Week 2 - Lions @ Giants - MNF Game Thread (1 Viewer)

Not to be outdone by shotty left tackle play, Greg Robinson and your three penalties/ 1 sack given up, come on down!

Don't get why Reese didn't upgrade a known weakness with Eli getting older and no real RB. I haven't seen a more puzzling decision to upgrade a weakness since Knicks needed more defense and rebounding and signed Andrea Bargnani.
I don't understand how the Giants can be so bad at running the football. The Giants were THE running team forever. It's mind boggling that they haven't built anything resembling a run-blocking OL.

That may be the lightest touch resulting in a sack I've ever ever seen. He barely glanced him. Eli went down like a ton of bricks.

Do the Giants play the Seahawks this year?

If so, they should get rid of the end zones and goal posts and call sacks scoring plays. First team to 50 wins.

Nice run by Abdullah there. Kid just needs some better blocking in front of him

Abdullah needs to put his foot in the ground and cut up field for 3 yards. There's no point in taking that to the edge.
He also seems to always to try that odd shoulder fake that doesn't seem to fool anyone. He had one guy to beat for a TD on that run and sort of shoulder faked the defender into tackling him.

Weird.

If he didn't have a RZ vulture and a pass-catching back, he could be a top 10 RB.

Coaching in DET prefers the committee but man does Abdullah look good at times. Maddening for FFB purposes.

Gun to your head who do you choose to protect you,  Robinson or Flowers?

And no, you can't choose the gun.

I probably do what Manning has been doing: curl into a ball with my arms over my head and pray for a quick death.

I gotta tell you, I was watching this game on the treadmill in the basement and when i finished i turned the game off planning to watch the rest upstairs but I  didn't and now i think I'm going to go to bed.  I have 16,000 likes on a fantasy football website where I've posted 3000 times a year for 15 years and I've got zero interest in Monday night football.

Mark Cuban was right.  The NFL is going to kill the golden goose.

Best. Post. Ever.

I was up by 7pts with my opponent having Perkins and OBJ tonight. Assumed I would lose so haven't been paying attention until now. Suddenly I think I may pull out the W this week.  :lmao:

Terrible clock management by McAdoo.  Should have taken timeout before FG. He goes into half with all 3 timeouts.

Lions ran an extra 30 seconds off. That should be good for an extra Eli sack by a Lions player who may or may not actually touch him.

I'm reminded of a Parcels quote to one of his RBs along the way:  "Don't try to be nifty. You aren't nifty."

Simean with the textbook "just here to help the team, we have a good team; coach says we can get some things done. Have to contain the mistakes, play good clean football, blah blah blah"

Why run plays unless you want Eli to die on the field.
