Will Bush be a lame duck?

Do you dare start Pierre?

Don't take the Packers' ground game for Grant-ed.

Lots of points and yards for the Saints? It'll be a Brees....

Stay tuned for news and inactives.

As cheesy as that is, it still gave me a giggle. Well done, JP.

Saints running back Reggie Bush will be inactive for tonight's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Other inactives for the Saints: cornerback Aaron Glenn, cornerback David Pittman, fullback Mike Karney, linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar, tackle Jermon Bushrod, receiver David Patten and Joey Harrington (as the third quarterback).

Packers declared WR James Jones, third QB Brian Brohm, DB Charlie Peprah, RB DeShawn Wynn, LB Nick Barnett, OT Breno Giacomini, OL Allen Barbre, and DE Jeremy Thompson inactive for Week 12.

Interesting that they still haven't IR'd Barnett, over a week past his season-ending injury. Is there no one else? [/achilles]

Everyone appears to be on the Packers, which is not a good sign. The Saints opened at -2.5 and it is now a pick-em. I would not be surprised to see it go to Green Bay being favored by 1 by game time. Not sure how much Bush's absence affected that line. This will be New Orleans' first real home game since Oct 12. I would say they got screwed royally by the schedule makers. They are 3-1 at home, but should be 4-0, as that Minnesota game was just a bizarre win that never should have happened (see Gramatica for one). I've just got a hunch New Orleans will pull this one out. A lot of people think the Saints don't have a running game, but I wouldn't be surprised if Thomas and Deuce do OK here, at least well enough to let Brees do his magic. A lot is being made of Green Bay's #3 rated pass defense. Let's see, in 6 of their games they faced Tavaris Jackson, Brian Griese, Charlie Frye, Kerry Collins, Gus Frerotte and a rusty Kyle Orton last week. Kitna got 276 yds and 2 TD's, Romo got 260 and a TD, rookie Matt Ryan got 194 and 2 TD's. They did treat Manning badly in Week 7 by virtue of 2 picks returned for TD's, but Manning was moving the ball. Many of those games had relatively low passing yardage due to the fact that teams were able to run so well on them. Minnesota got 407 yds on the ground in 2 games, Dallas 217 yds, TB 178 yds, Atl 176 yds, Ten 178 yds. No wonder their pass defense looks so good.

Saints win 31-24.

Saints have under preformed all year for most part and give up the big play. Im just not confident in them right now. You could be right. Its a tough game to pick.

With Reggie Bush I'd be with you, but look at the matchups:Green Bay pass offense vs. New Orleans pass defense - The Saints can't stop anyone and the Pack have some of the best WR options around. Edge - Packers.

Green Bay run offense vs. New Orleans run defense - Not as big of a margin here as the LBs for the Saints have been making plays with Vilma, Fujita and co. Problem is, it is usually 4-6 yards down field. Grant's getting on track and looking pretty good. Slight edge - Packers.

New Orleans run offense vs. Packers run defense - This would be a landslide with Deuce, Reggie and Pierre. With Bush out the advantage declines, but Pierre could easily be poised for a big game. The Packers are not good vs. the run of late. Edge - Saints.

New Orleans pass offense vs. Packers pass defense - This is THE KEY MATCHUP, with Drew Brees racking up yards by the chunks this season. Colston? Moore? Henderson? Shockey? Doesn't seem to matter, Brees gets his yards. The Packers have a great DB corps, so if they can slow him down or get a few turnovers, this could get away from the Saints - but Brees is unreal this season. Edge - I'll call it even.

Special teams - This would be a landslide to the Saints if Bush was playing, but he's not. Pierre will likely still run back kickoffs and maybe Henderson or Moore takes punt return duties. The kicker is a rookie, but Crosby is hardly a seasoned veteran. Green Bay gets the slight edge here.

Coaching? Both are solid, but Sean Payton gets my vote.

All in all, Packers have a slight edge due to no Reggie Bush, and that's the big difference. Brees could keep this close but on paper it is a Green Bay victory, along the lines of 34-27 Packers.

Pretty sure I'm toast but I need the Saints offense to have a stinker. Deuce get almost no touches and maybe fumble and Brees to max out around 240-1-3 or something like that. I bit on the Sage over Roeths hype and it's gonna cost me the playoffs in one of my leagues. Not that I expect it to happen but the Packers pass defense has a shot atleast. Wish me luck!

I have no players in this game, I've already won my FF this week, I'm not betting on it, and since it affects the Steelers in no way, I don't even have a rooting interest.

But I'm expecting an entertaining game between two pretty good teams.

Looking forward to a good game. I have already won my game and I have three players going tonight. I am looking for high score.

Brees

Kaesveharn

Montgomery

Doesn't ESPN check for color contrast?

It's just very, very strange to see a Saint have no head when it falls on the screen where it says "3rd and 10" on the field.

Around week 5, I picked up Moore off waiver wire. Then a few weeks back I released him again; I figured with Colston back he was done producing.

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY?????

Nice tackling/pursuit by GB. Maybe if they cut those gross Predator hair-do's the wind drag wouldn't have slowed them down.

Rodgers on his way to a miserable day.

edit: some guy named Shockey caught a ball. FA pickup?
