This is where we ask questions and offer help.

Thank you to all the posters who come here to offer that help.

A couple notes:

I attempt to give well considered responses to all questions posted. I can't get to everything, but I'll try.

1) This only works if people participate. If you ask for help it is good form to offer help to someone else.

2) Please post the matchup. e.g. Cousins vs Den or James Cook @ Mia

3) Please post important league scoring considerations (e.g. PPR, super-flex etc).

4) Please go easy on the nicknames, save that for other threads. We can't help if we don't know who you are talking about.

View this as an exercise to help focus your thoughts about teams in general. Players you own may not be involved in these WDIS questions but certainly you will own players on many of these teams. Analyzing other players will help you identify things you may have otherwise not considered.

(Joe Edit: When you ask, please let us know which way you're leaning. And more importantly, why. What do you see as the pros and cons. Most people will be much more likely to help if they feel like you've put in a little work on this as well.)

Let's move on to week 16

I'll start

Sam Darnold @ Seattle
Tua Tagovaiola v SF

I'm leaning Darnold but it feels very close to me.

Lost Montgomery this week so I need a PPR flex option.

Gus Edwards v Denver
Craig Reynolds @ Chicago
Cole Kmet v Detroit

At the moment I have Gus in because I think he is the short yardage guy for Denver.

Rush has had two nice games in a row and it's a good matchup this week but I'm going with Stafford at the Jets personally. Last week was a dud for sure but, he is playing for a contender that needs this win and he still has the best supporting case around him by a good margin.

Obviously pay attention to the weather but, for now I want as many IRL players who are playing for the playoffs in my lineup.

Tough choices here, I have Gus and Kmet in a PPR and would be less than thrilled to have to pick between the two. Anything else out there?

PPR Flex:

Jonathan Taylor v Ten (#25 v RBs)
Terry McLaurin v Phi (#1 v WRs)
Malik Nabers @ Atl (#30 v WRs)
Courtland Sutton @ LAC (#23 v WRs)

Currently rolling with Taylor almost certainly because he's a high volume guy, it's a good matchup which the Colts absolutely need and, I am hoping that his knucklehead play last week motivates the hell out of him.

Not in this league. We really scrape the bottom of the barrel and I am out of FA budges so, even if there was talent out there (Sione Vaki? Kimani Vidal?) it is unlikely I will get it when waivers run.

Pick 2, any 2 in superflex!

Bo Nix @ Chargers
Justin Herbert vs Broncos
Matt Stafford @ Jets

5 point passing tds

The thought of putting all my eggs into the Nix/Herbert basket on a Thursday night is really scary. Though many rankings have them above Stafford this week as of now.

I will be starting Puka, so a stack might be good there as well.

I like the stack for sure. You have three QBs all in the hunt for playoff seeding which is great IMO.

Personally, unless you think there is going to be some extreme weather I probably lean towards benching Herbert.

What about Strange? Would much rather start him over Kmet, but someone else will beat you to him if you are out of FAAB. After that, Vidal over Gus in a PPR would be my best guess.

2 qb .5 ppr
Flex spot:
Jeudy with DTR at qb vs the Bengals
Or
Jauan Jennings vs Miami

Same league…pick my starting RBs (2):
Najee vs Baltimore
Tracy vs Atlanta
Etienne vs Vegas

I also have Sincere and Jaleel Mcglaughlin on my bench although I doubt either plays this week

Waiver wire is Keandre Miller/Justice Hill/Ty Johnson/Craig Reynolds/Mostert/Estime/Herbert and other fodder

League 1 (.5 ppr) - Need 1QB, 1RB, 1WR, 1TE and 3 Flex (RB, WR, TE) - my current starters are in Bold.

QB - Daniels vs PHI, Nix @LAC
RB - C Brown vs CLE, Hubbard vs AZ, Tracy @ ATL, Pacheco vs Hou
WR - ASB @CHI, Lamb vs TB, Evans @DAL, Higgins vs CLE
TE - Otton @Dal, Ferguson vs TB, Pitts vs NYG

I know I shouldn't even be asking for help but my struggle is how to fit Higgins in. I can start up to 4 WR but would need to sit a RB. Brown & Hubbard have better projections. Ferguson has the best matchup and Otton has been terrible since Evans came back.

Jauan seems like the clear #1 WR on the Niners and, at worst the #2 target overall. With DTR at QB I think I would go with Jauan.

I wouldn't start Najee at Baltimore. I probably lean towards Etienne because I think he's a better talent with a better QB. But it's close.

.5 PT PPR…need 2:

Jeudy @ CIN (no Jameis)
Devonta Smith @ WASH (I have Hurts)
Jamo Williams @ CHI

If I had to bench anyone for Higgins it would be Hubbard. I think defenses are really keying in on him. He is high volume but hasn't hit over 3.6 ypc or 4.3 ypr in a month. So, if you're set on getting Higgins into the lineup that's the guy I would bench.

I have McBride and Jonnu smith…starting McBride but should I consider Smith over Jennings in my flex?

I can’t believe I’m about to start Rush over Purdy, but that’s what it has come to. The Cowboys play a bad Bucs pass defense and the 49’ers play a decent Dolphins pass defense. Purdy now has thrown for 159 yards or fewer in three of his past four games. I never thought I would be in this position, but here I sit.

QB question. I'm looking to block my opponent as best I can from picking up a QB.

I'm a favorite so I'm looking to block an option that has the most upside. Options:

* A. Rodgers vs LAR -- Rodgers clicking now especially w/ D. Adams. With B. Allen hurt and B. Hall limited I'd expect them to air it out. Pretty decent matchup although LAR will come out fighting since they're battling for a playoff spot.

* M. Stafford @NYJ -- I'd expect a bounce back performance this week from Stafford. Puka, Kupp...and it looks like Higbee could be back too. NYJ's secondary looked very ordinary against even Mac Jones.

* D. Maye @BUF -- Has upside with his legs, but is prone to some mistakes. The team surrounding him obviously is limiting them. Could be a classic letdown game for BUF. Then again, NE beat the hell out of this team for years. Could be payback time.

Which?

Thanks

I'll start

Sam Darnold @ Seattle
Tua Tagovaiola v SF

I'm leaning Darnold but it feels very close to me.
I agree with Darnold. Only fear is that if Howell is their starting QB could be a settled game early and MIN won't have to pass as much.

Lost Montgomery this week so I need a PPR flex option.

Gus Edwards v Denver
Craig Reynolds @ Chicago
Cole Kmet v Detroit

At the moment I have Gus in because I think he is the short yardage guy for Denver.
Oof... yeah I think Gus is the play? Maybe Kmet since the Bears are almost certainly going to be playing catchup all game.

PPR Flex:

Jonathan Taylor v Ten (#25 v RBs)
Terry McLaurin v Phi (#1 v WRs)
Malik Nabers @ Atl (#30 v WRs)
Courtland Sutton @ LAC (#23 v WRs)

Currently rolling with Taylor almost certainly because he's a high volume guy, it's a good matchup which the Colts absolutely need and, I am hoping that his knucklehead play last week motivates the hell out of him.
Could really see an argument for any of them here. I think I might have it Sutton > Taylor > Terry > Nabers. Taylor could have a great game, but I also feel like Richardson could snipe a rushing TD from him.

.5 PT PPR…need 2:

Jeudy @ CIN (no Jameis)
Devonta Smith @ WASH (I have Hurts)
Jamo Williams @ CHI
I don't think I can trust DTR. He was so bad last year. It is a great matchup, I consider the Bengals a must start against defense but, still don't think I could.

Devonta and Jameson see similar usage but I think we saw last week that Smith has the higher target ceiling with similar big play potential. And I am a fan of QB/WR the stack.

Devonta for me.

Assuming Kamara is out.... and if he's questionable going into the weekend I'll need to make a decision beforehand, obviously...

Adams vs. LAR
Wilson vs. LAR
Flowers vs. PIT
Hockenson at SEA

I don't see how I bench Adams with as hot as he's been. A-Rodg has been feeding him and I can see the Jets trying to keep up with the Rams via the air.

Honestly, even if Kamara was somewhat healthy I think I'd have to consider Adams instead of AK41 on MNF at Lambeau

Jonnu has 11 targets in three of his last four games and a TD in four of his last five (six total). I wonder if the question comes down to McBride vs Jauan at this point.

I think they all have similar potential and I may bench Jauan. It's a little counter intuitive as we generally see WR>>TE and there is concerns about floor relative to big play potential but, yeah I think I bench Jauan.

The Niners aren't right.

I can’t believe I’m about to start Rush over Purdy, but that’s what it has come to. The Cowboys play a bad Bucs pass defense and the 49’ers play a decent Dolphins pass defense. I'm not going to tell you otherwise. The Niners are off and as long as Trent Williams is out I question if they can right the ship.

I would start Stafford over Rodgers and Maye. His team has the most to play for and he has a very good skill players, a great coaching staff and has the most to play for.

Flex .. Standard Scoring... Pick 2

JTaylor vs Tennessee
ARSB @ Chicago
NCollins @ Chiefs
Wow. Ultimately this is a great problem to have. I might bench Nico mostly because the Chiefs defense is legit and Stroud has simply been off all year. Nico has the two TDs which is great but, 6 targets going 4-17-2 is a concerning stat line for me.

If you're not on board with that I probably bench Taylor because his team isn't very good and ARSB plays on the highest scoring offense on a team with a decimated defense.

Fire up your Lions.

Thanks @Chaka for the earlier answer. My other league also .5 ppr: Need 2 Flex, 1TE, 1D

Flex - Dowdle vs TB, London vs NYG, Hill vs SF
TE - Kincaid vs NE, Ferguson vs TB, Otton @ DAL
D - Broncos @ LAC, Colts vs TEN

Yes, definitely Adams. Maybe even if he's Q but going to play.

I think I bench London. The Falcons passing game is off. Even if Penix starts how can you trust them?

Dowdle is on a roll for the last month, getting very good volume, highly efficient (5.7 ypc over last 84 carries) and has a great matchup.

Reek had a dud this week but he's still been good since Tua got back.

At TE I probably start Kincaid because he's on such a high scoring offense. But I could be talked into Otton.

Probably the Broncos defense because they're the better IRL option.

Yeah just need a fill-in for Kamara. Don't own Miller. I will see what Thursday/Friday practice reports are. If Kamara is a full-go on Friday I'll have a pretty tough choice to make.

Wr2 probs

Pick one ppr

Devonta smith @ wash
Jamesion williams @ chi
Thielen vs arz

Pick a te
Andrews vs pitt
Jomnu smith vs sf

Adams easily

Need 2 RB/WR FLX

Brown vs CLV
Kamara @ GB
Miller @ GB
J Warren @ BAL

ASB
Puka
Sutton @ LAC
McConkey vs DEN
Theilen vs ARZ

Guess what I'm really asking: who is my flex?

Comes down to Devonta v Thielen for me. The Eagles punish opposing WRs so I am not disheartened by Thielen's 5-51. I could see him back to 10-11 targets this week.

Devonta otoh I don't think sees 10+ targets in back-to-back games. But, I think he still gets 6-7 and has as much big play ability as anyone in a plus matchup. L

Jameson is similar to Devonta IMO but a little less consistent.

Slight lean to Devonta over Thielen for me.

Love the stack also…so pick 2 you like Devonta and Jamo it appears. Worried about the CHI weather but maybe Jamo gets a slight bump also from the Monty injury.

Sorry, thought you only needed one.

Yeah, because of DTR I personally would go with Devonta and Jameson. If for no other reason we're talking about the #1 & #8 scoring offenses vs the #30.

Purdy @MIA
Arod v LAR
Stafford @NYJ

4pt passing. Yardage boosters.

Own Purdy, hoping to get Arod and/or Stafford off waivers

Initially thought I was gonna roll with Jameis @CIN .. but Stefanski is no fun 😔

I've seen similar versions of this one a few times already. I'm team Stafford over Rodgers and Purdy this week. He has great skills position options and great HC/OC and has the most to play for.

If the weather is crazy in NY this week I can see a pivot to Purdy but, he's been objectively bad since Trent Williams went down. If Williams isn't back Purdy isn't an option for me.

It's very close between Stafford & Rodgers without a stack. I do believe in the stack and, speaking of stacks, Aaron Rodgers has stacked two good games in a row (four if you're okay with sub 200 yardage totals).

The answer is, yes, it could sway me. Stacks offer more consistency in scoring but that works both ways. Rodgers has also thrown four more TDs than Stafford this year and the Jets do have a much better pass defense than the Rams.

At this time of year I put extra weight towards teams with something to play for but, I can easily talk myself into believing Rodgers is playing for legacy (and the ability to blame the Jets and not himself).

So, yes with the stack I also would probably go with Rodgers over Stafford.

One point about Maye - last week Buffalo was down 3 starters in their secondary. Don't know yet if those guys will be back or not. So something to keep an eye on.

Standard league Need one:

Kincaid vs NE
Strange vs LV
Freiermuth vs Bal
Hunter henry vs Buf
Ertz vs Phi?
I could try to make the argument for Freiermuth but, after last week I think I would have to go with Strange.

Right?

a few decisions

QB, underdog where I need to max and will take a risk
Tua vs SF
Richardson vs Tennessee
Penix vs giants
Leaning AR

QB evenly matched SF, pick 2
Caleb vs lions
Bryce vs cardinals
Brock at dolphins

Yes but I have Barkley and bijan and have scored the most points in the league so I was thinking Freiermuth for his safer floor?? thoughts? Note , I have Njoku but just looking for back up plan in case he doesn't go and not sure about new QB in Clev?

I think if Njoku plays i have to start him against CIN correct over all these?
