Miami at Detroit
Ronnie Brown: Just a terrible game last week. He will rebound nicely on Turkey Day. Shaun Rogers is cleared to play DT for Detroit but they are holding him out on the short week. That is good news for Brown owners. Start him for sure.
Kevin Jones: OUT…sorry fellow owners, this one hurts a lot.
Arlen Harris: Yikes…I hope you have better options as Miami is pretty stingy on the run, allowing a meager 3.4 ypc on the season and 0.5TDs per game. I know owners like to find sleepers and make themselves look extra smart…I would pass on this one.
Tampa Bay at Dallas
Carnell Williams: Had a decent game last week but look for him to be shutdown by a Dallas defense that is allowing only 3.5 ypc and 85 yards rushing per game on the season. Williams will be lucky to scrape 75 yds together in Big D.
Marion Barber III: A good RB2 and better flex RB. He has 9 TD on the season but will only touch the ball about 10 times a game. He makes the most of it.
Julius Jones: An RB2 at best most weeks. Barber vultures all his TD chances inside the 5 and 10 yard line. Looked like he might score on a screen pass last week but he was stopped just short and in went Barber to clean up.
Denver at Kansas City.
Denver gives me a headache trying to figure them out but here we go.
Tatum Bell: Bench Him!!! Why? Well he was upgraded to probable last Saturday and your truly inserted him into the line up in a couple of leagues…Shanhan, you ole fox you!!! Apparently Tatum has bad big toes and I wouldn’t trust that he will play a lot this week even though Shanny says he is the starter.
Mike Bell: Had 2 TDs last week so he probably will be deactivated for the game on Thursday. Probably the safest of the 3 options.
Damien Nash: Keep an eye on him. WW pick up for sure.
Larry Johnson: Just insert and enjoy. Will find running room against a beat up defense traveling on a short week into a hostile environment. I expect Herm Edwards to unleash HELL on Denver. Expect LJ to be pumped, primed, and ready to show the world that he is the premier back and the NFL is not just the LT show.
Arizona at Minnesota
Edge: The Vikes run defense is really really really good. Bench him if you can.
Chester Taylor: The Cards lost their best defensive player along the line in Bertran Berry this week. Look for a bad defense to only get worse.
Carolina at Washington
DeShaun Foster: Left the game with an elbow injury last week. He is said to be ready to roll on Sunday but I would be leery of putting him in there…watch the Sunday Morning reports. Coach Fox has a very interesting situation…Williams finally broke out last week and piled up 100 yards on the Rams. We could see more of DeAngelo in the coming weeks and playoffs.
DeAngelo Williams: If he is named the starter than by all means play him.
Ladell Betts: This is not a good match up. Forget what Carolina did early in the season…the last few weeks they have really shut down the run game pretty well. You have to think Carolina will win this game by a good margin.
Cincinnati at Cleveland
Rudi Johnson: Start him
Droughns/Wright/Harrison: This is a good match up for the Browns. It is not clear who is starting so you will need to check the Sunday injury reports.
Houston at New York Jets
Samkon Gado: Did well last week and the Jets are a very nice match up to run on. I feel however that Wali Lundy will get more yards but there may be room for both to be considered as starters in the roles of RB2 or flex leagues.
Wali Lundy: Had a TD last week, look for more of him against the Jets. He has a lot more talent than Gado.
Leon Washington/Kevan Barlow: Houston is also a very soft run defense to go up against. Barlow has had more TD than anything this season. Washington could have a nice game though and rack up about 100 yards. There is probably room for both of these guys in larger leagues this week.
Jacksonville at Buffalo
Fred Taylor: Start him. He had a good week against the Giants, short week of practice and then travel time to Buffalo. He could be tired and we might see a little more MJD this week but look for Taylor to get 15-20 touches on Sunday.
Maurice Jones Drew: Keep playing him in flex leagues and PPR leagues.
New Orleans at Atlanta
Deuce McAllister: A decent RB2 choice week in week out
Reggie Bush: Starting to break out a little more. Look for more of him this week.
Warrick Dunn: The Falcons have been sliding and Dunn has been a bad start the past few weeks. New Orleans gives up a lot of rushing yards so I would look for Dunn to have a good game on Sunday…maybe a big game.
Jerious Norwood: If Dunn doesn’t get it done, then perhaps it’s time for Norwood to be introduced into the line up more often.
Pittsburgh at Baltimore
Fast Willie Parker: Tough match up as Baltimore is stingy against the run however, you cannot keep him out of your line up right now. He is scoring from all angles so keep riding him.
Jamal Lewis: The Lewis we all got to know in 2003 seems to be making his way back. No reason to keep him on the bench even though the Steelers are pretty good against the run. Steelers are suddenly 4-6 and not quite out of the playoffs yet. If they could get to 6-6…Lewis will not score 3 TDs again this week.
San Fran at St Louis
Frank Gore: Big, Big day should be in the cards for Gore. I look for 100+ combined yards and a TD on Sunday.
Steven Jackson: Did lose Pace for the season. He should still be a good play most weeks but he sure was not hot last week.
Oakland at San Diego
Any Oakland RB: Bench them all. Lamont Jordan is likely done for the year.
LaDainian Tomlinson: 150+ yds and 3-4 TDs??? Maybe only 1-2 TD this week.
Michael Turner: Should see more time on Sunday as San Diego should blowout the Raiders.
Chicago at New England
Thomas Jones: Jones did very well in New York the past 2 weeks with rushing totals of 113 and 121 yards. It will be much tougher to find room this week in New England. I still look for TJ to grind out some yards.
Corey Dillon: In 3 games in November, CD has a total of 177 yards on the ground, a 4.9 average and 3 rushing TD. He has had only 1 game where he carries the ball 20 times. Look at these numbers…16, 20, 5, 17, 10, 14, 3, 13, 11, 12…He has 121 attempts or 10 carries a game. He is in the true form of an RBBC.
Laurence Maroney: He has 138 attempts for the season. 116 yards last week and a TD has owners excited for the stretch run. Always best as a 3rd RB in flex leagues. Will not push Dillon out of his goal line duties for right now.
New York Giants at Tennessee
Tiki Barber: Had his worst game in probably the last 4 years against the Jags on MNF. Should bounce back hard this week. The Giants have to snap out of the funk they are in if they want to make a playoff run.
Brandon Jacobs: Only good for inside the 5 dives.
Travis Henry: 123, 178, 107, and 143…those are his rushing totals in 4 of the last 6 games. Is on pace for 250+ carries, 1,150 yds and 8 TDs…more than most expected. This is a tougher match up for Henry but he should have a decent day.
Philly at Indy
Brian Westbrook: Have to assume McNabb out of the line up will have an adverse effect on him. Last year he followed McNabb to the IR for the rest of the year. I’m just saying…
Joseph Addai: Clearly the best RB in Indy at this point. Is getting about 60%+ of the workload. Has 52 touches in the past 3 games vs Rhodes 33. Decent match up against the Eagles.
Dominic Rhodes: Not going to get the touches that Addai will see.
Green Bay at Seattle
Ahman Green: Solid RB2 start almost every week.
Shaun Alexander: Reports show he will see more action on MNF. Watch the injury report closely over the weekend. He could be a nice surprise for the playoffs.
Everyone enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday. And remember to always let the people you love know just how much you truly love them as you never know what the future holds. Peace to all the Ministry faithful.
