Westbrook trade value.... (1 Viewer)

Hey all,

Just wondering on the general consensus of Brian Westbrook and what you think he is worth. FBG has him pretty high on their top 250 forward, but I don't see his trade value being worth what they value him at.

Taking it this way. Here are the top 6 RBs in my mind, and where would you put Brian in terms of trade value.

LT2

LJ

Tiki

Westbrook

S Jackson

Kev Jones

Willie Parker

This is not FBG list, but if you had SJax or KJones, would you trade them for BW? I think not.

Opinions?

BWest owner and I dont plan on trading him unless I am offered LT or LJ (and I dont see that happening any time soon)

Westy owner here and I tried trading him last week for S.Alexander and was promptly turned down. I've also got S.Jax, F.Gore, W.Lundi and M.Morris.

gman,

Why the thumbsup? According to FBG scoring Westbrook is averaging 18.87 PPG. Thomas Jones 11.01 and Colston 14.00.

So TJ (11.01) + Colston (14.00) = 25.01 - West (18.87) = 6.14 difference

Here are some of the WR in the 6.14 range: Drew Bennett, Mark Clayton, Wes Welker. I'd say in the long run that trade for you is a

I got 300 yard's 20 catches and 2 tds's out of colston alone the last 2 weeks thats a 35+ pt avg just for colston on top of whatever tj does. i do not put a lot of stock in fbg rankings

I turned down Alexander and DeShaun Foster a couple of weeks ago. It's not a PPR league but non-positional yards/TDs are worth more than positional so Westy's receiving skills are very valuable.

I really couldn't believe the S.Alexander owner turned down my offer of Westy for him. Besides Alexander he has McGahee, T.Henry, Jones-Drew.I made the offer after McGahee broke his ribs, thinking he would jump all over it. He's in the thick of his Division race and needs to keep winning, I am (now) 9-1 and already have the first week "bye" wrapped up in my Division.Oh well, maybe this is one of those trade offers I'll be happy didn't go through.

I said in the long run. I didn't use FBG rankings. I used points per game. In dynasty, keeper leagues and any league where you get a PPR, I give your trade a  In a redraft league I give your trade an incomplete because I don't know who your WRs were before. Anyone better than the group I previously mentioned and you get a

in the long run my trade will produce more pts than not. in fact i think colston will be really close in production to westy. plus there is a better chance of westy going down than not

I think this sums it up. I wouldn't trade Westy unless LT or LJ were involved. The guy is money.
you will never get lj or lt for him unless maybe you give a 2nd top back or maybe a top wr
If the LT or LJ owner does not have a supporting cast, I would think a 2 for 1 of Westbrook at a solid wr could (not saying will or won't, but could) get you either LT or LJ. Thinking of wrs in the Hines Ward, Darrell Jackson, TJ Housh caliber. Now this may not get you an LT or an LJ, but to Westbrook owners...this is probably the most they would be willing to give up, IMO.

Gman, who did you start along side Westbrook ? Unless your #1 WR before the trade was that horrible I cant see how Bwest/WR ? is worse then Colston/Jones

i traded williamson and westy for colston and jones. taylor, jones in the backfield roy, hines, colston at wr and in first place
