Week 2 Waiver Wire (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
Here's some of the guys I noticed looked good today that may not be owned in your league....

WR Mike Sims-Walker (JAX)

WR Jason Avant (PHI)

WR Julian Edelman (NE) - If Welker out for extended amount of time

WR Bobby Wade (KC)

TE Marcedes Lewis

And perhaps in shallower leagues

QB Kevin Kolb (PHI) - I am not saying he looked good; but put up stats playing from behind

WR Nate Washington (TEN)

WR Laurent Robinson (STL)

TE Brent Celek (PHI)

Just a quick list...

Any other ideas (shallow leagues)?

QB Byron Leftwich (TB)

RB LeSean McCoy (PHI) - If Westbrook's ankle hobbled

WR Steve Breaston (AZ)

Knox looks pretty good and is returning kicks too..so add him and Seneca Wallace with the Hasselbeck injury.

QB Seneca Wallace (PHI)

WR Johnny Knox (CHI)

J. Forsett (SEA)... J Jones didn't do anything (8 carries 11 yards, 3 rec for -2 yards) while Forsett was 5 for 35 and added 6 rec for 56 yards (91 total).

nate washington is a FA in my league...might be worth a look if he is out there in your league.

Nate Washington is certainly going to be looked at to replace the overrated and underperforming Michael Clayton (Tampa Bay).

Mark Sanchez as my QB3 is certainly going to be looked at to replace the overrated and underperforming Michael Clayton (Tampa Bay). No faith in Garrard while I await the return of McNabb.

Trent Edwards as my QB3 s certainly going to be looked at to replace the overrated and underperforming Michael Clayton (Tampa Bay). No faith in Garrard while I await the return of McNabb.

Wish I could roster McCoy but our league has a limit of 5 RBs per team (C. Johnson, W. Parker, M. Moore, P. Thomas, M. Bell).

Heap is starting to look good as a FLEX.

sims-walker, knox have my attention. everytime i looked up, seemed like b wade was catching a short pass if you're really desperate.

leftwich for an early season bye-week replacement.

forsett's numbers look interesting but he's rather small in size ;)

Keep an eye on Chansi Stuckey.

Led the team in targets (albeit barely over Cotchery and Keller) and Sanchez is looking his way. His stat line was modest, but he almost had a TD in the 3rd quarter where he failed to get both feet in.

and the very next play he was wide open for a td but sanchez overthrew him

how about Forsett? Didn't see the game but looking at the boxes he got a few carries and receptions. JJ is terrible and IMO it's a matter of time before he's replaced by someone. Anyone have any info on his game today?

Forsett looked really good when given the ball, several carries he should have been held to a couple of yards but kept his legs pumping, made some nice cuts and looked like the best back for Seattle. It will only be a matter of time.Forsett Rushing 5 for 35 yds avg 7 Rec 6 for 57 yds avg 9.5

At the same time he fell over his feet.

Watched the Seattle via TV and Forsett looked solid.

Looks like a deep sleeper to me that will the apple of fantasy players' eyes in a couple of weeks. JJ stunk and Edge's role is best suited to that of a Third down back.

sadly news is bell sprained mcl...

I own Welker, & normally I would never pick up a second WR from the same team, but a guy who looks like he'll get Welker's looks in a replacement role will get my attention. We use blind bidding in my league, so Edelman will get a healthy bid from me

Re: Sims-Walker--in redraft, I wouldn't use a roster spot personally. I just don't trust the Jac offense (& I'm a MJD owner). Can't count on consistent garbage time production, IMO

WR thoughts:

- Laurent Robinson – week 1 had 5 for 87 (11.2); week 2 had 6 for 54 and a TD. STL will HAVE to pass all the time.

- Johnny Knox - He had 9.2 in week 1 and 16 in week 2. He’s that rare combo of speed (4.24 40) and football skills. With Cutler, this could be a nice risk/reward, though he could give a goose egg easily. Then again, so can Greg Jennings.

- Chaz Shillens – OAK – If he is back 100%, he’s worth grabbing. We’ll see.

- Chansi Stuckey – 4 for 64 and TD (14.4) in week 1. 4 for 37 in week 2.

In my league, QB get 6 points per TD and 1 point for every 30 yards passing.

But every player gets 1 point for 10 yrds rushing, even QBs.

Michael Vick could be a very valuable QB!!! I just picked him up off waiver wire for Josh Morgan.

After seeing Russel's performance I don't think you should waste a spot on any OAK receiver until proven otherwise.

so how would you guys rank some of these WRs in PPR and NON-PPR, like L.Robinson, S.Smith, Manningham, Knox, Sims-Walker...?

I know... I've been holding on to Chaz for a few weeks and am really thinking about cutting bait after seeing the terrible QB play in OAK. Considering dropping him for Knox.

On further thought/discussion, agree totally. Well said.

i wouldn't cut anyone of value for him. he will not start at QB in the true sense (he may play the first play of a game in the wildcat). he's a gimmick. what do you see him getting? 5 carries? 1 catch? 2 passes? per game? i just don't know when you would put him in your lineup. let him be someone else's headache.

These the the types of posts that keep me from leaving the shark pool. This is the type of info that wins leagues.

It's inaccurate info. Sanchez put the throw on the money, but Stuckey tripped over his own feet and was falling to the ground. Still should have been a TD.

Lynell Hamilton RB NO
Is that the same Lynell Hamilton out of SDSU?One of the best HS RB's in the country back in '03 (same class as Bush, Lendale White, Moroney, etc.)
I think Bell and Thomas both make it back this week. Local news has Bells sprained MCL as very mild. Bell has said he could have gone back into the game. The real concern with Bell though is that they dont have to hurry him back. See PT. Now if Bell or PT were to have a significant injury I would buy your logic.

I thought he tripped in part due to adjusting to the throw. I split the blame evenly between QB and WR. Of course, he could have caught it. But the catch could have been easier than it was. Just my opinion, of course.

Report: Mike Bell 'probably' will miss Week 3 FOX Sports' Jay Glazer confirms that Mike Bell's knee sprain isn't as serious as initially believed, but reports that Bell "probably" will miss Week 3.

This could open the door for Pierre Thomas to retake the Saints' lead back job, but he's going to have to practice well, then stay healthy and produce at Buffalo. The situation needs to be monitored all week. Bell is determined to keep his position and won't be officially ruled out until Friday at the earliest. Sep. 21 - 4:40 pm et

Not sure how much weight that carries, but there it is.

How bad do you suppose Thomas will look if Bell misses no games at all after incurring the same injury and/or still manages to do more with the reps he receives against Buffalo than Pierre?EDIT: Just saw the update from Glazer... I'm still not sold on Bell not playing this week (and I say this as both a Thomas & Bell owner in multiple leagues).

Mike clearly wants to bully PT out of this role and will work every angle available with which to do so.

I'm starting Pierre over Mike in the leagues where I own both but I would not be surprised in the least to see Bell outperform PT if both players are a go.

Wednesday's practice should be a telltale sign for both players. That should reignite the PT/Bell threads for the week :blackdot:
