Week 13 2025 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

Fighting to stay alive in the final playoff spot at 5-7 with 2 weeks to go. I had Monangai and Goedert go Friday and he had St Brown. So after being an underdog, I am now projected pretty much an even coinflip going into Sunday.

My lineup locks are Stafford/Nix at QB and Superflex.
CMC in my other RB slot.
Sutton going to be a lock as well for me in WR1 spot.

Leaves me with 3 more positions to fill... 2 flex/1 WR

This is the order I have them now... PICK 3!

PPR

WR Jakobi Meyers (@TEN)
WR Deebo Samuel (DEN)
RB Tyjae Spears (JAC)

--- (in the running)

RB Michael Carter (@TB)
WR Greg Dortch (@TB)
WR Alec Pierce (HOU)
WR Tez Johnson (ARI)
WR Jordan Addison (@SEA) (my opponent is playing Jefferson so would rather just not play him at all)
RB Devin Singletary (@NE)

I like Jakobi matchup and the volume he has been getting. Not sure about Deebo or Spears though... I can see myself wanting to replace one or both with Michael Carter or Dortch as I like their matchup.

I guess my question comes down to how much does Carter have to gain with Demercado being out and just Bam Knight to compete with. I just saw that Dortch has been doing so well because MHJ has been out. So if he comes back I guess my question is just about Carter. (@TB).

I am just can't pick 1 of the 3 for my NFFC 1st place team so this is a very important decision and I can't seem to make it so I will leave it up to you.

PPR I have to sit 1 of Waddle, Bowers or Michael Wilson.

Honestly I can't decide. You pick.
Wow, not a bad problem to have... unless you pick the wrong one I suppose lol.

With that said... if I were you, I would bench Waddle. I believe Bowers and Michael Wilson will eat this week. Waddle I could see laying an egg and you don't need that.

I'd sit Wilson

Last minute advice. Standard scoring non-ppr league.

Start one from:

Olave vs MIA - Assuming he plays; has the best floor of the bunch but need to catch him when he scores TD's
Johnston vs LV - Zero catches in his last game; he is boom or bust
Deebo vs DEN - McLaurin is back but will draw Surtain which could help Deebo; That Den defense is great and Mariota may not have time to throw

Thoughts?
Olave- high floor
Johnston- high ceiling
Deebo-I have no idea
so...
Olave

Desperate for a must-win in a 14 team desert of awfulness.

4 points per passing TD

Daniel Jones vs The Texans who made Josh Allen look like NYG Daniel Jones

or

Sam Darnold vs. Min

somewhat related . . .

pick on in ppr

Alec Pierce vs The Texans

or

BTJr. @ Ten

or

O. Gadsden vs. LV
Sam's The Man
and
Gadsen

PPR league, need one RB

RJ Harvey @ WAS or Devin Neal @ MIA

Right now I have Neal in. When Kamara got hurt last week, Neal got 7 targets and 5 receptions. So it seems like he has a safe PPR floor. I'm afraid he'll lose red zone carries to Taysom or Estime. But Miami has a terrible rush D. The unknown is, how much will NO use their 2nd and 3rd string RBs? Last week gave no clues because only Kamara and Neal were active.

Harvey is Denver's "#1," but Sean Payton likes to rotate in multiple RBs. Washington's rush D isn't great, either, but they can be attacked through the air even more. So I don't think Denver will just pound the rock even if they're winning. Harvey has proven this year to be a threat catching passes, too.
Harvey for me this week

Must-win game in the most old-school, basicist of basic scoring League, ever:
Rushing TD/6
Receiving TD/9
3 pts at 80 yds rushing *or* receiving
3 more points at 100+ rush *or* rec

Starting Jaylen Warren vs Bills at 1RB slot, even though Gainwell is stealing work.

Options for 2nd RB:

Bucky Irving vs Cardinals (legit concerns about White/Tucker sharing touches/scores).
Tyrone Tracy @ Patriots - just don't like the matchup, as Pats D crushes the run.
Rhamondre Stevenson vs Giants - how much work will he see?
Tyler Allgeier @ Jets - same as RS above. Wish the Falcons were better.

Thanks!

Tough one
Irving will be on a pitch count
Tracy has a tough matchup
Stevenson will split carries but MIGHT get the goal line work
Allgeier is interesting, obviously Robinson is the lead back but against the Jets I expect The Falcons to be run heavy
And Allgeier does get goal line work
I still put Irving first but Allgeier is a very tempting sleeper

Wow. That's a tough call for sure. I can't believe this is even close...

So, NFFC is PPR scoring not TE Premium, correct? That's a knock against Bowers because he'll likely see a lot of targets but, how much yardage & TD upside does he have? Will Greg Olsen be able to unlock him, and the #31 scoring offense, against one of the best defenses against TEs? Olsen has been an OC for 14 years since 2005 and has fielded 2 top 10 scoring offenses (10th both times). Once with the Rams when Scott Linehan was HC and the other was with the Raiders with Gruden as HC so, I question if Olsen had much to do with those top 10 finishes.

Waddle is the big play option IMO. Teams don't pass a lot against the Saints but, that doesn't make them good against the pass. They are below average in pass TDs yielded (25th), forcing INTs (22nd) and net yards/attempt (21st). Waddle scores about every other game, there should be opportunities today.

The Bucs are mostly a pass funnel defense and with Bucky & Baker playing they should be able to score against the Cardinals who, struggle running the ball. MHJ's return will put a ding in Wilson's targets but, I still think he could still see 9 or so targets with Brissett, who is averaging 44 attempts per game, at QB.

Very tough call but, as crazy as it feels to say, I think I would go with

Waddle>Wilson>Bowers

Brissett, Jacoby ARI QB@TBB Sun 11:00 a.m.
Or
Darnold, Sam SEA QBvs MIN Sun 2:05 p.m

Thanks!.
Good problem to have. Feels like a coin toss but I think I lean Brissett because he is averaging 44 passes per game, the Cards can't run the ball and the Bucs are a pass funnel D.

Brissett>Darnold

I hate relying on Olave for a score but, he's the only one of your options with 10 target upside.

QJ has a great matchup but, has really cooled off and is tough to rely on for receptions, let alone TDs, ATM.

Deebo has the highest TD potential but, that matchup is brutal.

Olave>Deebo>QJ

Welcome aboard @xxxFTWxxx .

I agree with Jakobi and Deebo for sure. I assume you have Spears in because he should see about 5 targets? That's the only reason I can come up with for starting a backup RB on the #30 scoring offense facing the #1 rush defense in the league.

I think Dortch is going to take the biggest hit from MHJ coming back. Pierce is a decent dart throw but, it's a tough matchup for sure and, the rumors of Daniel Jones being hobbled have me concerned that he will not take many seven step drops to target Pierce downfield. Tough to trust Addison with Bosmer at QB on the road at the #7 scoring defenses house.

Singletary has a decent chance at a GL TD but, I question if he has much more to offer. Even if he gets 15 carries as it seems Kafka is good with. The Pats rush defense hasn't been as good over the last three games but, they're still #2 in rushing and #4 in scoring against. Singletary is a big gamble.

No real interest in Michael Carter for me. He was efficient last week but, I think the Cardinals have given up on the run for the most part.

That leaves Tez... It's a good matchup and the Cards can score enough to keep the Bucs pressing. With Bucky back, there may not be as many opportunities to go around. But, he does seem to have the most TD upside of your options (4 in 6 games since Evans went down). And the Bucs were still running a lot even when Bucky was out.

Personally I go with

Tez>Singletary>Carter>Tyjae

Good luck

I can make an argument for Tracy as being the best balance of opportunity and upside. But, he's got a tough, tough matchup.

But, I think I would go with Bucky. We don't know if he is truly "right" but, if he is he's by far your best player in a plus matchup.

This is about risk aversion, I generally take risks

Bucky>Tyrone>flip a coin

0.5 PPR. Pick 1.

MHJ vs TB
Pittman vs Houston (Jones playing on a broken leg)
BTJ vs TEN
I see the issue.

Can't really trust BTJ, even if I want to.

I think, if Jones is truly hobbled, his passes will be of the three step drop variety which, suits Pittman's game. I also think it's important to remember that Josh Allen lost both of his tackles in that game vs Houston, Jones plays behind one of the best offensive lines in the game and, James Cook is a great RB but, he's not Jonathan Taylor. With Tyler Warren, JT, Pittman & Pierce behind that offensive line, I think Jones has a chance to be efficient and feed Pittman.

All that being said Jacoby Brissett is throwing 44 passes per game (44, 36, 31, 44, 57 & 49). He saw 12 & 10 targets in his last two games with Brissett, scoring in both. The Bucs are a pass funnel defense and they can score on offense. Coming off the injury is a concern but, if he's good to go he's got nice upside and downside today.

MHJ>Pittman>BTJ

1/2 ppr.... Which DEN WR to start?

Sutton or Franklin (@WAS)?
Coming off the bye it's a little unclear but, it sure looked like Franklin was Nix's #1 target for the past few weeks.

But, it's a good matchup for both so, I would be too worried about starting either. They should finish close to each other IMO.

I kinda lean

Franklin>Sutton

Rodgers may not be a big factor considering that Buffalo defense has been so turrible against the run.

Cleveland is just so much more talented and has so much more big play ability.

CLE>BUF

PPR pick 2
McConkey V LV
Sutton @ WASH
Deebo V DEN
Good options across the board.

I like McConkey because of the matchup. Sutton too.

Deebo is a fine choice but, I'd rather back the guy facing the Commanders defense than the Denver defense.

NOT a good offense, McCaffrey is great.
Cleveland at home in terrruble weather O/U 36.5 lowest on the board
SF is the D/ST to start @ the Browns they are mess on offense.

Go with Cleveland. As you mentioned, weather could help the D. Purdy just threw 3 picks last game. And they're getting so many sacks right now!
