Footballguy

anyways, which players should we look to lock up for week 17? with som teams clinching, there has got to be value out there. doubt ill be trotting brady out there...

Leagues that go 16 weeks are as wimpy as the Colts quitting on their season after starting 14-0. Just made the championship game for the third straight year. Week 17 again. Trying to go back-to-back-to-back.

I'm in a points league that goes the full 17. I'm up fairly big, but I'm also curious about potential Week 17 standouts that might be available on the wire (it happens every year).

We combine week 16 and 17 scores.

It's fun to still be playing while all the other sucker leagues are watching on the sidelines.

Week 17 Championship? Brutal. Inexcusable after all these years not to think this one through.
 but on the other hand as a commish I was reading this thread and kind of liked the idea of combining week 16 and 17 scores for the championship it keeps it going through the whole season. I may need to look into that a little more.

My work league has a 2 week final - wk 16 and 17. Will be up about 30 after Longwell reduces my lead a little. Will be trotting out a couple new faces next week :kicksrock:

In on the Week 17 championship bandwagon. Which teams have nothing to play for? Colts and Chargers obviously - anyone else?
patriots?
Saints if Vikes loseedit to add Eagles if Vikes win
:headbang:Eagles still have the division to play for and being a 3 instead of a 5 or 6 would be a big deal.
My bad I thought the Eagles wrapped up the division and were just playing to try and get that 2nd spot.

in redrafts, i always loved week 17 championships. nothing like snagging some week 17 studs around week 10 and have people wondering if you've lost your mind :moneybag:

I've always considered the Week 16 titles the "junior championships" won by a bunch of cowards who are afraid to play in week 17. Its just a hobby. What are you afraid of?

OMG you're right, thanks, but I'm still too scared, hold me, thx big boy!

I used to feel that way as well. However, this season 2 of my leagues were changed to Week 16 championships and really it couldn't have been better. After years of dealing with Week 17 it's beyond relaxing to have the season over this week.Simply put - dealing with Week 17 championships is pure luck. The more luck you can eliminate from Fantasy the better.

So anyway, I grabbed Maclin on the wire before today's game. Same with Morgan, who I started over him, unfortunately. But, Maclin might be big for me next week. Weak spot at #2 WR obviously, so I'll be checking back here for some WW WR options...

Trying to pick a D too; isn't going to be easy. Had been goin with Cinci. Not surprisingly, there isn't ONE team available in either league that "needs" to win. Bears (v. Detroit) could be an option. And it looks like I'll probably try for Buffalo at home against Indy in the other league...

Both leagues had their Championships this week, but total points runs through W17. There are a lot of sidebets with individuals for total points. Some being quite large.

Matt Moore is playing for keeps in Carolina next week and Steve Smith is out. So Mushin M. may have some 1-week value... or maybe a sneaky Kenny Moore.
Good point(s), thanks. Always liked the overlooked Mushy too...

i commish a 32 team league... divisions and conferences are set up like the NFL.

with 8 division winners and the 4 wildcards, we have to play regular season through week 13, then 4 weeks of playoffs.

championship is next week. teams are still scoring big. no excuses. what helps is that we have very large rosters and with PPR and heavy IDP scoring, luck is thrown out and the best team still wins.

I'm in my league title game next week, it's #1 seed against #2 seed, All of my guys will be playing except for Steve Smith due to his broken arm. He does have Peyton Manning that he will have to bench for Mark Sanchez, other then that full go for everyone on our teams.

Both of the championship game teams in my main league are going to be very affected by teams sitting guys. Still, I wouldn't have it any other way.

It's an 8-team league, so it works great to have a 14-week regular season (you play every other team twice) and then 3 weeks of playoffs. In a smaller league like that, every team is deep enough to be able to deal with players sitting in week 17. It kind of adds to the fun, in a weird way. I was scrambling today to cover the likelihood that several of my core players may rest (Rodgers, Fitzgerald, VJack, Gates).

One extra week of fantasy football enjoyment. I'm not going to complain about that.
