What about Jerome? (1 Viewer)

J. Lewis isn't getting any younger or faster in Cleveland. Jerome Harrison looks decent against the  :) :towelwave: last week.

I believe it may be time for the Browns to move in a faster direction. Thoughts?

I would really like to see Jerome have a larger role and think he could be successful but doubt it happens. I thought his WSU video was very impressive when he came out and I'm still holding onto him in a couple of dynasty leagues. He seems to have done pretty well in his limited touches but for some reason never gets much of an opportunity. I dont anticipate that changing this year.

I had to drop him for the roster spots. The bad about him is that he's never been able to block well, and at the beginning of this season, he was talked about being cut because he wasn't contributing on special teams. Dude's been a preseason stud and can move, just really doesn't fit into what Romeo wants out there. Even when Lewis went down last year, Wright started. Blah.

This year, no.

As a dynasty prospect, maybe. Look - the Steelers are notoriously difficult to run on, and JLew was a little bit ailing this week. Doesn't get any better when he faces the ravens this week, either.

Hard to judge either back versus those Ds, especially when Harrison was used as a COP - and received only one carry and one reception. Not sure how you can say he "looked decent" on two touches, with one being a 23 yard pass reception and the other being a 2 yd run.

I've always liked Harrison as well, and thought his style better suited the Browns offense, but when his team is choosing to give carries to an uninspiring Jason Wright over him it says alot about what they think of him.

Easy... I saw more from Jerome 2 touches vs J. Lewis 19 for 38yds

Why are you rolling your eyes? I am not sure how you can say HE looked decent on two touches. I was not denigrating you for thinking Harrison is better than JLew, just that two touches is no basis to say he "looked decent" against anyone.

While his pass blocking has improved he has only progressed from repulsive to just plain bad, that's why he hasn't seen more action. He has 2 down RB upside whenever J Lew's days are over and that's if someone else isn't broguht in to take the role over him - I wouldn't take that bet.

Definitely a RBBC if JLew goes down.

Wright is the bigger back and would get short yardage/goalline.

I've liked Jerome Harrison from back in the day at WSU. However, his biggest faults/talents were on display at the Senior Bowl - and they still hold true today.

In Mobile he couldn't push the pile and was very lackluster running between the tackles. When he got the ball outside - or in space - he was very hard to stop. I liked seeing him pick up yardage with that great initial burst, but he doesn't offer much if he has to run through trash at the line of scrimmage.

That's all he received, and he should of gotten a couple more.

I thought Jerome looked quite a bit thicker than I remember him last year. (Thought he looked a bit slower though too). Again, I was going off the couple touches he did receive, like we all saw.

It's good to see the staff is looking to get him a few mores touches with a healthy Lewis. I've always liked Harrison more as a runner than Wright, but I imagine there'd be a committee approach if Lewis went down. (Probably something along the lines of Jerome 1st/2nd -- Wright 3rd downs, as mentioned above).

He did it again.... Talk about making the most of your opportunities  :lmao:

Rotoworld) Jerome Harrison caught a 19-yard touchdown pass in Cleveland's Week 3 loss to Baltimore.

I think Lewis is on a one year deal, if the Brown lose a couple of more there is no reason that Harrison should not see more carries.

4 carries 20yds.... What does this guy have to do?
FWIW, most of his yards came on a beautifully designed PA to Jamal end around (Harrison was lined up in the slot), he's going to continue to touch the ball a handful of times/game but I wouldn't expect anymore than that.

Go to another team. He doesn't fit into what Cleveland wants to do.
I don't agree with that at all, he fits in perfectly to what we want to do.
I think he could really be asset to the Browns this year.
The coaching staff loves the power backs and up the gut runs. That's why Wright is Lewis' back-up. Harrison may work his way into 3rd down back but he will never be the starter in Cle.

i thought it was because Wright could pass block?Harrison is an explosive player, but he needs to get the ball in space. he will provide some exciting plays here and there, but he doesn't look like a guy that will ever be a starting NFL running back.

:goodposting: He's a great compliment to the workhorse ( J lew) and the journeyman insurance policy (Wright).

As soon as Crennel is out the door he will be giving his chance to shine! Possibly this year! His blocking has improved!

I am thinking two packages. Quinn Harrison, Anderson Lewis after bye week with Wright remaining a 3rd down back.

If Crennel wants to keep his job he at least is going to have to experiment with this or something different because what he's doing now sure aint working!

Hes showing good receiving skills and decent running ability but you can see why he wasn't sought after out of college on the trick play from last night. Hes not fast. He lacks real acceleration to get to the edge and once he gets there. This will limit his upside as a RB, but he looks like hes got enough skills to produce at a decent level given good to great circumstances.
