Week 10 Suicide Pick Strategy (1 Viewer)

For the ones still alive, I'm assuming most of us sweated it out with Chicago and possibly Tampa, so congrats on moving on to week 10. Now who's the popular choice this week? San Diego looks like the clear cut favorite so far. Anyone disagree?

I'm liking the Cardinals. They're at home, the offense has been solid, and the 49ers are just terrible and in the midst of changes at both QB and head coach. The Chargers over the Chiefs also looks good, but after sweating out a survivor pick of the Jets at home vs. the Chiefs a few weeks ago, I'm not so quick to say that KC represents a slam dunk. They had a lot of fight in them in that game as well as last week vs. the Bucs.

The defenses of KC and SEA are incredibly banged up. Seahawks are making the longest trip between NFL cities and playing at 1pm EST.

Chargers are rested: LT, Gates, Phillips ready to explode.

KC: Surtain, Derrick Johnson, Brandon flowers hurting.

If Quinn wasn't starting I would even look at Cleveland. Denver defense could not stop Univ. of Washington; Cutler pressing...

I'm going with Carolina off a bye against the Raiders. Arizona and Miami are also decent plays.
my thoughts exactly. not too worried that car is on the road. i have the feeling at least one of either ari or miami will lose and knock out a lot of folks. am avoiding them both. sf could get up for the new coach. can't trust mia yet. car is solid on both sides of the ball, great coaching, well rested coming off bye.

after squeaking by with the bucs last week, i think it would be a slap in the face to the football gods for me to pick against KC again. doesn't -15.5 seem a bit high for the chargers anyway? chiefs took playoff-bound teams down to the wire the last two weeks....is there any chance whatsoever JAX loses to a winless team for the second straight week?that being said, i'm going with SD unless i hear conclusively that S-Jax won't play, in which case i'll take the jets.

i honestly think ARZ is the best play this week. they've yet to lose at home, and besides, MIA has a couple pickable games the next couple weeks.

I'd say JAX is a lock this week. No way they drop 2 in a row to 0 win teams. Detroit is bad, and they will be starting a QB that has never played an NFL game yet, or a QB that hasn't played or practiced in nearly a year on a new team he just signed with 2 days ago.

I also like SD and AZ.

OT: I think JAX defense is a great start this week as well, look for alot of fumbles, sacks, and INT's.

 down to JAX or SD for me. tyler thigpen seems to be coming into his own and makes me hesitant. if culpepper starts i can't imagine not picking against him.... 4 days to learn a playbook?

Is it definite that Orlovsky ain't playing?

There's too many easy games this week. Guaranteed one of the 'sure' wins loses this week taking out a bunch of survivors to this point.

I've gone against the Cheifs 3 weeks in a row, and am seriously considering a 4th week in a row. The Chargers are coming off a bye, and the Cheifs are coming off a demoralizing loss. The Chargers are also a -1000 favourite on the moneyline! -1000! thats just insane. Vegas is pretty confident that the Chargers will win, which is encouraging.

The Panthers also seem to be a good play. They are coming off a bye, and the Raiders looked like #### last week. The Raiders could be angry after last game's performance and really show up this week though.

The Chargers can't afford to lose this game if they want to make the playoffs, i'll go with them.

I've already used many of the "easy" win teams this week: Arizona, SD, NYJ and Carolina leaving me down to basically Miami or Jacksonville. I had locked in Miami for most of the week in a pool thats up to $1,400 but changed it to Jacksonville and will probably leave it there. I think Del Rio and the Jags won't be taking Detroit lightly and the lions don't even have the talent that Cincinnati has and will be starting either Stanton or 3-day Culpepper. While I don't think Miami or Jacksonville are mortal locks, both are decent picks. Miami's talent is probably more even to Seattle compared to Jax vs DET and that is why I'm taking Jax. IMO Miami have won some games using unscouted formations that caught teams by surprise and think that advantage is gone. Add to that the slight chance for rain (I like to avoid poor weather games since they can be less predictable due to sometimes weird happenings) and that clinched it for me.

Edited to add that even though it didn't factor in but 2%, I could still use Miami in the future against OAK or KC if I make it that far.

Althought I see some "easy" games on the schedule, some of those teams have been used. I find myself at this point, with over $3k on the line, second guessing my options...or trying to find that hole in my selection. My gut has me down to Jax, can they really lose 3 in a row to Cleveland, Cincy, and Detroit?, Jets...no Jackson, but the Rams have owned the Jets.....Miami..we all know about west coast teams coming east and next week they have Oakland at home. Carolina looks good, Oakland is 0-7 su in the past 7 at home in November, but Carolina plays at home next week against Detroit..mighty tasty! So for me, Jax, Jets, Miami, and Carolina...want to play a home team....looks like Miami against a Hasslebeckless Seahawks.

Should I be nervous about taking Carolina if Walter ot Tui starts in place of Russell? It is no secret that Russell has struggled mightily. I do not know much about Walter and Tui but I have to think that those guys are more capable of getting the ball downfield than Russell is at this point. Could there be a "rally around the new QB" or am I overthinking this, are the Raiders just that bad? I know Walter can be a turnover machine but I thought he at times has shown an ability to move the chains. I have Carolina in and don't know if I should now look to ARI or MIA. I don't know why but I have a strong sneaking suspicion that either 1 or both of ARI and MIA will lose. This is hard.

My two cents and gut says to stay away from AZ, SF swept them last year, Hill played pretty well when he started last year, any team with a great RB like Gore I tend to stay away from if possible. I love Carolina, but think I will use them next week against Detroit at home..of course you have to get there first, but generally I try and plan in 3 week visions.

You guys are crazy using Car on the road this week, since you can use them next week at home against Detroit. This week has to be SD or Ari.
