Week 2 Contest Results Posted (1 Viewer)

148.7 and still alive.

With week 3 starting the bye weeks....the fun is going to start.

I've got MBIII and Glenn out. No injuries yet...so I'll have 19 players on the field.

2,000 get kicked off the island this time next week.

Who's worried?

Yes the first cut usually eliminates the low-hanging fruit. Now that the byes kick in this contest will get a lot tougher in a hurry. With KC and SD on a week 3 bye, all teams with LaDainian Tomlinson and Larry Johnson will be fighting for their lives. But if they can squeeze through this week, they could be a force the rest of the way. It's definitely going to get a lot more intense soon though.

Especially those of us who backed up our LT pick with Turner. Need big weeks out of FWP and Bush. It would also be nice if Philly shuts down Gore so the 90% of the teams that have him get slowed.

I guess I just realized that LT and LJ both have the same bye week, that's a huge advantage for LT/LJ owners as scores will be lower across the board yet only 1000 are eliminated.

Damn, pissed I missed that.

It also means Gonzo and Gates owners take a hit this week & that helps.

In as one of the LT owners who is hoping to slide by and be strong at the finish.

What's the rest of your RB stable look like?

I also have Gore :D and Fred Taylor so I still have hope for this week. However I also have Maurice Jones-Drewa and Morency  . I really thought Morency might get the job in Houston. However, If I make it through this week without LT, he really could carry my team deep.

Here's To Hopin :banned:

Why do you think only 1000 will be eliminated? It's 2000. And anyone owning both will die the first week they both don't produce since the rest of the squad has to be weak.

LT owner here checking in.I handcuffed LT with Turner. The rest of my stable is Fragile Fred, Gore, and Jones-Drew.I gambled that, with the early bye, and the large number of people left, that I could slip past this week. Yes, I will be sweating it out hoping my WR corps can carry me this week.

Okay good...don't know what I was thinking there.Time to punish the LT/LJ owners...get the hell out of my contest. :boot:
Nah, I think you were right man. It goes 12K to 10K week 1, and then from 10K to 8K week2, after that it's 1K per week til like week 10 or something.

It's an interesting gamble. Byes will hurt harder later in the contest (bigger scores will likely be needed as the cuts run deep) so if you can get past week 3, you should have a very tough squad the rest of the way.

Cut to 12,000 Week 1. Cut to 10,000 week 2. Cut to 8,000 Week 3. THEN start the 1,000/week cuts.

Still Alive but next week does NOT look good.

Could someone please post the Top 100 page here? Every time I try to access it I only get a blank page.

I say we just make this last week's cut 1,500 675 and move things along.

Fixed.

I personally think Week 5 is more critical than Week 7 for many teams. Week 5 has all the Bengals and Seahawks on bye, whereas except for Gore and some Rams, there's not much offense missing in Week 7. Week 6 projects as the toughest, but it's the same for everyone so the number figures to be lower than otherwise expected.ETA: And Gore figures to cancel out at least 80% of the entrants so that leaves only the Rams as a factor for most teams in Week 7.

The number of people cut isn't the issue, it's the percentage. It's not like it's four times easier to make it from week 11 to week 12 because they're only cutting 500 players, they're cutting half the field that week. Although week 3 to 4 is the biggest cut until week 6 to 7 (80%). Then it starts getting harder again, 75% advance to week 8, 66% to week 9, 75% to week 10, 66% to week 11, and 50% to week 12.

I have little chance of getting past week 6. I have 8 players on bye. (most of my top players)- Peyton, Chester, Harrison, Williamson, Edwards, Watson. :bye: Would have helped to read all the rules.
