Week 5 IDP Projections (1 Viewer)

My point is not to bash the weekly IDP projections (again), but can someone PLEASE tell me that my eyesight is going bad. For some reason, I cannot find SS C.C. Brown in the Top 147 DBs this week. Are you kidding me? :loco:

What exactly is your point then? :bye: BTW, your eyesight isn't going bad. Norton left him out of the projections. If you read his EOTG report this week, I'm sure it was a mistake.

Maybe I should have typed my "intention" instead of my "point." I just couldn't help it when there are 152 DBs listed, and he's not one of them. I, too, assume it was an oversight.

I have to agree. These IDP rankings are giving me a headache every single week. How does Will Smith fall so far down so quickly?Should I drop Bob Sanders and Demorrio Williams?

Thinking along with Norton...Will Smith falls this week because Charles Grant has proven that his toe injury is now an non-issue and he'll be back in the rotation with Darren Howard. The Packers are also a relatively weak matchup for DL. Smith drops.

Bob Sanders also has a fairly crappy matchup against a crappy Niner offense made much crappier with the debut of Alex Smith. He's still a reasonable start, but don't expect a 10 tackle week.

Count me as one who feels like Norton has underrated Demorrio Williams a little for the past two weeks. I've yet to confirm this with my own eyes, but the NFL Gamebooks seem to suggest that the Falcons are running a left/right rather than strong/weak sided LB alignment. It also appears that Williams has been involved in the nickel packages much more often than expected. The Pats have been a good matchup for LB the past four weeks. My guess is that Williams outperforms Hartwell yet again.

I'd hold onto both Sanders and Williams unless there are obviously better alternatives out there.

What I want to know is how do some of you guys find the bathroom without someone holding your hand? :X

If you want to cut Bob Sanders becuase he isn't ranked as high as you thought he should be, go ahead, but I suggest that before you do you pay a little attention to who the Colts are playing this week. Let me give you this clip from this weeks EOTG report

With 23 solo stops over the last three games, anyone who doesn't believe Bob Sanders is for real is in denial. The guy is beating the odds and quickly becoming one of the best fantasy DBs in the game despite playing FS in a defense that uses a lot of cover 2. That said, you may want to look at other options for this week. Indy gets the Niners at home in week 5. The offensively challenged Niners that is. Through 4 games only Dat Nguyen (7) and Brian Dawkins (5) have produced more than 4 tackles against San Francisco.

Will Smith falls because the only QB to be sacked less than Favre over the past three years is Peyton Manning. IMO that is a pretty good reason.

These are weekly projections guys, and sometimes match ups make a huge difference from week to week.

As for CC Brown and Guss Scott, I have suggested before that you guys should look at the actual projections to answer some of your questions and not put so much emphasis on a list of names. Brown is projected at 6-1-0. and Scott at 7-2-0. If they aren't on the list its a technical error. I do appreciate your pointing it out so we can get it fixed though. They should both be well up on the list.

Also from the EOTG this week

Looking to improve at DB? Consider Texans SS C.C. Brown. The 6-3-0 he put up against Cincinnati was his best of the season to date but consider the Texans remaining schedule that includes the Colts, Jags and Titans all twice plus Seattle, Kansas City and Baltimore once. This is also a grand case for looking at Kailee Wong if he happens to still be available. Wong is beginning to distance himself from Morlon Greenwood as the team's top IDP fantasy option. He's piled up 14-5-1 over the past two games.

I'll look into the data base glitch on Scott and Brown.

Best of luck to everyone this week,

Reb

You have a valid point on Demorrio. I'm not sold on him yet but already had planned to take a closer look at what the Falcons are doing at LB this weekend. The game book just lists Williams and Brooking as OLB. Not ROLB/LOLB but that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't playing them that way.

D. Williams is one of the top fantasy LBs this season. He is a must start EVERY WEEK. He does play SLB, however I have learned something this season. I would rather play a SLB who plays every down then a WLB who plays on running downs only. D. Williams plays on ALL downs and is good in pass coverage. He is fast and blitzes also.
