Here's my list of bargin running backs that hit paydirt this weekend:

Bradshaw NYG, hard fought game, but I see Mr. Bradshaw coming up with 75 total yards and one TD

"Edge" James, you have to play everyone against the Lams, I think James is the new goal line back for Seattle, blow out game with for sure garbage time for the Edge 75 total yards and one TD. Jones can't have 40 carries in this game, got save some touches for the rest of the year for JJ.

McGahee, lets see the Ravens play the Chiefs, hmmm, anyone think their be some garbage time here. I thought I read somewhere, that McGahee had 5 carries inside the ten yard line in pre-season. 80 yards and TWO, count them TWO TD's against the helpless Chiefs for the lost boy of the RAVENS.

Buckhalter, I betting Denver plays it safe with their new toy "Moreno" in week one, and Buckhalter gets most if not all of the carries (no word yet if Moreno plays ) If nothing else I see Bucky at the goal stripe once--85 yards and one TD. Lots of upside here.

Bell N.O. High risk pick here, but I list him. 1. DB might just air it out all day. 2. People are under estimating Hamilton(I think Hammy gets more carries then people think) But if PT does not play I give Bell 55 and one touch. N O def might be the best play here.

Coffee, The new 49's will run the #### out of the ball. This kid is a real talent, he get his 14 touches, 80yards (one on a 20 yard+ carry) taking the old pigskin to the house.

Who's your hidden talent for Week 1?

"Bargain Runningback" I would say fred jackson. He's only a lock to start first 3 weeks so use him well ya can.

I think that if you are going to pick a guy in Denver, you go with Peyton Hillis.

Other than that, I mostly agree.

I like most of these calls but I would not be shocked if Hillis out scores Buckhalter if Moreno is out. Hillis should be the goal line back, great receiving/pass protection back if they are down and the hammer if they have the lead and want to eat up the clock. While I think Rice will get his I agree that McGahee should also rack up some points.

Chester Taylor -- Vikes should be up big and Taylor should get his share during garbage time
This. Taylor is an excellent sneaky play this week. It should be a blow out and I can't see the Vikes exposing ADP to injury in week 1 more than is needed to win.

As of right now I have Bell penciled in over Chris Johnson, but I doubt I can pull the trigger on it when the times up on Thursday.

I generally like the calls, but i think you have the wrong Seattle RB. Forsett should get a good number of touches, I think. I'm not sure Edge knows the playbook well enough or is in game shape.

Also, I do like Hillis some - he should get some touches every week. All he does is produce.

Just a hunch but I look for K. Moreno to be the surprise week #1 stat hog. I say that but I have "safer options". Even though I have Moreno, I will play Bell, Sproles, or even Z Miller as a flex. I wont mind seeing Moreno go off on my bench though. Just a feelin...

Actually the Bengals matchup makes any of the Broncos backs to be good sleeper plays.

Moreno isn't a "sleeper" so for this thread I will second the Buckhalter AND Hillis picks.

Buckhalter will get more between the 20's type carries, but Hillis will get some short-yardage carries, dump-offs, kick returns, and some goal line carries.

I see the Broncs trying to chew the clock and keep the Bengals air attack off the field as much as possible, especially on the road. Using all the RB's will be their best options, even more so if Marshall isn't playing.

Moreno - 15 carries, 70 yards, 1 TD, 1 rec, 10 yards

Buckhalter - 15 carries, 55 yards, 4 rec, 20 yards

Hillis - 10 carries, 35 yards, 1 TD, 3 rec, 25 yards, 2 returns, 45 yards

The bengals Dbs get toasted, but the front 7 usually does a pretty decent job w/ the run IIRC.

The Chargers should be up big on the Raiders on Monday Night, so Darren Sproles should rack up 80 yards and a TD in mop-up duty after LT gets his.

Tampa opens with Dallas coming to our house. It will be hot, and while I'm sure most predict the Cowpokes to blow this thing wide open I'd be surprised if the Bucs didn't try to run the clock and play ball control.

Caddy is easily the most talented RB on the Bucs. While I doubt he ever makes it through the season, I'd be fairly surprised if he doesn't get 60 yards and a TD this week. He has looked very quick in camp and the Bucs have a nice run blocking line.

I like this one and will add Beanie Wells. I can see 15 for 75 and a TD this week. I think he will outperform Hightower in the game and see the Cards up big in the end.

Got me thinking on this post..............what is the pool's thoughts about who gets sloppy seconds for the Chargers this year. I have mortgaged my season on Sproles to some extent, but I'm not so sure the Chargers will risk him much if the game is out of hand. I hope they do, but for some reason I believe it will be Hester and M Bennett. With the out of backfield and return skills, I think he is more valuable to the Chargers this year than LT (because after watching Sproles against the Colts on NFL rewind this weekend it's so clear he is their best back). As far as this weekend, I think about 60 and a TD is likely, plus returns but it won't be in cleanup time. Anyone else with thoughts on this. Certain to be quite a few blowouts this year for SD.

Fred Taylor anybody?

Should be a huge blowout and IF they are at all concerned about Welker and Brady they may keep it on the ground to ice the game instead of running up the score a la 2007.

But who the hell knows.

good posting..CT will get a lot of action this weekend!Julius Jones will be a fantasy monster vs. Rams this weekend, start him with confidenceBenson will get 100 yards and at least 1 TD vs a very, very bad Denver rush defense

James Davis
Against the Vikes D that has the Williams sisters?
Yeah...I'm not seeing that one either.
Its not like Lewis is going to move the chains against those beasts, so maybe we see 4 or 5 dumpoffs to James Davis on the outside. But yeah in all likelihood we will have to wait a few weeks to see how James Davis role materializes. On the flipside, if he does produce any meaningful stats against Minnesota, his value is going to skyrocket.

I was about to post the same thing but I don't know that I can pull the trigger until I see how BB will use Taylor. I've added him very late in all drafts and while I think he's the best back on the roster I really have no idea how BB will use him.

I agree with your analysis for the most part, but disagree on James. He will not be the goal line back. Even though it was mentioned initially that he would be, He was one of the worst backs in the league at the goal line last year.If anything, he was brought in as insurance in case Julius Jones cant cut it. I know that Seattle wasnt totally thrilled with Jones last year, and this is their way of telling him to step it up. There is also a slim possibility (20%) that they dont like Jones at all and that Edge was brought in to take the job outright.either way, I agree he's good for 50 yards in week 1, I just dont agree with the analysis as to why.

I was thinking Mike Goodson. There is no way Stewart will be ready to relieve Williams after missing the majority of the preseason. If Goodson can block he will get some carries and a chance to put up some numbers rushing and or receiving.

My gut tells me this will be the MONEY play of the week. Not sure I'll have the guts to do it, but I bet those that do will be rewarded. 80 and 2 tds with a couple of catches even.

Mike Bell vs the Lions for sure..although he is probably not a sleeper at this point.
Cedric Benson all DAy! Denver is Bad... REALLY. going into Cincy and after hard knocks, I think the Bengals will start off strong and that means putting less emphasis on carson and pounding the rock.. Over 100 yds, and at least 2 TD's

News states Goodson will return kicks. Nothing yet on 3rd down carries or giving DeAngelo a blow.

There seems to be a misguided assumption in this gameplan that the Broncos will have a lead in this game and be able to dictate pace and weapons?I think Hills and Moreno both out-carry Bucky, but that none of them get more than 10-11 carries as Orton spends most of the day trying to catch up. Benson will be able to run on this D (use him now, if ever) and without a pass rush, DEN has no chance of stopping Palmer and his 3 stud WRs.

People are drastically underestimating the Cincinnati defense. With a healthy Keith Rivers, the addition of Rey Maualuga, Tank Johnson, Roy Williams & Michael Haynes they should be much improved.

If the Cincinnati offense can put points on the board, and they should be able to vs. the suspect Denver D, then you should temper your expectations for Denver's RBs.

With Sammy Morris and BJGE around, I don't know that Taylor gets the TDs, but he is great choice for yards.

I'm not sold yet. He finished strong last year but had a sub 4.0 YPC in the preseason. He has show flashes but I am not sold yet.

I'm not much of a fan either but he is an upgrade for the Bengals run defense, which was their biggest area of concern on defense.

Seems to me that JJ is becoming the underrated player in the Seattle backfield.

I'm curious what it is that makes you believe this? Hightower is healthy and has looked phenominal. 15 carries would be approximately 50% of the carries all by himself.
