Week 8 - What Did We Learn? (1 Viewer)

Brees is getting very comfortable with his receivers. Oh and Watson is legit.

Jeremy hill and Cj Anderson are not dead yet. Neither is lacy.

Randall Cobb is absolutely NOT a must start anymore.

Is Rodgers?
I think Rodgers will be ok. He's still Rodgers and his Wrs are getting healthier, and so is lacy.

Cobb otoh, is showing that he is not a true #1 wr. He needs Jordy back to draw defensive coverage away from him. He's more of a matchup play now. Next week I'm curious if josh norman will be covering him in the slot. If so it will mark 2 weeks in a row on the pine for me.

I didn't mean Rodgers isn't a must start "anymore", but his weapons are subpar and will stay that way all year. I'm also not saying he's not a starter anymore, I just wonder if just for this year, he's not a "set it and forget it" at QB like in years past.

Like against tough defenses on the road, maybe you need to check the matchups of your backup, assuming you have a relatively strong one.

Cobb had a lot of targets but Denver's defense is insane. I think Norman will be on him so he rides the pine for me too.

?

Hill had 60 rushing yards and Lacy had 39.

That Jordy Nelson may be the most underrated fantasy superstar in the game. Packers aren't the same without him.

Drew Brees is back to elite status.

Todd Gurley is the consensus number 1 pick in 2016 Fantasy Drafts.

For me it was less about the stat lines and more about deeper analysis:

Hill was the primary ball carrier today. Very little gio. Coaches have been talking up hill last few weeks and are committed to him. He's only going to get better for fantasy from here imo. Great buy low.

Lacy looked healthy, scored a td, and was also in command of the backed for most of the night. Disregard the low yardage. The entire gb offense looked horrible and got smoked by Denver d.

Also, re read what I wrote: they aren't DEAD YET. That just means there is still some life. Not a ringing endorsement. I view both players as excellent buy lows. Rt now. Window is closing.

Is this what we learned the whole week or just tonight? Every post is about Denver or Green Bay :P

I learned that things change every week and nothing is certain. Dont know if I just learned it, I think I already knew that.

A decent QB will beat Green Bay's defense like a drum. But I already knew that. Manning and Rivers both setting records against this sham of a Capers D.

Capers is a god to most Packer fans because of his one SB ring he got with them. Realistically, he should have be fired 2 years ago.

Peyton's throws looks like he is chucking watermelons out there. He has absolutely no zip on his balls. That has to catch up with them at some point right?

Totally agree. The defense made one play. And that was Clay Matthews and Kevin Greene responsible. They were getting the roughshod treatment from Mendenhall. Matthews forced that fumble and Mendenhall never got another carry.

The Broncos a DST is must start stud lineup choice regardless of matchup.

We actually learned this Week 1, but 6 more games of confirmation helps reinforce the notion.

Also, McManus.

Yeah, he's got a weird throwing motion & arc this year. The spirals were a little tighter last night but he still looks like dog #### at times. Almost a guarantee he'll throw 1-3 picks a game.

But great win for the Broncos team last night.

Hard to believe but if the Colts lose tonight - your Houston Texans are tied for the division lead.

:lmao:

What a #### show of a division.

Meanwhile we're looking at Minnesota and Oakland as WC teams. The Vikings were a popular pick to move up this year, but damn, gotta give Del Rio some credit here. Carr to Cooper is pretty fun to watch.

That next year the 1st round is going to be Gurley, a bunch of WRs, and Gronk.

Look at the leaders so far at RB: Freeman, Ingram, Chris Johnson, Doug Martin, Ivory, Dion Lewis, Woodhead. No reason to take RBs early when so many mid to late round guys are having solid years.

Meanwhile, WR continues to have the most consistency among the top drafted guys. And as always, Gronk is Gronk.

2 weeks ago it was who have the Broncos beaten? Now the victories at Oakland and against the Vikings are being looked at in different light.

The real #### show is that the NFL will send one of those sorry teams to the postseason... With a home game! Meanwhile, actual good teams with winning records, will sit at home.

Learned SD will do anything, including lose games, as long as they make sure their 1st round RB gets as much experience as possible?

Melvin Gordon 23 touches, Danny Woodhead 5 touches.

I know SD can fill many beds in a hospital, but yards per carry and receptions and TDs, Woodhead is far above Gordon.

Does SD just want to make sure Gordon regains confidence with fumbling issues? Is it SD is 2-6 and getting Gordon experience for next year? Were they hiding a Woodhead injury?

Thought the whole idea was, "You play the game to win."? Does the coaching staff know something more? Does the staff contracts have a 'Can not fire' stipulation?

Uneducated guess would be all the injuries, but damn, how do you give Woodhead only 5 touches? Seems SD plays better with him in there periodically.

I worked all last night and slept through most games today. Any notable observations you guys wanna share?
Gostkowski should have been a first round pick. On pace to outscore Adrian Peterson and Eddie Lacy (and due to injury, Le'Veon Bell and Jamaal Charles).

What I learned.

Injuries suck. Alread knew that but weeks like this really drive it home.

Den might have the best D we've seen in the last 10 years or so. Yeah, really.

I learned that "gethugefast1" owns Danny Woodhead and NOT Melvin Gordon. ;)

Oh - and as a Rivers owner I don't care either way. I hope they keep the fumbling rookie in there - and Rivers has to chuck it 50+ times a game to catch up. Every ####### Sunday (or Monday)

One other thing. As a Bears fan, it was nice to see what Aaron Rodgers "WTF?!?!?" look is - instead of that smug "Yeah, I'm beating your ### again" grin he usually has when playing the Bears.

The Denver D is very legit
More of the Packers offense just being off since the KC game.
140 yards on offense tonight for a 6-0 team - just the offense being "off" ?
:lmao:
Aaron Rodgers, playing the quarterback position better than anyone in history: net 50 yards on 22 PA.

2.27 YPA
On the first couple of series last night Rodgers got absolutely leveled 2x and that had to set the tone for the rest of the night.

Live in La Jolla, but appreciate the props.
