So... who's starting him this week?

J/K

In all seriousness, why does Mel Kiper think he will go in the first round next year? Bo Jackson couldn't even do that.

Won`t run a 40, won`t sign a contract. That means the Raiders are Lions will draft him in the top 5 next year.

People are saying he cant work otu for teams...is he allowed to work out for the media? Ala TO in front of his house? Whats the difference? If I'm Michael Crabtree, I'm workin out every day..maybe even spending the whole year at that Arizona Training Institute ... Whats the difference if Crabtree was injured the whole year...came back next year...he'd still have that 1st round value right? Plus, he came 2 years early.. (still had 2 years of eligibility left). I think he'll be ok.

It's his brain that's injured, not his body. Much harder to recover from.

How much money do you need? What he is beeing offered would still set a normal person for life. He must know he sucks and wont get a second contract

Just dropped him for Edelman. Seems like there's more '09 upside there. I don't see Crabtree contributing, anywhere, this year.

Dropped him yesterday for Randle El. If ARE only gives me 3 points the rest of the year, it's an upgrade.

Because in Crabtree's priority list playing football is not close to being #1. Who would want to spend a #1 draft choice on a head case like this.

I think he`will definitely still be a first rounder next year. Top ten? Probably not. There is a very good chance that he will be drafted later and lose more money.

I bet you he'll sign in the next 2-3 weeks. He really doesn't have any other options and is just costing himself money.

:goodposting:
He's not costing himself anything but tens of thousands on a contract that will have over 10M in bonuses. Rook contract base salaries are very small and the signing bonus is what puts it through the roof. Each game check would be less that 100K and maybe less than 50K (without looking it up). He'll sign this year with the 9ers, and it will be close to what Raji got minus a couple hundred K if he waits 'till Oct/Nov.
