What’s the most odometer miles you’ve gotten (or a family member/friend) on a vehicle? (1 Viewer)

What make and model of vehicle?

I just surpassed 100k and wondering how far I’ll go. A buddy of mine just traded in his SUV that had 240k miles.

279k (Original VW bug)
271k (Subaru Legacy)
267k (Subaru Legacy)
My quest for 300k has been unrealized

Took my Mitsubishi Endeavor to 145k and then gave it to my mom in 2016. She's got it around 235k right now.

Dodge Ram with 210k on it - bought it new and drove it for 5 years. Gas was cheap back then.

Was just talking about this with my next door neighbor this past weekend. He's got a 2011 (I think) Toyota Sienna minivan that he drives daily for a 85 mile commute (round-trip). He picks up 3 other people, they all throw him $25/week for gas/maintenance and he drives every day rather than them rotating. He showed me his odometer, 422k miles. He's been doing this arrangement for decades now, and says this is the second vehicle he plans to hit 500k with, with the previous being an old Volvo wagon.

1996 Ford Explorer 225K
2006 Ford Expedition 248K
2009 Lincoln MKX (son's 1st car) 198K

Current Cars in family

my 2016 BMW 3 series 135K
son #1 2016 Jeep Wrangler 92K
son #2 2016 Mustang Eco 94K

i've got a buddy that I coached LL with back in the early 2000's that was driving a diesel truck that was 5/6 years old then, and he's still driving it now. He's a bridge engineer/inspector for the gov't and uses it for work and the gov't pays for its maintenance and he gets milage...............he's at 780K miles.

I bought a 1995 Nisan XE pickup in February 1996 with 27k miles on it. I got it up to 127k miles by December 2002, when the odometer broke and froze on that number.

I finally traded in that truck in July 2018. No idea how many miles were on it, but it was like pushing 280-300k judging by commute length, daily driving, etc.

I got our early 2000s Honda Odyssey minivan up to about 265K miles before the transmission finally gave out.

We are a touch over 240,000 in our 08 Honda Odyssey. Wife still likes it...and car prices what they are, we have not replaced it. Has a slow oil leak, but not worth, at this point, getting in there to find the exact location at this point. Mechanic is really good about letting us know how everything looks when he has had it in...still holding out we get another few years out of it. Once my daughter is driving, I am hoping we are done with the minivan...but the wife still likes the thought of having one. It is handy for the trips to Wisconsin each year...but other than that, Im not a fan.

242k ’07 Lexus ES350 (bought with 30k on it)
231k ’06 Honda Ridgeline (bought new)

Both were running like new when I traded them in and neither had any major issues throughout my ownership.

We got out 2003 Odyssey up past 250,000 - did have to replace the transmission at about 150,000. Finally gave it away a couple years ago. Engine still ran great but the ride was getting pretty rough, to the point I didn't feel confident taking it on the highway.

2002 Acura TL base 242K miles. transmission blew the first year of ownership, but smooth sailing after that for roughly 10 years. sold it in 2014 and bought another TL tech, which was a POS that I got rid of within two or three years.

When I bought the '04 Corolla I had for 10ish years, I don't recall the mileage. But I remember getting to 100k and posting on Twitter (tagging and getting a like from Toyota). And I went way past that before I sold it. Maybe 140k?

I've had my 2020 Kia for over 2 years and barely surpassed 10k. Don't drive much, and rarely anywhere but my mom's place in the city next door or to work, which isn't much further.

I had a 2004 Ford Taurus that got to 198,524 miles before the odometer just stopped working. I WAS PISSED!! I wanted to see that baby roll over 200,000 so bad! I drove it for another year or so after that so I probably got to about 230,000 before the transmission started to go.

All my cars always croaked before they could hit 200K. But over the years I knew a couple of people that had Toyotas that refused to die. The sheet metal would far off in shards of rust but always started and got you there past 300k.

I've got 248k on a 2016 Honda HRV, it's parked needing a new CVT transmission. I got a new car so it may sit for 3 years until my oldest starts driving.
