That's kind of why I posed the question. All the swim trunks that I've worn before have had the mesh liner. Yesterday, my wife bought a pair of boardshorts for me, and there was no liner. So, I'm curious if I go commando or wear some sort of underwear.

I'm doing the same from now on. Last week I was in the pool with my wife and we were fooling around a bit, which caused my bathing suit to get pretty tight. About an hour later I went to take a leak and the ####### liner scratched the hell out of the tip and it hurt like hell for the next 3 days. Wasn't the first time I chubbed up when wearing a bathing suit so I'm not sure why it happened, but it won't happen again.
