, the Democratic movement towards socialism I despise, I don't want more taxes and more intrusion. I want border security, I want something done about the 15 million illegals or more living in the USA. There are many other reasons.

People's skin color or choice of religion never entered my mind and it didn't for 63 million Trump voters either.

racism, hatred, intolerance, unacceptance, vulgarity, threats, etc .... that's all Democrats have been for 2 years without a doubt

I disagree with dutch

Men are men, women are women, English is our language and Christanity is our religion.  We can let them in but they better conform.
biologically men are men and women are women, English is the #1 language spoken and makes things a lot easier if everyone spoke it. I went to Venezuela and lived in Caracas and i didn't expect them to conform to my language. Religious freedom is ingrained in out Constitution. There is conformation when you become a citizen of another country to adapting and blending in to being a citizen of that country. Again, if I moved to another country I'd not expect them to change their ways to how I'm used to doing things ..... I have to adjust to them, its their country I'm immigrating to right?

I will about the muslim religion I dislike how they treat women, gays, blacks, other religions etc. Its a very intolerant religion overall but there are new waves of Islam that isn't what the traditional is. Baffles me anyone in the USA would support traditional Islam but its a free nation, worship however you like

Yuuup.

I don't think anyone disagrees that the general response of many people who voted for the President, when confronted, is "how dare you call me a racist?"
From the AOC thread, and this echoes my pov.

I'm not even gonna bother with the rest of the nonsense in your post, but this is demonstrably false. You have absolutely no idea what entered the mind of any Trump voter but yourself.  All we can say about them is that they didn't consider Trump's own well-documented bigotry and misogyny to be disqualifying.

You could have had all those agendas without Trump's racist triggering crap. He either does it intentionally or he is one.

He has shown us this many times, did it during the primaries.

So you believe that you know why all 63 million other people voted for Trump?

You voted for an absolutely unqualified scumbag of a man because of your warped, preconceived notions about Democrats.

Just as an aside, at least one KKK publication endorsed him.  I promise that race was on their minds when many of them voted.

Or, put another way, we know there are at least a FEW racist people in the US of A.

Who do you think they supported in 2016?  And why?

Re the bolded:  this is where you always go off the rails SC.  You seriously just stated that you know the minds and motivation of 63 million people.  Unbelievable.

I'd respect the racists/whateverists if they just said "yeah I'm racist, so what?" in my experience on this message board, only 1 person said that. A few of my family members said it, but in my experience it's pretty rare.

This thread is the same mentality that got Trump elected.  Only difference is the actual word "deplorable" isnt being used so far.

By all means, rile up your opposition by labeling them all racists, misogynists, whatever.  See how history repeats itself in 2020.

This post is the same mentality that got Pelosi back in charge of the House.  Only difference is the actual phrase "MAGA" isn't being used so far.

By all means, rile up your opposition by labeling them all arrogant, elitist, un-American, whatever.  See how history repeats itself in 2020.

I'm not the one making threads based on sweeping generalizations.

Tell that to my Trump loving friend who voiced the very topic title in those exact words and who expressed anger and concern that "our" way of life is changing for the worse and it needs to stop therefore-The Wall!!

Anecdotal yes, but when Im around her family and friends the thought is pervasive.  And apparently Barack Obama is anti-American and a criminal to boot.

Oh well in that case! By all means, make sweeping generalizations on 63M people because your friend is an #######!

I'm not the one making threads based on sweeping generalizations.
Neither is anyone else here. The OP is mostly a transcript from a Steve King TV appearance, lifted verbatim.

Here's the thing, though: we're tired of this stupid "we elected Trump because you called us racist" line. You and people like you- including anyone who gets offended at people pointing out that Trump is in fact a bigot and a misogynist- are gonna vote for Trump no matter what we do. We could give every one of you an itemized apology for every perceived slight you've ever fielded individually or collectively and blanket your path to the polls with rose petals and you'd vote for him anyway.

So please knock it off with the "this is how you got Trump" nonsense. You don't have any special insight. Your silly "people called us names" theory about how he won the general election with a -2.7 million margin in the popular vote doesn't explain how he won the GOP primary in a rout. Nobody's gonna stop pointing out that he's a racist and a misogynist and that his supporters are OK with that just because his supporters threaten to do something we all know they're gonna do anyway.

If it's not racism that drives all of these political strategies designed to promote and protect our western civilized way of life at the expense of people of color, then what is it?

You could have had all those agendas without Trump's racist triggering crap. He either does it intentionally or he is one.

I voted Ben Carson in the primary but Trump was the nominee and I sure wasn't going to vote Hillary

then how can everyone here speak for them ?
They're not.

The only one here who has claimed to have particular insight into all 63 million people that doesn't automatically follow from the one thing we know about all of them (they voted for Trump, so they didn't consider Trump's various negative traits to be disqualifying) is you.

"Hey...all those costal elitist snobs keep calling us sexist and racist and deplorable and dumb.  I'll show them by voting for a sexist, racist, deplorable POS who has no business holding any elected office!"

what did you think Henry Ford was saying ?

Anecdotal yes, but when Im around her family and friends the thought is pervasive.  And apparently Barack Obama is anti-American and a criminal to boot.
The President, the guy Republicans lined up behind, spent 8 years telling anyone he could withva camera that Obama wasn’t born here and something wasn’t right about him.

Gee, why is that?

Oh well in that case! By all means, make sweeping generalizations on 63M people because your friend is an #######!
I'm curious what the percentage of that number actually do think like what the OP stated.  Based on my own experience it's pretty high.  What do you think?

what did you think Henry Ford was saying ?
Which post?

Also don't change the subject.  Do you really think that "people's skin color or choice of religion" never entered "the minds of "63 million Trump voters," as you claimed?  Not even like 1% of them? 0.1%?

Yes, we would have voted for Trump regardless, but the "deplorable" rhetoric ended up getting a bunch of other Republicans off their asses and into the voting booth when they may not normally have bothered..

The deplorable comment appears to be dead in correct about the people she referred to.

In addition Trump has said many things worse than that comment.
