Week 6 Coaches Corner (1 Viewer)

ok, so here is the situation. I think I can still change these guys up until kickoff tomorrow. I don't even really need the points from them, but I might as well try and break 200 in a zealots masters league.Since I have gotten 2 opposite opinions from 2 guys who I value their opinion, and I still have time to switch these starters, I would like to propose a faceoff. Jene and Chaos, I would appreciate you both to write up a short paragraph of why you would start urlacher or hayes over the other. Sound good? Should provide interesting reading for the rest of the forum as well.
I thought I did... ;)
Sounds a little blasphemous, but I think I'd start Hayes over Urlacher. He's got the much better matchup. And, since Dansby still appears to be a nickel performer, I think Hayes is the better start. Even if Dansby starts, Hayes may be the better play against a run up the gut team like Chicago who's likely to be ahead most of the game.

I agree it's blasphemous. I start Urlacher.
I probably shouldn't be doing this after my advice this morning, but howzabout quadruple or nothing? :stirspot:
Deal. Here's my little paragraph.I don't think this game is going to be all about the Bears stomping the rookie to death. If I felt that way, then I would agree, play the Cards MLB. Memories of Ronald McKinnon dance in my head. Spec1alk, if YOU think the Bears are going to destroy AZ, then start Hayes. I'm guessing this game is close enough and both defenses make plenty of plays (not a huge Grossman fan and Bears on the road are fairly mixed so far). I believe one Leinart attempt (preseason) was returned for six by Urlacher. I think he, Briggs, or Mike Brown have a real good shot at another in this game. But that's a foolish reason to start an IDP because the odds are so stacked against predicting big plays. In the end, I still see Urlacher as an unbenchable stud. I think Denny and Edge and Anquan and the rookie can slice and dice enough to keep Urlacher busy in a tougher game than most expect. Hayes did little last week as Dansby blew up. Urlacher is about six points behind Hayes on the season in standard scoring. I expect him to end up about 25 points ahead of him. That could start tomorrow night. If not, Jene we can octuple or nothing something next week. :banned:

Hayes 7 (4 solos and a pick)

Urlacher 4 (2 solos and 4 assists)

Is octuple the right word?
Don't forget the PD Hayes earned with his INT... :stalker: Game ain't over yet. However, it's not looking real good for Urlacher as he's managed only two solos against 19 Edge rushes with a 2.0 average YPC.

also, I sure hope Spec1alk took your advice. :bag:
He shoulda listened to me. :)
Seriously. What got into that guy anyway? He looked slow in the first half and was whiffing on tackles when he was in position. This is a totally different guy -- awesome to watch.

Urlacher 11-8-0, PD, FF >>> 18 pts

Hayes 6-1-0, 2 PD, INT >>> 10.5 pts

Even Steven. :drive:

:lmao: "First of all, they weren't blocking me..." :lmao:

Cardinals ran 78 offensive plays

Edge 36 carries, 55 yards :lmao:

That game was awesome.

I was lazy and never changed, but I was really leaning towards urlacher. I just read the stats for urlacher. Either way I am not dissappointed. I got very nice production from hayes and now I know I am very deep at LB on this team with:Dansby, KarlosHayes, GeraldRyans, DeMeco HOU LBUrlacher, Brian CHI LBWitherspoon, Will STL LB

I'm looking for some IDP help at LB. I play in a 10 team redraft league. My two options are Daryl Smith and Brandon Short. Which is the better option for the rest of the year. Scoring system is as follows:

1 pt. per tackle/assist

5 pts. per FR

10 pts. per INT/Sack/FF/TD

Thanks in advance.

I'm going to copy this question into the current week's advice thread.
