Week 13: Waiver Wire Defense (1 Viewer)

The answer here was the Detroit Lions.

Hey how does a Matt Flynn Raider team sound as a defensive matchup? Great, right?

What if he had come in for Buffalo instead of Lewis or Tuel? Grab that defense.

Somehow people (right here, Nelson owner) got it in their heads that GB offensive players were a good start and Detroit was a gimme offensive matchup. Something went really wrong on perspective here.

After seeing what Glennon did last week I thought flynn could get similar stats...also a regretful nelson owner who started him. What I don't get is anyone who looks at the numbers knows you cannot run on detroit. You have to go pass heavy. Flynn had 8 pass attempts in the first half....gb coaching staff did nothing to adjust. Those 5 to 7 foot drops never worked. Where were the quick wr screens or short slants?

I hear ya. I have them or could play BUF, MIA, or NYJ....Not very confident but I think I have to stick with them @ home.

Wasn't just Flynn, that team totally gave up on both sides of the ball.

picked up BUF for this week and maybe more. concerned about Brees coming to town + the DB's w/ all the injuries and now suspensions... they have been a decent ride thus far, even w/o many tds.

Man, Baltimore really screwed me over. It isn't so much the 20 points...that's fine. No turnovers, no sacks...geez.

I think Cleveland would be a good play if the offense would not put the D on a short field too much. I'm thinking Buffalo might be the play I go with if I bench Seattle D.

I actually like JAC this week vs. CLE. Weeden will be under center and JAC has been pretty good in my ffpc league lately.

I noticed a possible trend where they played better on the road. In their last 6 games..

@ DEN - 12

@ TEN - 20

@ HOU - 12

vs. SDG - 1

vs. SF - 2

vs. ARI - 3

Missed out on the Bills.

I am using the Patriots this week and possibly Week 14.

Will use the the Chiefs depending on how they look and if Hali/Houston are healthy.

Still deciding between BUF and MIA ... BUF playing a "home" game in Toronto (a dome) is much less appealing than a true home game at Ralph Wilson; so I think I'll have to roll with MIA on the road.

BUF has a better ROS schedule

Same dilemma. Right now I'm starting SEA, but am seriously considering starting MIA @ NYJ as they are the only decent defense available on the wire. I would love to hear more input on this. Jets seem to have games where their offense disappears, and others where it goes off (although not lately). I have a hard time feeling confident in MIA.

Geno smith is awful. Dolphins should have a field day. Did I mention Geno smith is awful? He's good for a pick to the house or maybe he'll step out of the back of the end zone.

Laugh all you want, but he's played an entire season without a single Butt Fumble. Who was the last Jets QB who could say that?

Who is Brett Favre?

This is ffpc, so my scoring settings are favorable for team like JAC but it's quite funny how much better they've performed on the road lately.

Miami was huge today. I hope many of you picked them up and played them.

Does anyone think they can put up points against Pittsburgh next week? Or was this more about the Jets sucking than the Fins being stout?

I did pick them up and I did play them -- thank you, ye gods of FF.

I think this was more the Jets sucking. On paper, I think Miami can do well against a team like PITT, who through this season has been easy to make a one-dimensional offense. But now, with a running game showing signs of life, and Ben making better decisions and more than one passing option, this could be a middling fantasy DEF game.

Rolling the dice on either the Jets or Raiders next week; actually prefer the Raiders in this one. Buf or TB, who play each other also both look intriguing, and I like the Cards at home against the Rams.

Likely rolling with KC against WAS, though.

Started the Miami defense only because that's all that was left on the waiver wire. Everyone was in a bidding war for Buffalo. Glad that worked out, and I got lucky there, in a game I didn't need to win.

Going forward, all defenses that drop to waivers lock, and there's only a handful of defenses left. (Pittsburgh, Oakland are my top choices). I may have to ride out Miami for the playoffs, even at home against New England as the options are slim and almost none.

who convinced me Buff was the playoff team to own?
They still had 6 sacks and a fumble. I thought they did

Ok considering they had to play their home game in a dome vs a dome team. Atl also looked the best they have looked on offense all year. Still like buff matchups moving forward. Got them and kc in one league. Not sure who to play. Got a bye this week. Will probably base decision on how each does this week.

i have both also.....playing KC here on out...Washington -Oakland and Indy...oofffff

Rams are available. They have been great on the year, but middle of the pack recently - are they a good play at Arizona? My other options are Houston, Jax, Dallas, NY Giants

If I don't roll with OAK I'm thinking about HOU @JAC this Thursday. Their meeting a couple weeks ago was a fluke IMO and JAC is playing much worse at home versus away this year. They also got a decent amount of pressure on JAC the first time around (4 sacks).

Thinking of rolling them out over Carolina this week. After last night, I want no part of Drew Brees at home. Dude is going to be pissed.

I just noticed the Saints are available. They get a home game on SNF vs the Panthers, which isn't the best matchup, but the environment could be ripe for a few turnovers and sacks for the Saints D.

Not a big fan of Oakland's defense this week. The matchup looks good on paper. But those 10 AM games have been brutal for the Raiders.

What's everyone doing for week 14? I can't play CAR this week and my waivers are not looking so hot.
Same problem here. Not sure what to do.

Maybe actually go Saints ? Pissed off after last week, playing in dome, Carolina maybe due a poor performance ?

yeah Raiders aren't available for me, so I will have to go with Carolina or Dallas. Although I can pick up either the Jets or Steelers. What are everyone's thoughts on either the Jets or Steelers?
