Week 04 2023 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

2 questions .5 ppr

qb
J Love v Det
Fields v Den

flex
J Ford v Bal
C Watson v Det

Questions I’m asking myself. .. do you trust Watson enough to play over Ford? Do you stack Love Watson?

Need 2 for PPR:

D Smith vs Washington
Atwell at Indy
C Watson vs Detroit
Addison at Carolina

If I follow the rankings it's Smith & Atwell but Watson is an outlier having not played this season.

1-2, not getting the right mix in. PPR, have to start 3 WR's, 2RB's and 2 FLEX:

Locked in (bold) RB's:
Bijan
Swift

Kamara
Javonte

Locked in (bold) WR's (if healthy):
Waddle
Puka
Aiyuk

Godwin
Nico
Addison
Flowers (note I have Lamar and Andrews)

So Flex right now I'm leaning in order - Kamara (N.O leading rusher is the TE with 90yrds, has to end) > Javonte (da Bears) > Godwin (needs a TD to work, but dang its Godwin) > Addison (keeps getting more routes) > Nico (upside + Pitt cant stop WR) > Flowers (I don't like the match-up with Clev)

Anyone in the WR Locked that shouldn't be, and/or who's your fav line-up.....my opponent has CJ Stroud looking to be the starter too....Nico bump?

Thanks
Honestly, I've been looking at this for awhile and I keep coming back to Javonte & Kamara. I don't like the TB matchup for Kamara but he should be a volume play at the very least.

I like your other options, and at least one of them will outperform one of your starters (I don't start anyone based on who my opponent is starting) but the guys your choosing seem like the right calls to me.

Who To Drop question. 12 team PPR.

Need to grab a kicker. One of these has to go:

* T. Spears - May have stand alone value soon. Who knows...if TN starts tanking maybe he takes on larger role. Henry injury lotto ticket.
* K. Herbert - Loathe to drop him, but could be in denial that it's going to turn around.
* R. Rice - Possible he emerges as the #2 option behind Kelce?
* E. Moore - He's getting as many targets as A. Cooper, but for not many yards.
* R. Doubs - Has been a TD machine but with Watson and A. Jones back maybe volume and TDs go poof.

I could play it cute also. Wait until Sunday Night (with Rice) and see if I'm blowing out/getting blown out. Gano (monday), Meyers (monday), and Zeurlien (Sunday night) all available.

Who?

THanks
It's fine to wait until Sunday night if your waivers allow it. Personally I'm dropping Rice. Abandon ship on all KC WRs. Their nickname should be Whack-a-Mole (or Chasing Points).

Walk away from that mess and feel better IMO.

Full PPR with a 1.5 for TE. Have to start one of the following:

Musgrave(Detroit)
Nico(Steelers)
Rachaad(Saints)

I’m kind of leaning Musgrave because Detroit is so bad Vs Te’s
I could see Musgrave because he seems pretty good. And you give a TE premium. The issue I have is if Watson & Jones are back that means a lot more questions around how the ball gets distributed.

Latest update I see is they are both expected to play. Although maybe on a snap count.

The Steelers have not been that great on defense yet. They miss Heyward a lot. Nico looks to have a pretty safe target floor too. I worry the Steelers pass rush will be able to disrupt the poor Texans o-line but they disrupted the Raiders o-line and Davante & Jakobi still had good games.

White is a fine option as he is getting 80% of the RB snaps but he has a tough matchup and he has been remarkably inefficient with the ball.

Nothing wrong with rolling Musgrave. Do it of your gut is telling you to (being right about these calls is part of the fun of fantasy) but me
Nico>Musgrave>White

Need a flex while waiting for Watson to get all the way up to a full workload.

1ppr, 6/td

Zay Flowers (@ CLE)
-or-
George Pickens (@ HOU)
Because it's PPR I like Flowers here. Pickens still seems more big play dependent, even with some increased volume. Flowers seems legit uncoverable is short spaces. He might not rack up a lot of yards but he seems like a target sponge.

Flowers>Pickens

Shamrock - Flowers

Thursday night decisions sanity checks please:

4/passing TD, Goff over Burrow @ Ten (or R Wilson @ Chi, but would need to make nasty cut decision)?

6/passing TD, Love over Watson vs Bal or RIchardson vs LAR?

PPR if active, have multiple Aaron Jones decisions, so will just ask if you would start any of these ahead of him if he is active:
Henry v Cin
Sanders v Min
Pacheco @ NYJ
Brian Robinson @ Phi
Pierce v Pit
This is three questions?

1) If the cut decision around Wilson is that bad then I have no problem going with Goff but the Titans weakness on defense is in the passing game and Burrow came out of Monday night without a setback. Are you sure you don't want to be a week early rather than a week late on Burrow returning to form?

Burrow>Goff

2) Love, Watson, Richardson?
There are only a small handful of QBs I'm starting over a healthy Richardson ATM. Love & Watson are not among them.

Richardson is still a huge risk for both injury and having a dud game but his ability to put points on the board is crazy IMO.

If you are looking for more stability then I like Love. He has been crazy efficient, has two of his guys back and the Lions are not scaring anyone in defense. He has good upside and a safe floor.

Watson is fine too I just like the other guys more this week.

Richardson>Love>Watson

3) Probably not. Jones is just really good and a huge piece in that offense.

2 questions .5 ppr

qb
J Love v Det
Fields v Den

flex
J Ford v Bal
C Watson v Det

Questions I’m asking myself. .. do you trust Watson enough to play over Ford? Do you stack Love Watson?
Love>>>Fields

I get the why on Fields but he's just been too bad, this is just as likely (if not moreso) a get well game for Denver's defense and Love has been too good.

Ford>Watson

Too much risk of a snap count, reaggravation and/or being a decoy to trust Watson in his first game.

Ford may not be exciting but he is the lead back on a team built to run

Can only start one (half PPR): DJ Moore, Kirk, Flowers or J Myers
Hi @zoobird I appreciate your posting here but if you want engagement for your questions please include matchups. This thread takes aot of my time, please don't make that more difficult...even a little. TIA🙏

What I see is four similar options.

I rule out DJ because the Bears are terrible. Yes, the Broncos are too but if I had to bet which team comes out with more anger & pride this week I'm going with Denver. Fields has simply been too bad to trust and you have other food options.

Meyers is seeing very good volume and has a great matchup against one of the worst pass defenses of the season so far.

Jacksonville looks off and if their receivers group plays out the way it did last year I expect to see the #1 target rotating weekly between 3-4 guys. It should be Ridley then Kirk but Engram will have games too. The good news is Zay Jones was DNP yesterday.

I like Flowers a lot but he has a tough road matchup and he still hasn't demonstrated being more than a short area target sponge. Haven't seen him get much intermediate or deep work or show the elusiveness after the catch to break off something long.

To me it comes down to Kirk & Jakobi and it's a real coin toss but Atlanta has been very scrappy this year and seems to turn games ugly so

Jakobi>Kirk

ETA: @zoobird
just read that Garoppolo is still uncertain to play. If he's out then
Kirk is your clear option IMO

K.Williams
C.Olave
B.Aiyuk
N.Collins
T.Dell
J.Meyers

Thank you
Come on @LionOfGosforth no matchup info? First thought was "who is K.Williams?". Please fix if you want more of a response.

But immediately, to me I don't see how you can bench Olave & Aiyuk. Feels like overthinking...unless K.Williams is code for Tyreek Hill

So sorry!! I always include matchup info, was doing a few things at once and had a brain fart. Sorry!

Definitely not Watson. Possible snap count, possibility of reaggravation, possibility of being a decoy etc.

I like Addison for talent and the opportunity may be creeping up, good matchup too.

Atwell has quietly been getting very consistent WR1 target share. In a PPR he has a lot of appeal. It's a decent enough matchup too and the Rams running game is bad (sorry Kyren owners he's not very good).

I don't bench DeVonta...yet. That offense is too good and you want a piece of it. Hurts does seem off in his passing but DeVonta has still been pretty good and has so much upside. I get it and can see it but I'm not benching him yet. Nothing wrong if you decide to though, both Addison & Atwell are solid options this week.

DeVonta>Tutu>Addison

No worries. Wouldn't have made a difference for me in this case as I think your choices are obvious.

PSA:

So I'm on the road pretty much all day. I may not be able to get many more responses in, if any.

Good luck tonight everyone.

PPR league with bonus points for long TDs.

R. Doubs or J. Warren
Doubs. I like Warren and maybe this is finally his game but they haven't been good on offense. Even against weak defenses. Hasn't done enough to warrant the dart throw IMO.

Doubs role likely doesn't change with the return of Watson & Jones. He is still an option near the GL (even if Jones is the #1 as they get close to the GL). Reed is the guy I think loses opps to Watson.

Doubs>Warren

Thanks for the confirmation.
Not sure why Love isn’t (wait for it) getting any love. He’s quietly put up some solid fantasy points through 3 games.

.5PPR
A Jones V Det
M Brown @ SF
Collins v Pit
Warren @ HOU
Pierce V Pit

Allgeier vs Jax

Need to start 3 and one has to be a WR - leaning towards the bolded.

Looking to buy low on a couple of RBs that are a bit down in the dumps -- J. Jacobs and R. Stevenson. PPR league.

I'm dangling D. Pierce and R. Doubs. Hoping that Doubs TDs in the last few gams have caught their eye and they need WR help.

I'm guessing this seems "light."

Could also throw in Mostert, Z. Moss, or Kyren Williams instead of Pierce, but ideally I don't have to touch those, but maybe I will have the first / above offer declined.

Reasonable starting point to the conversation? Or start with one of Mostert/Moss/Kyren?

Thanks

Here's two more:

FPC scoring:

Need TWO flexes:
B.Aiyuk vs AZ
Z.Flowers @ Cleve
A.Thielen vs Minn
R.Shaheed vs TB
D.Goedert vs Wash

And need TWO flexes:

A.Kamara vs TB
A.Mattison @ Car
S.Moore @ NYJ
N.Collins vs Pitt

I like Jones over Warren. He's just so much better.

Jones>Warren

Could make an argument for Nico but Marquise is fine.

Aiyuk & Flowers IMO little question.

Kamara for sure.

Not Skyy

Tough call but because of matchup

I wouldn't accept that deal. I might roll the dice on Mostert. I don't believe Wilson changes anything.

Pierce is also probably a buy low target even so no one will be glamored by last weeks TD. He still had a bad game.

Bench 1. PPR.

Kirk vs Atlanta in London (ball control?

Kamara vs TB (touches?)

Swift vs Washington. (Receptions? GL? Gainwell?)

PPR League.

* D. Montgomery @GB - First he was out, then he was in and apparently ready to go. Hard to believe. Decent matchup. Haven't heard anything around a pitch count.

OR

* T. Dell vs PIT -- Been on fire. Clearly has Stroud's eye. TJ Watt could be a menace with that injured offensive line, but that didn't stop Jimmy G from ripping the steeler secondary last week with D. Adams and J. Meyers.

WHo?

Thanks

As always, love the thread!

6 point passing TD
Daniel Jones NYG home vs Seahawks (Monday)
Jordan Love GB home vs Lions (Thursday)

For Green Bay, OT David Bakhtiari and OG Elgton Jenkins are OUT, RB Aaron Jones Q, WR Christian Watson Q, OT Zach Tom Q

Whoever I don't start will be dropped for bench strength. If I cut Love he can't be picked up by anybody else, if I cut Jones he could be picked up but I'd consider that highly unlikely.

Upcoming schedule
Daniel Jones - @Miami, @Buffalo, Washington, NY Jets
Jordan Love - @Las Vegas, BYE, @Denver, Minnesota

SF Ppr not TE enhanced
Mims @ Chicago
Woods vs Pittsburg
Walker vs Seattle MNF

leaning Mims
If ekeler doesn’t play, do you start woods or Waller?

Also, if Carr plays do you start him vs Tampa over Dak vs the patriots or Watson vs Batmobile?

If you need the boom, bell. If you need a safe floor, Monty?

Full PPR w/ bonuses (milestone games, >40 plays)

need 2
  • Pacheco v @ NYJ
  • Hall @ v KCC
  • Warren @ HOU
  • Roschon v DEN
FYI - I’m a solid favorite no matter which ones I pick

Waller

Think it’s gonna be Winston but regardless I’d roll with Prescott & Watson

.5 PPR - Start 1RB, 1WR, 1TE and 3 Flex from those positions. I need (3) Flex players from the following:

Pierce vs Pit
J Cook vs Mia
Palmer vs LV
McLaurin @PHI
Breida vs SEA

Love

His accuracy hasn’t been great at time, but his ADoT is terrific. He’s already had 4 turnover worthy plays but he’s also 2nd in TD %. Very impressive coming back from down 17 to win last week. On pace to run for 425 yards which helps his floor. Much easier schedule though you’ll need to cover the Week 6 bye. It’s a small sample size but there’s a lot to like there.

He has better weapons than Daniel IMO. Tougher short term schedule. Currently QB22 v QB4, I don’t know if this is supposed to be a conundrum bc it seems a bit obvious to me.

For tonight:

Standard scoring w. full PPR:

Luke Musgrave (Det D seems to be week against TE) or Tayson Hill (can get pts in many ways)?

Thank You

PPR League.

I like Monty a lot this year, will be TD dependent but he’s a big part of what they want to do offensively.

That said, Tank is the truth. Go with the hot hand, the trend is your friend. Stroud is playing at a high level and Dell is his favorite weapon.

0.5 PPR league:
  • RB2: Rhamondre (@ DAL) or Montgomery (@ GB)?
  • TE: Laporta (@ GB) or Andrews (@ CLE)?
Leaning Montgomery and Laporta -- initially had concerns about starting both players from the same team but I do think both can produce in the Lions offense.

agreed

Zeke has better advanced stats than Stephenson (it's a small sample)
Monty is TD dependent but should have a good floor

normally I would lean Andrews but the Ravens offense was a bit dysfunctional v IND and obviously the Browns on the road is a much harder task
LaPorts has the trust of his QB and not much competition to remain the 2nd option for the Lions passing game

Burrow or Richardson?

Richardson is the expert consensus favorite (QB6 v QB10) and for once I agree - I think the Colts can beat the Rams

Burrow is going to be running a low ADoT offense until his calf is right again, can still be effective but it's a h.s. offense rn

Goff on TNF
Or
Lawrence in London on Sunday.

I'm leaning Goff at the moment.
any hesitancy with TNF games? does anyone have a spreadsheet or stats about scoring in these games? reason I ask, I have Love or Lawrence to use. I have never been a fan of tnf it always seems to be a (very) low scoring affair through the years..

0.5 PPR:

WR Doubs vs. Detroit or WR Reynolds vs. Green Bay?

I'm thinking people will vote Doubs quite easily but with Jones and Watson back, I'm wondering if I should be worried?
