What date is your league draft/auction on? (1 Viewer)

Just curious when most people are having their drafts/auctions this year since the season starts on Sept 7th and the Holiday weekend is just before it.

TIA

We have ALWAYS done it the week before the season but that week being Labor Day, makes it tough. I suggested Sept 2nd but we may have to do it the week prior.

Due to multiple conflicting schedules, ours is being held very early this year, on 8/12. I see this as an advantage as I think the FBG info I'll get on training camps is superior to what my leaguemates might see on SportsCenter or the NFL network. Now I have a better chance of getting guys late in drafts that would go sooner as they start to shine as more preseason games take place. The only areas of risk here are injury (can't account for that in season anyway) and taking a RB on a team where the starter isn't quite settled.

We've always held draft the Wednesday before the season begins so this year is Sept 6th. We want to have all the roster cuts completed before draft night..... Plus numerous reports come out the last week naming starters etc so I don't understand why people hold their drafts early.... Why have a draft where people are guessing who the starter will be....

Drafting in 2 leagues the week of August 28th.

Our big league drafts Saturday, Spet. 9th....the Saturday following the openers!

8/27

We go as late as possible for a weekend (we have a few guys who need to travel) without infinging on Labor Day Weekend.

It used to be that we would go mid-August but there was one year with a slew of preseason injuries that killed a few guys before the season started, so we bumped it.

we usually draft sat a.m. labor day weekend. we're scattered so it is online -- no one has to go anywhere. and we're done early enough to not mess up any weekend plans.

I got that beat. We always do ours the last weekend of July. Not sure why. We rent a conference room at a convention center. Each owner has an 8 foot table with their mini helmet with team logo on it and the 8 foot banner of their team with logo hanging from the ceiling behind the them. In front of the podium will be the trophies that were held the year before by the winners including the replica Lombardi trophy for the SB winner and the actual size concrete football on a tee spraypainted gold for the guy with the worst record.

####### commissioner won't let us know even though 1/2 of the league has been begging to know for over 2 weeks. Total schmuck. If I hadn't applied my 2005 winnings for this year, It'd be later days league.

Wed. Sept 6th

too many league members were going out of town Labor Day weekend and with the Thursday game, we lost our old Saturday draft before game 1 schedule.

Not as much fun on a Wednesday evening, but we deal with it. I just wish the NFL would get rid of that stupid Thursday night game to open the season. But whatever. Every year they add new twists to keep us fantasy leaguers working things out...more Thursday games...Saturday games...2 games on Monday now...more bye weeks. let the madness stop! lol
