Week 12 New England RB Updates (1 Viewer)

Since the game was on Thursday night, maybe Yudkin has heard something earlier this week?

I'm sure several people were burned by starting BJGE last week. (Not that Morris did much, but he did more than BJGE.) Any idea how Morris came out of the game?

By the way......anyone else knee deep in NE and Denver RB xxxx? Seems like I am trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat every week. :goodposting:

I started BJGE and stashed Hillis. Yes, it cost me this week. (Insert emoticon for being kicked in the nads by a donkey here)

The Pats haven't practiced since the Jets game so not much new has happened other than Jordan seems to have aggravated his injury (so he'll probably be out again this week).

Bear in mind that the Pats RBs collectively only totaled 17 carries for 63 yards against the Jets and they had 20 carries for 81 yards against the Dolphins the first time they met this season.

If NE gets behind early they may have to pass a ton like they did against the Jets. I'm guessing Morris should be well enough to get his usual but still shared workload.

on his off days on the couch?

dude , that is a totally negative attitude.I have respect for all things parcells, the new look miami, and their run defense, but I'm not planning on the pats falling behind early again.morris is BACK, baybee!

Jordan reinjured himself in practice at some point last week or the end of the week prior.

As long as Morris didn't reinjure himself, I think he gets the majority of the carries this upcoming week. 60-70% of the carries including goal-line work, with Green-Ellis and Faulk getting the rest.

I think they went freakishly heavy on 3 wide sets vs the jets because they were chasing and belichick thought it was working in that particular game --- 3 wides is faulk's wheelhouse.

I also think what they would prefer to do is run the ball a lot more in 2 te sets, which would be right up sammy's alley.

if morris is actually 100% healthy, I'm afraid wunderkind bjge will be at splinter risk this week.

the only 2 things that have historically kept sammy off the field have been maroney and health.

I see your quote and I'll raise you:Started BJGE.......stashed Hillis.......and have E.Graham/S.Jackson/Edge on the roster.

Also, keep in mind that S.Morris CAME from the Miami Dolphins.......so he might have a little more motivation this wk.

I get the feeling that Morris will be a bigger part of the offense this week. But starting him against Miami AND coming off an injury.....I wouldn't start him unless I was desperate.

Started Hillis and stashed BGE on 2 teams. Stashed BGE because the Jets are arguably the hardest team to run against in the NFL. And yes, I feel very lucky with the results that Hillis got me.I'm going to continue to stash BGE as I think that Morris will get injured again. I think that a lot of people don't realize how old Morris is because he came on late in his career. He is 31.

I'm told Morris should be "good to go" this week and that the Pats are back to full pads, full contact practice with an emphasis on beefing up the run (first full contact practice in a month). That leads me to believe that Morris should see a fair amount of carries if he can move the ball any and the other guys will see less action than the past few weeks.

 Thanks for the updates. Hopefully holding onto Morris pays dividends down the stretch.

 I started Morris over Ronnie Brown (40+ pts on the bench) when they played earlier and Morris' motivation was not really a factor. Unfortunately, the cheatsheets and threads here were extremely high on Morris and him over Brown lost me that week. I think Morris had less than 30 total yards and 0 TDs.

Jordan out of practice again, Morris practicing again today (both as expected). As I mentioned last week, I would expect Jordan to be out this week against Miami. Morris probably will see the most carried this week of the RBs, but again be forewarned it's New England and others could get a fair amount of work and/or the Pats could abandon the run.

No kidding! This is last week's line and this is without Jordan!

M. Cassel ....... 8 - 62

K. Faulk ......... 8 - 38

S. Morris ........ 5 - 14

B. Green-Ellis . 2 - 9

H. Evans ........ 2 - 2

that's entirely circumstantial.if you think the 'phins game will play out like the jets game, then that might be what you get.

Been holding onto Sammy as insurance; hope he can stay healthy & produce in case I need him in the upcoming weeks. Wasted fantasy $$ on picking up Jordan a few weeks ago, and finally dropped him last week. I feel for those who are counting on a NE RB as a regular starter....
