Weird Pending Trade Situation: (Yahoo League, Timelines and Default Ru (1 Viewer)

Okay so weird situation about a default rules Yahoo Trade. I'm usually in leagues that push trades through immediately so want some clarification about this awkward pending period. Trade has been accepted and here is the message at the top:

Note: This trade will be processed on Saturday, Oct 11. If traded players are on your Week 6 bench or haven't already played, the trade will be reflected on your Week 6 lineup.
Otherwise, it will be processed for Week 7. If you've set your lineup for future dates, those changes will be reset to match your lineup for the day players are added.
Giving Up: Ahmad Bradshaw (Plays on Thursday) Roddy White, Julius Thomas

Receiving: Dez Bryant, Jimmy Graham, Reggie Bush

From what I understand, starting Bradshaw on Thursday would keep Julius Thomas and Roddy White on my team for the rest of Week 6. Is this correct?

Couple questions:

1. From what I understand, starting Bradshaw on Thursday would lock Julius Thomas and Roddy White on my team for the rest of Week 6. Is this correct?

2. Is there anything the other owner can do to prevent this trade from processing? i.e.: Drop Reggie Bush
1) Starting Bradshaw on Thurs should not lock Julius or Roddy 'startability' for week 6. Once the trade gets processed on Saturday, the other team will still be able to insert Julius and/or Roddy into his starting lineup for Sunday.

2) The only thing capable of killing the trade at this point would be a league vote or commish veto. The other owner can't do anything to cancel the trade by himself. If he attempts to drop Bush the system will tell him that the player is in a pending trade.

I'm not talking about them being locked or startable. I'm talking about when the trade will process. From the way I'm reading it, the trade will NOT be processed until Week 7 if I start Bradshaw on Thursday. If I started Bradshaw on Thursday, I highly doubt it'd send Julius and Roddy to him on Saturday and keep Bradshaw in my lineup.

If you start Bradshaw tonight trade doesn't trigger til week 7.

BTW wtf is this guy thinking? Terrible trade for him. Seems pretty obvious he was trying to get Thomas to fill in for Graham's bye week/injury. Is that why he said he would do the trade?

Yeah, I don't know. But it does not seem correct that you could start a Thur player and have the trade process on Sat. You would then have a player who was locked in your starting lineup leave in the trade, and that just cannot be.

What makes the most sense is that the entire trade waits until Tuesday to process.

I don't play on Yahoo so I'm not sure, but that's not what it sounds like:

On Saturday, the trade won't process for Week 6 because one of the traded players will have already played (if he starts Bradshaw on Thursday night). I can't imagine "half" of the trade processes this week and the rest will process next week. It either all goes through, or none of it does. The trade will be processed for Week 7.

I manage a Yahoo league, and can confirm OP and IE's interpretation is correct. If you start Bradshaw tonight, the trade will not process until Tuesday morning. If you bench Bradshaw tonight, the trade will process on Saturday, but Bradshaw will be unusable by both teams.

For next year, I'm changing my trade review period to one day on Yahoo. The 2 day review period is 2 full days, not 48 hours from acceptance. So even if the trade is accepted first thing Wednesday morning, the trade would not go through until Saturday.

Thanks for the quick responses. Emailed yahoo and they did confirm that if Bradshaw is started tonight the entire trade will be pushed to week 7.

Definitely surprised he took the trade btw, but it IS a Yahoo league. Didn't have trade talks just sent out a ton of buy low offers one night and woke up to this one accepted.

I commish Yahoo leagues and either use immediate effect for trades (the two parties agree, it's done) or commish approval, and I approve very quickly (esp Tue night or Sun morning) and, so far, 100% of the time.

The waiting periods are absolutely unnecessary and simply end up stifling trades, especially with a TNF game every damn week
