West Virginia flooding -- 26 dead now (Federal Disaster Declared) (1 Viewer)

Greenbrier is supposed to host the PGA tournament next week.  It was under several feet of water yesterday.  Bubba Watson tweeted out a couple of pics.  Crazy stuff.

Tournament cancelled. President Obama declared disaster areas on Saturday, thankfully.

I've seen a number of these massive, rain/flooding events. Every few years this happens, those at the bottom of the hills always suffer the most.

Best thing about us poor people, we always are ready to give what we don't have to those that lose all.

Should you want to help, send bleach and cleaning supplies. TIA

My parents lived in that valley for about 10 years from the late 90's to about 2010. They now live just 20 miles north of there, but still know a lot of folks down there. Terrible stuff...unfortunately not the first time that vallye has been overwhelmed

I feel like this has barely been on the news in a lot of places.  My Mom grew up in Greenbrier County - Greenbrier East High School.  Still have some relatives in the area.  She was at our house in NJ this weekend, and I mentioned it, and she wasn't even aware of the flooding, then nearly came to tears when I showed her stuff online because she recognized a bunch of places in the photos.

I think aside from the mentions of the PGA event, there really wasn't much in the news.
