Week 1 Injury Thread - 2009 (1 Viewer)

WR Anthony Gonzalez down and clutching knee.

Edited to add: couldn't put any weight on right knee walking off field. Garcon on to replace him with Collie as well.

Didn't see it but reported that he went down while running and no one touched him. Doesn't sound like a strain.

any updates on Anthony Gonzalez?
Yahoo says his return is questionable, but nothing specific about the injury.
Would be a huge loss to Indy if he is done for the season. Any chance they call up Marvin?
I think it'll be a much more manageable loss than many. Gonzalez has done nothing to warrant the confidence or ebullience fantasy owners put on him this season, and Collie and Garcon are both capable guys. I frankly don't think there's much (aside from the obvious experience) separating Collie from Gonzalez in terms of skill and ability.

Two defensive players down for JAX - One is DE Quentin Groves but not sure on the other yet. The other player was Landry and they were taken out of the game.

AP has some conditioning issues... ARGH! IV at halftime and he is still sitting around on the sideline.

AP back in now.

DeAngelo Williams limping off the field
How serious does this look? I'm having flashbacks of reading "Brady limping off the field" in week one last year. :porked:
Looked like a twisted ankle. He had a slight limp, but it didn't look like anything too serious.
any word on whether or not he returns today?
Haven't heard a word about it, but from the looks of it I'd be shocked if he didn't. Of course with the game getting out of hand you never know.

Eddie Royal just got his bell rung and is down on the field.

update: now off the field and saying he'll be ok.

Not much new, but here's a CBS update on Gonzalez:

Anthony Gonzalez, WR INDNews: Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez left Sunday's Week 1 game vs. the Jaguars with a right knee injury. Gonzalez wasn't touched on the play in which he was hurt. He started his route, then fell to the ground. He was helped off the field and put no pressure on the right leg. His return was listed as questionable.Analysis: Gonzalez's knee seemed to just collapse on him, which isn't a good sign at all. Gonzalez has the chance to replace Marvin Harrison in the Colts offense this season and become a stud Fantasy WR, but this knee injury might put a stop to that. We will update you on this situation when more information becomes available.

McNabb walked into the locker room, with 38-10 lead he's done for the day I'm sure. But no word since on the injury. I'm sure Reid will address it after the game in the presser.

McNabb walking back onto the field (injured ribs). Looks like he's in a ton of pain but is walking out to be with the team. Presumably he'll have to wear a flak jacket for a few weeks IF he can be on the field.

NFL.com reports that Anthony Gonzalez is expected to miss 2-6 weeks with a knee injury suffered in the first half Sunday.

No one was within three yards of Gonzalez when he collapsed coming off the line of scrimmage. He was initially listed as questionable to return, but NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that Gonzalez suffered a strained ligament in his right knee and will undergo further testing Monday. Rookie Austin Collie will likely benefit most from Gonzalez's absence, with Dallas Clark also assuming some of his targets.

Per roto world
