Week 01 2022 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

.5PPR, need some help at Flex (pick 1)

Godwin @ DAL (SNF game)
Dobbins @ NYJ (early game)
K. Hunt @ CAR (early game)
A. Cooper @ CAR (early game)
R. Woods v. NYG (afternoon game)
Pickens @ CIN (early game)

If I had even a little more clarity on Godwin, he’d be the easy choice… but it sounds like he’ll be a true gametime decision

Thanks in advance for any/ all help & advice.
I would take someone who is healthy so scratch Dobbins and a lesser extent I might leave Godwin alone 1st game back from injury that ended his season last year. He spoke of taking it easy and being ready the 2nd half of the season. 🤷‍♂️

-Cooper has no QB but he's healthy. Hunt? What is his role with no QB and a lead RB that needs the ball.
-Bob Woods coming off an injury and the passing game in Tennessee is questionable
-Pickens, rookie WR, shot in the dark 1st game out with Trubisky.
they're going to roll Trubisky out to the right. a LOT . Why? because he can't read defenses. Pickens plays on the right side. I think the rookie goes off in this game

4 pts per passing TD.

And I'm a serious underdog so looking for upside.

* T. Lance @CHI -- Weather looks a bit frightful and Kittle trending out. Finding it hard to see this as a ceiling game that's for sure.

or

* D. Carr @LAC -- O/U points to a shootout. LV and Carr with shiny new weapon in D. Adams. That said, in two games last year against LAC, Carr was mediocre. He also didn't have D. Adams and a healthy Waller.

Lance is universally ranked higher by most experts on various sites (including Bloom).
Which?

Thanks

Carr. Easy call with CHI weather & LAC missing J.C. Jackson in the secondary.

Pick Three:
Chase Edmonds vs NEP
Travis Eitenne vs WAS
Brandon Aiyuk vs CHI
DJ Moore vs CLE
Rashod Bateman vs NYJ

I'm thinking Moore & Eitenne but do I go Edmonds or Bateman?
Apologies; answers will be shorter on Sunday.

I think Etienne & Moore seem like the best options. Both should see some volume and have solid matchups

Just saw a weather alert for Chicago indicating 20mph winds on top of rain. That's enough for me to discount Aiyuk.

I have been leaning Edmunds all week. I think he will be some combo of Elijah Mitchell & Ekeler in how Miami uses him.

I understand Bateman but I think there is a real chance that he gets 8 targets but finishes with a 6-45-0 statline.

Etienne, Moore

Edmunds>Bateman>Aiyuk

Need 2 RB's from this group. Full PPR.

Nick Chubb at Panthers
AJ Dillon at Vikings
Chase Edmonds home vs Patriots
Tony Pollard home vs Buccaneers
Rhamondre Stevenson at Dolphins

BTW, thanks for doing this again this year - appreciated your insights last season!
It's week one you drafted them probably in the order you listed. Start them in that order.

Chubb>Dillon>>the rest

I need a flex and my options are:
Amon Ra St Brown v Phili
Hunter Renvrow @ Chargers
Elijah Mitchell @ Chicago
Nyheim Hines @ Houston
Shocked that ARSB and Renfrow aren't already in the starting lineup in a PPR. The top three (Mitchell included) should all be started in a PPR in most cases. You must have an embarrassment of riches. Good on you.
I hate my team.

But I always hate my team.
I should report you for being a hater.
Great, now I hate myself too.

Ok, I’ve got one:

PPR flex;
Breece Hall who might be the Jets RB2, or Brandon Aiyuk in the rain at Chicago?

Doesn't really seem like a dilemma. My personal mantra is to not worry about weather unless the wind is above 17 mph. 60% chance of rain and 12 mph shouldn't be too much cause for concern.

You can start worrying now @Hot Sauce Guy

The forecast for the next 49ers @ Bears game has deteriorated, now with rain and 20mph winds. This game is now flagged as an "Extreme" with credible weather-impact risk on player production.

Great - I have Lance going in SF, too. :wall:
I'm fine with Lance in bad weather. His upside is based on mobility. You wouldn't bench Lamar or Hurts in this situation.

Flex Options...PPR

WR-Elijah Moore
WR-Christian Kirk...leaning this way

RB-Chase Edmonds...I'm going to enjoy watching him play today either way, feels like his role is still undefined until we see the play calling. Mostert will factor in.

How we feeling Sunday Morning about this?

Thanks to anyone that wants to chime in.

Given the weather....1/2 pprem

Deebo
Pierce
E. Moore
or Toney
It's difficult to bench Deebo. I have told the last several posters that in week one you should start players in the order you drafted them (or the order they would have been drafted in this year).

HOWEVER I have been very down on Deebo all offseason. Excellent player but last year was very fluky.

I might try to talk you into Moore (not Toney or Pierce) but I feel like I would flip/flop that decision 100 times between now and kickoff and end up rolling Deebo.

Trust your gut between those two, mine kinda, sorta, maybe says Moore

Deebo
Pierce
E. Moore

Pick 1 of those?

Deebo all day.

I don't care how bad the weather is, mans still gonna be capable of catching a screen or running a sweep.
It's the weather + Lance that worries me. He might take a screen pass to the house but I can also see 2 catches for 10 yards

I am leaning Deebo but Pierce really intrigues me...
You mean Alec Pierce in Indy, not Damon Pierce in Houston, right?

Jets OL just took another hit.

I’ve got Aiyuk in over Hall. I can’t start Hall until I’ve seen how they use him.

Wind & rain be damns. Aiyuk is my ride or die today.
Please provide details. Do you mean Duane Brown to IR?
Brown to IR this morning. It’s a blow to the OL. If you knew the details why are you asking me for the details?
Because I knew about Duane Brown, that news hit yesterday, I thought there may have been new info this AM that I had missed.

When offering advice, which I approach with solemn veneration, it helps to have all the information available. I don't always have time to do all the research on all of these.

Hunt and it's not really close for me. When he plays with Chubb he still produces at near RB1 levels. Dobbins is out, Godwin is expected to play, don't care about either Hunt is the better play.

Hunt>>>The rest

Per rotoworld Godwin is going to play. They just broke the news like 15 mins ago.

Thanks for sharing! Even on limited snaps, I think I gotta play him over the others…right?
Not IMO

WIth Flacco in, do I switch out Pollard for E. Moore? as flex--- Standard scoring -- R. Stevenson also a consideration--
This is close, no PPR makes it more interesting. It's close and you should definitely go with your gut.

I would probably be starting Pollard even with Zach Wilson playing. I don't think Flacco is a big drop off, if he's a drop off at all.

Pollard

Is Julio still in play with Godwin probable? It's either him or Woods for my last spot.
It's hard to roll Julio out but it's not exactly like Woods is in a great situation to put up big numbers.

If it's PPR I roll with Woods, in standard it's a lot closer. Julio is a huge target and Brady has been known to try and get his guys stats.s

I’m already in a spot at RB…appreciate the help!

Dobbins (if he plays), drake, gainwell, or mckissic in a ppr?
Just saw Dobbins is out. The others are all dart throws but I sort of lean towards Gainwell then McKissic

Flip a coin though between those two.

I would probably go Edmunds but I understand your position (although it's not like we know much about how Kirk is going to be used either).

No problem with Kirk>Edmunds if that's how you feel.

Earlier this week I said Lance>Carr because that's how you drafted them. With the weather in Chicago potentially bad, although they may miss the bad stuff, I am a little less high on Lance.

I still think you have to go with your #1 drafted guy in week one.

.5 ppr
D Montgomery vs SF
M Sanders @ Det

K Lockett vs Den
Z Ertz vs KC
I think Ertz is out.

This is a tough call for me. I think Montgomery is going to be a big piece of the Chicago offense, but that looks like a bad offense against a good defense. I don't know what Sanders role is going to be though, but I do like him as a runner.

Montgomery>Sanders but go with your gut.

Need to start 2 of the following 4.

WR Michael Thomas (Q) at ATL
WR Amari Cooper at CAR
WR Marvin Jones at WAS
RB Rhamondre Stevenson at MIA

RB Raheem Mostert vs NEP is an option too.

Edit: Have Thomas and Cooper in lineup presently and thinking of swapping out both for Jones and Stevenson.

Also going to be rolling with Mitchell in my RB2 slot Week 1, as long as he is cleared to Start, should feast up in Chicago and help the Niners close out the game whenever they open up a 10 point lead in the 2nd half.

PPR-Start 2RB-3WR-TE-Flex...
Flex Options
WR-Christian Kirk...has a pretty good match up on the road in Washington. Will be a little worried if JAX comes out flat Week 1.
WR-Elijah Moore...would like to observe Week 1 and make sure he is targeted like we think he should be in 2022. Also might be dealing with Flacco for a couple weeks which might hamper his development.
RB-Chase Edmonds...I believe Miami is going to win and shouldn't need a last second drive to pull it out. I see a lot of opportunity here for Chase to do well. He does have Mostert around but I don't want Chase taking king's share of the snaps by himself, need him to last throughout the season. 14-15 touches with some of those touches via receptions is more than enough for him to cash in.

I feel like Kirk is the no brainer for the 1st Week but I am wanting to see how a couple others perform and hopefully give me a few options most weeks to choose from.

And Kirk is my WR4, pretty stacked on the WR1-2-3 slots
I like Elijah Moore more than Kirk. Think Moore will assert himself as legit stud WR. Also think Marvin Jones might be a more attractive target than Kirk in JAX.

So easy to be wrong about all this in week 1.
