Welker expected to play tonight (1 Viewer)

I've only been saying this for three weeks . . .
So has every other Pats fan on the planet. Just figured people would like a solid confirmation.
Carver, Yuds is solid confirmation on anything Pats related...
I know. Im reminded of it every time I make a Pats post. And no offense to Yudkin (he's a fellow Pats fan and New Englander I assume :goodposting: )... but I've never once seen a post by him that that was anything other than educated fan speculation or information that was not already broke by some other media outlet.

Im not doubting he talks to Mike Reiss (lots of people have a line to him), im just saying... I've yet to read any real insider posts. Maybe they were all made prior to me joining though. I dunno.

I appreciate the information from David as much as the next guy but the kowtowing gets a bit much at times.
I certainly don't encourage anyone posting things about me. My main concern is to try to provide accurate information as many times the info from the media about the Pats is just plain wrong.

.....and that is much appreciated.

Since you know the in's and out's of the Pats, can you tell me about how much I'll get out of Moss tonight? Giddy with anticipation :excited:

There have been things I have posted that were not generally available in mass distribution or some things that were contradictory to what was being reported. Usually who was playing and who wasn't. One was saying Morris would be going on IR weeks before he did, indicating the Pats wanted Randy Moss a year before they finally got him, etc. It's not like I can break a lot of news on the Pats . . . they don't exactly have much to say about things. I remember one time everyone left Stallworth for dead and ESPN and Rotoworld said he was going to be inactive and I indicated that not only was he going to start, but he was in the game plan that week to be a big part of the offense (he went for 6-140-1 against the Skins). But there have been a number times where Reiss added things to his blog after I informed him of recent news and he's asked me for updates on recent player news and developments. Again, not trying to be a newsmaker here, only trying to get the proper information out there.

Disagree. For the past two years, DY has provided much insight with respect to the revolving door known as the NE RBs. The info. regarding the injuries sustained by Morris, L/ Jordon, & Moroney has, by and large, been spot on.

This being the first time I have ever given Yuds props on his Pats info, I guess I am on a very short leash here.... I won't be giving Yuds props a second time I promise you that...

Welker projections for tonight ?
Strictly a decoy for Moss tonight :loco:
Hoping it's the other way around. Actually with all the secrecy, it sounds like Moss 2 years ago (again hoping). Going out on a limb and saying Moss is the decoy and Welker gets 9 for 110 and a score. Moss will still get his (possibly a longy dongy) but will have fewer catches.Mud
I will gladly take stats from either game Moss had against the Bills 2 years ago.1 - 115/2 td's2 - 128 4 td'sThat's some decoy!

Sorry, David, but kowtowing is not allowed. Even if it's to yourself... Carry on...

I'm guessing the Pats start with a dink and dunk to Welker, a Taylor run up the middle, another short pass or draw to Faulk, and then a play action bomb to Moss for the distance. The Pats are eager to strike fear in the rest of the league. I expect a big number from them offensively. Like 41.

I've noticed this. No ego involved-- just providing info. I think that's why people go out of their way to let you know it's appreciated.

Sensitive.......................if I offended, my apologies. Was not a comment directed at anyone in particular. Just a time and place thing. Carry on.
Not really. Just thought it was out of left field and then thought it was funny that Yuds was singing his own praises a bit after saying he didn't want anyone else to do it....

I am expecting big things from Welker this year. I turned down an offer for Boldin. I just don't trust Warner this year for some reason. Stupid ? Maybe, but with Brady back, Walker may out produce Boldin.

Like I said... im sure he has. And im hardly trying to discredit him or anything he has contributed to the forum. I've just never read anything most Pats fanatics couldnt piece together. The stuff I've read sounded like it could have been written by anyone who follows the team very closely. And by very closely, i mean someone who goes to TC practices, owns season tickets, and for all intents and purposes follows the teams every move. Not a knock against David, I just have to call it like I see it is all.

I love Yudkin. Am paying for not listening to his advice about Welker (assuming he can score more than the 2 points Ginn and Boldin gave me).

In the league I have Welker I had to make the call by kickoff Thursday; considered David's soundings, but decided to go with Mason. Figured Flacco would go off v. K.C.47 yards. TYVM. Should have known Clayton and Heap were the play. Also left Rice on the bench to play my starters, Kevin Smith and Turner. Beautiful.Anyway, to answer the projections questions, I'd think 8-115-1 sounds about right. :X

Seriously? Pretty much everyone knew that Sammy Morris was an IR candidate; even the Boston Herald had reported that Belichick liked Moss's game; and Stallworth's big game came in Week 6, after he had started the previous 4 games in a row (and was still the assumed starter at that point in the season), and had caught 8 balls for 114 yards over the previous 2 weeks. With all due respect, as usual (since you clearly know your stuff here as well as most other Patriots fans), I think you are taking some serious liberties here by trying to claim that you were the guy with the scoop on these things. And your line about Reiss adding information to his blog at your advice is completely over the top. He generally responds to most of his emails from readers, he has a reputation for checking his sources very carefully, and I do wonder how he'd respond to a claim like you just posted.

yudkin's advice....wtf??
have faith in welker, mah bruthas, and ye shall be rewarded.
I would advise all you guys to just make your decisions on the assumption that welker plays --- he's a tough little dude.

I would be very surprised if he didn't play.
edit psI believe yudkin is actually a dallas fan.

Yudkin is the best staffer on board IMO, along with Chase Stewart.

Ok, let's see how you do in week 2 with WDIS questions. Obviously, picking Welker to do well next week is not hard.
