What are the expectations for Paul Kruger taking over for Terrell Sugg (1 Viewer)

Hi guys, I was looking for some thoughts on Paul Kruger. I'm sure it might be listed somewhere on the IDP forum, but there is a lot of information there. Any thoughts on his tier ranking or projections for stats would be appreciated. I'm thinking of picking him up off the waiver wire, but wanted to see what you guys thought. I would have to drop Kamerion Wimbley or Robert Quinn to pick him up. Thanks

There are times where the numbers follow the position/responsibility regardless of talent. This isn't one of those times.

I think Kruger has nice upside, but he's not the elite pass rusher that Suggs is and he's likely not as dynamic as a run defender or zone blitz drop option. There might be double digit sack potential here, but I wouldn't expect anything near elite DE tier numbers unless he shows something more in preseason play.

Hi Jene,MFL currently has Paul Kruger listed as a DE. Would you expect for that to possibly change to LB? If not, where would you say he'd rank going forward?

Rotoworld has him listed at DE. With Courtney Upshaw out last week and the Ravens opening in a nickel package (Kruger was listed as OLB but the nickel impacts how the depth chart is listed in Gamebook) it's hard to know where things shake out. I think there's a very good chance he stays at DE, but wouldn't guarantee it. Still evaluating, but he'd probably be a DL3 w/ T20 upside if he's used similarly to Suggs.

According to FBG's projections, he would be a DL2 in balanced scoring systems and a borderline DL1 in tackle heavy leagues.

Gents, MFL is not switching Kruger out of the DE spot. At this point he was moved from LB to DE on July 16, and in the updates effective today, he has not been changed back.

All reports are that he is essentially taking over for Suggs and should be in line for around 40solo/20asst tackles and 7-10 big plays. He's definitely a DL2 with DL1 upside (depending on scoring formats). Act accordingly.
