weather in Tampa today (1 Viewer)

I'm more interested in the effects on Moore. Only took 4 straight 20+ games in a row to convince me to start him, and now I'm looking at another reason to bench him. Ugh.

I live in the area and right now the wind is the biggest issue. It is blowing pretty hard (25 mph+).

Should definitely impact kickers and Bree's long pass.

I don't think this impacts Brees short to midrange passes, but def takes the threat of the long ball away which gives Tampa's already strong pass def a chance to sit on the mid routes... I hate this-- riding Brees all year and in a must win week for me- the weather may be what does me in...

should I sit Bryant and pick up a kicker off waivers for the week ?
I just dumped Bryant for Robbie Gould who's kicking in a dome :-)I don't see how you can justify kicking a FG any longer than 30 yds in a 25+ MPH wind. I'll take a kicked from a mediocre offense that may settle for FGs in a low scoring dome game.I guess it depends what kickers are on the wire in your league!I also benched Garcia for Garrard. Hopefully his back doesn't flare up before tomorrow night :-)

Pretty blustery just south of Tampa right now. Fun day for kickers. With the wind being so blustery, I am sure Gruden changed his gameplan to mostly passing like he did against the Giants.

Thinking of benching Brees for ..................................Bulger.

Am i totally crazy , its not a must win i have a two game lead in first place with two games to go , facing the second place team this week .

I just got Gould as well-

Going with Dan Carpenter over Matt Bryant this week. St. Louis gives a ton of points to kickers, and the game is in a dome.

Is anyone actually contemplating benching Brees?
I'm not. Then again, I'm not carrying another QB at this point, so picking up Joe Flacco off the WW isn't exactly an enticing alternative. Here's to DBs slipping in coverage

picked up kaeding (west coast, @ home) and dropped bryant. passed on feely due to the ??? at kicker for NYJ

Thoughts on the Tampa passing game?? Should we be bumping down Garcia and Antonio Bryant as well??
i think you have to downgrade them slightly but they had to be highly ranked anyway given the matchup, plus the last 3 QB performances against the Saints:A. Rodgers 23/41 248 2 3T. Thigpen 19/38 235 2 1 M. Ryan 16/23 248 2 0 expect 30 attempts minimum from garcia today, 250, and a couple TD's. i'm rolling with him over Rodgers v. tough CAR passing D, FWIW.

Dont know wether to start Brees today now. Have Edwards, but hes streaky. Need this win, any homers know how windy it really is in TB. I live 45 min. south of Buffalo and weather isn't a factor here, for once.

Windy conditions take away the deep ball and affect the kicking game.

West Coast Offense QBs normally do fine as they're hitting 10-yd ins and slants. Add in RB catches and they're fine.

The deep balls will be a problem, but Brees will still work Colston, Bush and Moore. Henderson is a major downgrade.

I would avoid the kickers.

My

I'm rolling with Brees and Garcia in several spots.

I'm in the area, and it's definitely blustery. Also will be interesting to see what impact the rain will have, and the timing (this is the same system that crossed Tallahassee for yesterday's FSU-Florida game - those conditions were nasty). I've got a bye locked up, but I may switch from Colston to Bradley, just for kicks.

K Bryant out for me, just snagged Carpenter off the WW as a replacement.

Carpenter was the highest rated kicker (per Herman's weekly K report) available in my league .

Didn't FSU kick a bunch of field goals yesterday? I'm guessing this isn't as big a worry for the kickers as we're making it out to be.

A Bryant out and K Walter in for me.

I sat Rackers Thursday for M Bryant today so I will have to live with that.

Now

A line of showers...moving northeast at 15 mph...will affect much of Sarasota...Manatee..central and eastern Hillsborough counties during the next hour. Shower activity is also developing over much of Polk County. Heaviest showers are now affecting Palmetto...Bradenton... Ruskin...Sun City Center and Bloomingdale. A frontal boundary over the nearshore northern and central waters will move inland and move across west central Florida...bringing periods of heavy rain over much of the area through the rest of the day and into the evening hours. When driving through heavy rain...slow down. Always leave a safe distance between you and other vehicles. When using wipers...turn on headlights. Avoid driving through puddles that could hide Potholes or cause hydroplaning.

I'm on the gulf coast (25 miles from RayJay) and the storm line just arrived ...... it will be in Tampa in about an hour .... the big wind comes right behind it ....

(no tornadoes please)

Reluctantly benching Bryant for Nedney. But at least my opponent has Brees & Shockey. The weather can't help them.

I'm due west of Tampa, north of Clearwater, and the rain has started. Should get sloppy today.
