:wolf:

If two teams below .500 square off on a pseudo-National network, does anyone actually watch?

If you own any of them for fantasy purposes, perhaps...

Hoping Rivers puts something up vs. the secondary and LT does what he usually does to the Raiders. :wolf:

Maybe Castillo will get to the QB tonight if he plays.

Anyone think this game score 43 and Over?

I think Jim Morra had the first pick in his local big money fantasy draft this year.

Let's hope his motivational ploy works!

:wolf:

INACTIVES:

Raiders: QB Marques Tuiasosopo (3rd), DB Michael Waddell, DB Darrick Brown, LB Ricky Brown, C Jake Grove, T James Marten, WR Ashley Lelie, DE Greyson Gunheim.

Chargers: QB Charlie Whitehurst (3rd), RB Michael Bennett, RB Billy Latsko, FB Mike Tolbert, G Kynan Forney, T Corey Clark, FB Kris Wilson, LB Marques Harris.

Yes, it's that bad - I highlighted Ashley Lelie....

What are you expecting from Rivers? I had him in until 5 minutes ago....just debating between him and Ryan.

I want to say least 215 and a TD or 2 but thats my problem. Either I start Rivers or I start Mcnabb @ NYG. 1st round playoffs and I rather play guy who's in warmer weather who's been little more consistent recently. If I were you I'd play Ryan. Seems like better bet for higher scoring game.

anyone know if Gates is healthy? MFL had a blurb about him appearing hurt in the game last week. Is Shockey the safer/better start this week?

This game has "bad" written all over it....but there is a decent possibility that there could be some fireworks.

LT2 should come out strong. Gates will be in the mix as well. Forget about the WRs.

The Powder Blues are a force though, gotta love that look.

The Raiders? That's the question. Will RunDMC actually...well....run? Or will Huggy Bear get all the love? Is Zach Miller going to do something tonight?

I would not be terribly surprised by any outcome here (aside from expecting the Chargers to win) - and by that I mean it could be 17-3 or 34-27. I'd lean towards the lower score, but if LT2 rolls the points will come. If Oakland wants to try and showcase something for the only big audience that they will get the rest of the way, ZMiller, Fargas and RunDMC may all play well.

I wouldn't touch this game with a 50' pole, but it could be more entertaining than you think.

I have the same decision and am going with Rivers.

I'm not a Charger fan, but I go over and over this in my mind, and I have no answer.

How can the Chargers be 4-8?

Could Merriman really make that much of a difference? The Giants lost a key defensive lineman. The Steelers have tons of injuries. And they're doing great. I know LT is hurt too, but is that really the key?

The last two years, this has been one of the great teams in football. Most of the players are still there. If Norv Turner is so bad, what about last year, then?

I don't get it.

Another game that can only be saved by FF. First week of the playoffs.

I have Kalimba Edwards.

He has Gibril Wilson, Nate Kaeding, and Darren Mcfadden.

:hophead:

I really think this game is gonna suck.

LT looks like he's running strong, primed for a big night, hope people didn't overthink it and bench him.

 That's always the danger of making a move like that - can you live with it all off-season knowing that you benched your stud? Did you outthink yourself out of a win?

Personally I'm willing to live and die with my stud back. Esp. when the opponent is a team he's ripped up in the past over and over.LT looked good till got down there where he's usually best. Dont get the pass play there. Ram it home. :(

1-7-OAK 7 (13:15) 21-L.Tomlinson up the middle to OAK 3 for 4 yards (28-Gi.Wilson). 2-3-OAK 3 (12:31) 21-L.Tomlinson up the middle to OAK 2 for 1 yard (27-R.Baker). 3-2-OAK 2 (11:56) 17-P.Rivers pass incomplete short middle to 85-A.Gates. 4-2-OAK 2 (11:50) 10-N.Kaeding 20 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-50-D.Binn, Holder-5-M.Scifres.
I hate life right now.Signed,LT Owner

It was 3rd at the 2.5 yard line and they just got stuffed twice.Looked like play action to Gates but he was doubled, and the line caved so Rivers did the right thing and throw it away.

LT is going to get his, don't worry... unless you're facing him in your playoffs. Then worry. Maybe you shouldn't even watch the rest of the game.

Yea, I'm just more confused on how the Chargers offensive line has sunk so far that they cant pound it in like they did last year. I wasnt trying to knock the play call just fact a year ago that would have been LT for 6 easy. Guess it just been combination of both LT and the offensive line.I know that alot guys are giving up on LT but I'm not so sure its just LT. Does appear the toe has been lingering. I notice his cuts and explosion isnt what it was last year. What do you think?

That's the difference right there.... when you get blocking up front like that, any NFL RB can score. (It does help if you're LT2 though...)

1. He was hurt2. His o-line was hurt3. #2 is more important than #1.

LT was definitely limited early by the toe, but he really looks almost all the way back now. Atlanta just had a tremendous defensive performance last week.

Getting back on topic, Im excited to see Higgins get the start. I loved this kid's raw quicks and speed and coming out of UTEP, now we can see how he's coming along as a route runner. He had a lot trouble running his routes under control when I watched him at the Senior Bowl, so it'll be interesting to watch him go in and out of his breaks and try to set up DBs tonight.

why punt on 4th and 1? I know they got good field position out of it, but heck, the season's over anyhow. Why not go for it?

That play call is so bad. I have seen it so many times. The TE has to flatten out to catch the ball and then has ZERO momentum going forward. He is an easy stop. You need to get 3 yards downfield and that makes it easy for the DB to undercut the route for an INT. Its just a bad play all together.

I debated starting John Carlson this week instead of Gates because he is really coming on and the Patriots dont really have anyone to cover the TE. Instead I stuck with start your STUDS. I'm already regretting that move the way the game is going.

I cant wait to see what Sproles does with more opportunity in his new home next year. LWash/Norwood might be his floor, not his ceiling.
