Week 6 WW Defense (1 Viewer)

Football Menace

Footballguy
For those of us that don't have the Steel Curtain.......

I'm looking at the Seahawks. Not only against the Bears, but also as a platoon throughout the rest of the season. Their schedule has some good matchups, and they have been putting up some points.

NYG - even though the lions looked great against STL. I don't think they are real and I could see 5 or 6 sacks and 2 or 3 turn overs. Especially if CJ can't go.

san fran this week. they were dropped in my league based off of horrid play so far, but they are going against oakland. their defense should be able to get on track against the questionable passing game.

Dolphins against a Rogers-less Pack

edit....thats if Rodgers can't go

How bad is Oak's offense? I haven't watched any of their games and they put pts up against SD's D.

they aren't as anemic as they once were. bush or mcfadden will run, but thats the one part of san frans defense that is actually working. their secondary hasn't been as good as they were last year yet. but they have to have a fire inside being 0-5. campbell has been notorious for turnovers, but we will see. I think oakland puts some points on the board, but i think the amount of sacks/ints will outweigh that.

They had a blocked punt for a TD, a fumble for TD, and a safety, so the points scored is a bit misleading.

The Giants should be solid againts the Lions, specifically if Calvin Johnson doesn't play. But I wouldn't expect a monsterous game out of them because the Lions have been moving the ball as of late.

No one believes in the lions D? Couldt hey be a good play against Eli? Granted I haven't watched Eli's last game or two but has he turned a corner? Then again Houston's D seems to make everyone into superstars right?

Also where would you rate the Giants D? I remember watching them the first few games of the season and they were very underachieving. But to shut down Houston's O? That's pretty impressive. Are they up and coming as a #1 FF D?

whoever is playing SEA on the road..BEARS. whoever is playing Cult McCoy..Steelers. Lions are doing well, 49ers and OAK

Seattle against Chicago @ home. By my league scoring, opposing D's are scoring 18 points per game against CHI. The last 2 weeks Seattle has scored 35 and 11. Looks like a safe play.

Game is in Soldier Field and Cutler is back. Could happen i guess but as has been mentioned Sea D much better at home.

I'm actually have a claim in for the Chiefs DST and plan on dropping the Saints. Chiefs defense looks for real and when you add in the return element, an easy schedule, and they already had their bye, it's looks very enticing.

I picked up the Lions D last week and I think I'm gonna hang on to them. #1 scoring D in my league and they have been scoring consistent points every week.(not just one or 2 weeks of great numbers.)

not too many leagues out there are going to have the Bears and Steelers on the waiver wire. The other teams, yes.

Im going with Oakland over Baltimore this week. SF has looked putrid on offense and Smith hasn't looked good. Houston is either on fire or ice cold offense wise, and for some reason I just feel like they will have a good one this week with a healthier AJ and a fire to their ###. Part of that may be the homer in me.

:goodposting: I just grabbed the Chiefs off the wire, dropping the 49ers D/ST. I needed bye week coverage for my primary defense, the Falcons, and I think KC hosting Buffalo in week 8 sounds like a winner. :D

After years of religiously following the WW Defense / DTBC strategy, I decided to do something different in 2010, and went out on a limb to pick the 49ers defense in the early 11th round. OOF! It's back to playing ww matchups for me from now on.

These weekly WW Defense threads are some of the most useful in the SP. Thanks, guys!

Anyone starting Minnesota this week at home against Dallas? 77% owned but they sit on my waiver wire. Oakland is tempting but I could see them blowing it after that big win last week. Miami was tempting but it looks like Rodgers is playing. Seattle is tempting cause they might do decent against Chicago and then they have a home game against Arizona next week.

So what does that mean? You are playing the Falcons this week? I ask because they sit on one of my waiver wires. Your thoughts?

No one mentioned Atlanta... I have had him for 2 weeks now, and they have been solid. This week @Phi makes me a little nervous, but I don't have many choices on wire... so I am still going with them...

In my other league I am going with NO vs TB

Depends on your scoring system. Dallas is going to score points IMO, so if your system penalizes hard for points/yards against, then I wouldn't roll with Minny. Especially with their secondary injuries. Dallas will give up some sacks and turnovers though, so might be worth it. I'd rather play Seattle, but would feel better about it if they were @ home.

atlanta has been good to me the last couple of weeks. philly has good talent on offense but their line is a turnstile and i'm not sure kolb can handle pressure. i'm sticking with them this week as well.

They probably aren't on the WW in most leagues, but I went ahead and snagged NE after they were dropped for their BYE week.

I like them at home against BAL this week... thinking things could get messy.

I have Miami in right now but if Rodgers starts I am going with SF. They have scored pretty well in my league the last two weeks and have a good matchup at home vs. Oakland. Could go with Oak instead but would rather have the home team defense for the matchup

Seriously? NE Def is a mess and this is coming from a homer...You can't count on DEF/ST TDs every week.

which side of this game comes out with a bigger fantasy day on defense? philly or atlanta?atlanta vs. cin, philly at tenn (next week) - if factors into decision of which one of these is better this week.

ATL for me too!

They are towards the bottom in total points for the season, but I like them this week to get some sacks. I'm either going here or KC. Not sure about Oakland...I smell let down after the big win against SD last week.

#1 DEF this week will be DAAAA RAIDERS
I have no idea how you can live with yourself after saying this when you consider that the Steel Curtain faces the Brownies being led by the rookie Colt McCoy.It's gonna be a bloodbath in Pitt tomorrow. Please note... I'm not at all suggesting that the Steelers are a good week 6 WW play as it should be fairly obvious that they should be owned in 100% of all leagues. I'm merely refuting the statement that Oakland will be the #1 defense this weekend.

Top 10 so far: PIT 18MIN 16STL 14SEA 13NOS 13NYG 13MIA 13BAL 12DEN 12PHI 11KCC scored....3....
