2 concussions in such a short period can't be good for Westy. He is such a good player and teamate- I wish him the best.

Thats his 3rd this year?Im going to take a total guess and say his season is over.
Career as well. This many concussions in that short of a timeframe is a really bad sign.
As a long time Westbrook fan and Eagle fan I'm scared this may be the case.
Hadnt it already been stated that this year was his final season? Or was it just a rumor?
They have not given him a contract extension and with his salary cap number for next year at $10 million and the Eagles history of letting players walk @30 it very well could be his last.

I can't beleive that Dr.'s cleared him to play today when I read he was having side effects from the flight out to SD earlier this week... headaches, etc... So now he's had 2 in 3 weeks...

No one verified.. is this his THIRD concussion this year???? That's crazy bad. For sure done for the year.. but if its three in 10 weeks that sounds career ending to me...

he's headed for drain bramage...

Where did you read that? If that's true, that's inexcusable on the part of Reid and the Eagles.

I read it in a thread here.... someone quoted a source saying he was ??? due to issues with flying to SD.. I'll have to dig to find it.

Update from RotoWorld:

According to NFL.com's Steve Wyche, there is "speculation" that Brian Westbrook's second concussion in his last two games could keep him out for a "prolonged period," and perhaps jeopardize his season and/or career.

Coach Andy Reid admitted that Westbrook took a "heck of a hit" Sunday and that "football is secondary" in this situation. "We’ve got to look at this kid and for his future," he added. Wyche suggests that the Eagles could express interest in free agents Edgerrin James and Larry Johnson. Warrick Dunn is also out there. Don't bet on Westbrook helping fantasy teams anytime soon.

From an article on Philly.com about Westie Returning posted today:

The timing of the hearings [about concussions], as they related to Westbrook, presented an interesting look at the league's conflicting priorities. NFL officials were testifying that they consider concussions very serious business at the same time Eagles officials were speculating that the recently unconscious Westbrook might not have to miss even one game.It turned out that Westbrook did miss a game, after suffering a recurrence of headaches, and then missed another because of another headache, while coach Andy Reid held out hope for his availability until the last moment each time.Today, for better or worse, the wait is over. Westbrook is expected to play against the San Diego Chargers this afternoon. He will take the ball, lower his head, charge into the line, and try not to consider what might happen next.
I haven't been able to find anything saying he had issues this week with headaches (just to correct/clarify an earlier post I made)--Westie practiced Friday and I dont see anything that says he had issues Saturday.
